I want to drop 300 and get a pair that last forever.

These fall directly into your price range. I was debating back and forth because I've never owned a pair of wedge boots -I work in construction and every single guy I work with wears wedge boots, they swear by them but I've always worn boots with a heel, but it's very tough to find a good casual 8" boot that isn't a wedge. So I went with these and love 'em so far. A classic American boot.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
So, you're going to meet some of your RVF homies at a bar in the West Village. You're going to stroll through area, which is full of college girls, chicks that have jobs, and the occasional fashion model....

Which Best Represents your Style...And do you think girls find it attractive?

1. STRAIGHT BUSINESS, NO FUNNY BUSINESS, I HAVE A REAL JOB, THERE IS NO CASUAL FRIDAY, MY BOSS ALWAYS WEARS A WHITE SHIRT

2. A little bit of style.

3. This is the most I can get away with at my job

4. I'm just trying to cool out with my bros

5. I'm not really gonna try TOO hard,

6. I read a ton of magazines and actually try to look like them

7. I'm a douche, but I gets laid plenty

In my opinion

#7 is the look to pull top tier girls. It's polarizing.

#'s 2-6 are "nice", "acceptable"

#1 turn hot chicks off, but great for guys looking to be providers.

^7 everytime BananaBanana. I always get told I look like an asshole until I start talking.

There just has to be the right amount of "I fucked your bitch" in a man's look with a posture to match persona.

WIA, a bit off topic, but what are your thoughts on correct posture especially when complimented by a certain look?

I am usually dressed like #7 - I am a douche. Sexy douche.

#6 is also looking good. Unfortunately, I do not have such wardrobe. I will thrift a bit and see if I can find something that will give me that look. And most importantly, I want to see if I feel comfy in it.

#4 and up, in my case, draws attention from women who hit the wall, or about to (25+). If I tone done my suit game a little bit (like WIA in some other thread showed to us), I might be able to attract college girls.

I am still figuring out how to post pictures. Silly me... .

WIA, a bit off topic, but what are your thoughts on correct posture especially when complimented by a certain look?

It's on topic.

From a game perspective, if a chick comments, it's game on.

Chica - Nice shirt

Clueless - huh
Polite - thanks, I like your skirt

New to the game - Do you say that to every guy you lust after?

Archie - a bunch of geese are called a gaggle. A lot of fish are called a school. You know what they call a bunch of larks? An exaltation. Musicians, poets, or just high, how do you come up with that?

You ever wonder? You look like you might still be a dreamer.
----
I take any comment and indicator of interest as a point to launch into the kind of guy that I am and what I think about. And then try to push my reality. I know what she expects, so I avoid giving that to her. Then I put her in a position to answer, but usually they want to answer smartly, even if they can't. And then tapping into truisms with the cold read makes her feel that I really know her. The challenge aspect makes her seek some small amount of approval.

Overall, I'm trying to do a lot of game things all at once because I'm overloading her senses and upending everything.

But this is the kind of guy I am. I screen chicks out that don't like stargazers. If I can't tap into her natural curiosity, I will not enjoy any time with her. She wants to know about me, I want to know about the world.

A lot of you guys are more like Han Solo.

The proper response is a smirk, then close the distance and get into her personal space. The action acknowledges the comment, and the next action and words push the interaction towards sex.

If you mean actual anatomical posture, this is where working out, playing sports, your physical life is crucial. Aside from the muscles and square jawline, as well as residual tiredness from a workout, but overall increase in energy and testosterone, the way your body moves in your clothes sends off all kinds of signals about your health and fitness but also your ease in the world.

Girls home in on
- accessories
- shoes
- shirts

So if she likes your beaded bracelet, physically you can look at it, and turn your wrist before you answer her.

If it's a shirt, you can do a slight flex, a rock back.

Basically, in terms of body language, acknowledge the compliment, but verbally and body wise switch to your attraction sequence on low burn.

A shy girl might make you pull out all the stops and get her to mirror your mood.

A cold approach, you start at 5 and move to a level higher than they are.

This is a warm approach, any comment or compliment is. She just poked the lion. You don't always want to roar.

