I picked shirts from them on Black Friday. Would not recommend, if you have an athletic build or are reasonably fit you will have to tailor the shit out of these, just tapering the waist will not be enough, even with their slimmest fit.

I'll probably only wear them for work, but even then would not recommend

I got them for work so I want them to be looser and went with the regent fit.

What did you tailor have to do to the shirt?

I only had him to the waist because the cost wouldn't be worth it for the rest. Other things that may need to be tapered include the arms, which also are very loose. The cut around the chest and back also wasnt optimal but the tailor said the really the only way to do that part properly was to start shirt from scratch.

What did you tailor have to do to the shirt?

The problem with a non-bespoke shirt is that they are made to fit an arithmethically average body that does not really exist. The same reason why fighter aircraft needs to have customized cockpit.

The waist is linked to the arm which then is linked to the shoulder. Usually it's the most obvious mod to do, but then you still end up with an armhole way too far out. This makes high arm movements pretty uncomfortable and untuck your shirt.

Then there's the shoulders. Usually for guys who lift you will have big shoulders. Any off the rack shirt that fit shoulders will be way too baggy and have the above problem x 100. But if it's not baggy then the shoulders are too tight. You wont notice it why trying it on, but wearing it all day in the office will constrict your shoulders and give you shoulders/back pain.

Then there's the sleeves. Most people just dont care but the difference between a properly sized sleeves and one with extra garment making waves and waves up your arm is huge.

If you have to do all such tailoring + the price of an OTR shirt, that would easily cost more than a bespoke.

Save yourself all the hassle and go get a bespoke shirt. Go meet a real tailor, have him take your measurements, discuss your needs with him and have your shirt made old fashion way.

I agree with you on all points if a OTR shirt doesn't fit your body and considered going bespoke. Its hard finding a tailor who does good work though, I recently went to find a new one because my regular guy I noticed wasn't paying attention to detail.

The new one I found look good so I just went to drop off a Zegna OTR suit I got fitted to my body.

^^Those are good classics to pair with anything smart casual and up. Perso I would wear dark blue jean with a cafe racer jacket, or one of my colored suits with it. The color is great, light but neutral enough to be pair with anything. How does the leather and sole feel?

I could never wear those in Paris though. Fucking rain here all the time and it would ruin any suede boots.

They're nice, but the Saint Laurent ones they're copied from have a nicer shape.

Got some SLP Wyatts. They're awesome. Make sure to get a suede brush.

Rain doesn't ruin suede shoes. You could spray them with waterproofer. Even if you don't, suede will do better in wet conditions than a straight up smooth calf leather shoes, which will be ruined if worn in the rain too often. Suede ain't gonna crack like smooth calf, and will in fact look better when faded over time. If possible, get suede shoes with a rubber sole or TOPYs if you plan to wear in the rain.

If it's end of winter weather, with lots of slush and salty water out there, just wear some LL Bean boots or something you can really beat up and save your suede and smooth leather shoes.

I guess it looks OK, but suede was never my thing.

Looks too soft for me.

Yeah these are Story Et Fall, around 300-400 USD/Euro. I have some SLP Trainers and High tops but no boots yet unfortunately. Wyatts are one of the best in the game though.

I own the SLP Court Classic sneakers but no boots yet. But I've tried Wyatts Jods and Chelseas and yeah, its no SLP level. The sole is solid and suede is high quality, I have some Common Projects Suede Chelsea boots and the quality is pretty much on far with those. And common projects is no cheap brand for boots and sneakers. Their site is a bit hard to navigate but they are from http://www.storyetfall.se/line1.html

How do they compare to CP quality? I presume they're equal or better as after a while you pay for the name but I don't want a pair of sneakers that'll end up looking like shit within a month or two, I can get that for £100 with Kurt Geiger.

I have both the white and black SL01 low tops and the quality is fine. I've hammered both of them and they still look good. And they're a lot sleeker looking than common projects which look quite chunky compared.

Food for thought:

If you wear an item and completely own it, as if you were born with it, then you can get away with wearing anything or overdressing

RE: Fashion and Style Lounge
Right, I admit phrasing it like that is a bit too easy.

This comes from a previous discussion with some friends, and my opinion is that there's no such thing as "overdressing" or "inappropriate dressing". Even peacocking (assuming it was done intentionally) is a choice, and a strategic one that we make.

Also not talking about events with specific dress codes. If you go to a black tie event wearing a blazer, no matter how you frame it, it's just retarded. Same thing with wearing red to a funeral.

But being the guy who's always in nice fitted blazer/pants