It's not in the bag, so you still have to charm her, and also qualify her. And body language, tone, volume, demeanor on response to a compliment is actually more important than what you say.

Now this is off-topic

I think #6 is the casual ideal for a lot of guys. It looks good, but it's not edgy. You look better than most guys, but you don't have much identity.

And I think that's what most guys in the game go for, cool but never standout.

#6 Beckham look - not many guys can rock that look at make it cool. I believe they call it a Canadian tuxedo look, I do love that denim jacket and I have toyed with the idea of getting one. That look I would only wear on the weekends, never to meet someone for a casual Friday meeting.

#7 is the killer look, the trousers I wouldn't wear. The rest of the outfit says "money", with a touch of douche. That is a look you can rock in North America and in Europe easily. The black coat is a strong staple for guys who have to deal with winter. The white shirt is a staple as well. I would maybe go with a slim fit trouser with a softer pattern, maybe a pin-stripe or a herringbone pattern.

The other looks are nice, but straight out boring.

You are trying to be the man, not one of the boys in the herd.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
The trousers are what make the look.

The color
The tightness
The details

And you have to wear them with authority, cause people are going to test you. But if you know it's coming, you can have something to pull them deeper into your story.

1,000 guys would look at that and focus on how attention seeking the trousers are, and say "No, that's not for me"

A woman will start something that looks ridiculous to HER because she understands the social impact.

As game has gotten more mainstream, mainstream mentality has crept into every area of it.

Dudes think that is it's about moves and the mouth piece, but leave a lot the guns back at the house.

^^ I get what you are saying about the trousers.

They are a little too tight and too short for my tastes.

The colour and design wouldn't be for me, although I have some in my collection that are just as bold/

Spring and summer are coming up. All my shorts are worn out. I know shorts are harder to pull off. Still need some though for casual day events.

Anyone have some photo favorites? I like to go much bolder with short colors and patterns than pants, why not. It is a warm look.

^less is more in general with shorts. I would also not underestimate Hawaiian collared shirts(with white or black shorts) or Hawaiian shorts if you can pull them off. In general though

I am #3, #7 mostly. With some #2 and #5 sprinkled in.

Those pants in #7 jumped out at me right away. I would pick those up in a heartbeat, right on.

But I am also the guy who was making guys on here mad at my 'red, velvet tassled loafers' over on the shoe thread. I mentioned how many people got straight up about "What the fuck is with your shoes?"

Love this shit. I wear things for me, no one else and can take anything the fashion police throw at me.

See all that Khaki stuff. You are still on the Southern kick man. Exact opposite of what I am talking about.

I think with shorts you can go with brighter pastels and so on, much easier to pull off than with pants.

[Image: grey-long-sleeve-shirt-hot-pink-shorts-b...l-2659.jpg]

The sandals are weak he needs some good shoes. I like the shirt and shorts, it pops.

Your boys look too JCrew and reserved. Where the tennis match be at later?

I like this guy's shorts too at least they have pattern to pop from the dark blue.

Shoes are a tough pull off, dare I say this guy is doing it well.

Last guy needs to get rid of the gay purse, stop playing with his hair, and get some shoes that pop. The worn out brown boat shoe, moccassin is a cop out. Probably needs to borrow some of Dorothy's ruby shoes from Laner. Otherwise needs some accessories and he's good to go.

Interesting a lot of people identify with #7. In my experience, very few guys can pull that look off. You'd need rock solid frame or FU money to make it congruent. I've worn trousers like that before and I wasn't prepared for the shit tests. However, this was in college and it was a bit out of place. Personally, I like #3 and often I'd dress up more along the lines of #2. Beckham looks good in everything but not digging #6 at all. Looks like a monochrome block that he tries to rescue with the hat/boots.

A guy was asking for cheap boot recommendations earlier in this thread. Meermin is great from what I hear, check the site out. Also, I have a pair of these. For $120 they're hard to beat but they aren't the best match for blazer/suit.

Looks like just a standard wool overcoat. Can't tell what's going on with the collar though because of the lack of contrast.

Wow, are those styles a European thing? I don't think I've ever seen a guy dress in any of those styles here, with the exception of the straight up business in #1.

I don't dress like most of these examples but what you see in Australia is more like...

Extremely Casual

[Image: mens-berry-red-docker-string-chino-short...6_zoom.jpg]

[Image: zanerobe-zr-graff-muscle-tee-grey-marle-...-1-big.jpg]

Casual

Going Out (Only about 10-20% even go to this effort. Most just wear the casual above on nights out)

Maybe it comes down to the warm climate and not being able to get to creative with layers, jackets, suits etc. Nobody even attempts to suit up unless they're going to a wedding, funeral, formal event etc.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
Most fashion comes from
- ny
- london
- paris
- milan
- tokyo

All of those places get cold.

Spring Summer styles
- t-shirts
- polos, short sleeve button ups
- light colors, pastel colors - pinks, orange sherbet, banana creme, lime, mint, baby blue, lilac. crisp white shirts.

- shorts
- white jeans/pants
- white belts, braided leather belts
- sandals, slim design sneakers
- necklaces, bracelets
- Hawaiian shirts and shorts, swim truns,

For business,
- light grey and khaki suits come out of the closet
- linen shirts (sometimes linen suits)
- more flowers on ties, cotton neck ties, linen neck ties, bowties

Most of this stuff is cyclical. I've been following these trends for a couple decades, so I can spot "new" ideas in average guy's wear pretty quickly.

Last spring/summer, the "it" shirt was red/white/blue gingham dress shirts.

[Image: 3347110_fpx.tif?wid=700&hei=510&...rxlrg$]

I saw a lot of guys wearing them, and I think both Zara and H&M had their cheap versions out pretty quick. What's interesting is that a red/white/blue gingham shirt is not really new, but for whatever reason it resonated with guys.

Gap, BR, J.Crew, the rest of the Mall level type stores, always have the 1 shirt that every guy likes, but no one buys for full price...until they see it on someone else.

None of these things by themselves are typically cool. None of them are particularly eye catching to women either. But guys notice other guys, even if they don't want to admit it.

Guys prefer classic styles, and women prefer fashion. The more you push towards fashion (which isn't necessarily expensive designers), the more it pops with chicks. The more you go towards style, the more that guys respect.

There is not a middle ground, or a way to get both, and that's true for a lot of other aspects of game.

^ Yeah that shirt seems like an East Coast thing. No girl out here I know would see that as eye catching in anyway. And it looks like a "I work for someone I have to look presentable for" shirt. That said robes with hoods and scarves are the thing out here.

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
You can look at WIA's photos using Tanner's refined, rugged, rakish lens to help you determine which one fits your personality and situation:

1 & 2. Refined
3-4. Refined with a touch of rakish
5. Refined with a touch of rugged
6. Equal parts rugged and rakish
7. Rakish with a touch of refined

Rakishness can really set you apart because most guys can't pull it off with the necessary level of confidence. Refined works better for me because of my age (middle-aged), so I just try to add a little bit of rugged (dress boots, thicker belt, or coarser material like tweed) or rakishness (colorful pocket square, ivy cap, odd vest, longwing shoes, colorful socks, etc) and it works well for me. As I get more confident with the clothes I might gradually add more rakishness to it, but I'll still lean more heavily towards refined.

^ Lean the other way harder - life is short you won't regret it I promise. Maybe you buy a few things you wear once. Fuck it. It will be worth it when you find the pieces that make you feet a foot taller and your shoulders a foot wider.

Pops without being overbearing.

Tough to pull off, keeping it simple up top helps drastically. Eye catching without eye hurting.

Classic white shorts. Colorful belt, accessories. Love the shirt color. It all pops. Shoe color isn't bad either. I think I have seen this posted elsehwere here.

Last One for Hz

Yo Hz this last one is for you. Won't embed. Salmon shorts and a powder blue sweater. Not bad Southern boy, not bad at all.

Moral of the story I think anything is better than Khaki except for your Dad who you don't want cheating on your Mom.

This is the summer competition I am up against over here. I don't know how to compete. I'm thinking a few colorful rave bracelets and a white belt with a stripe isn't enough unfortunately.
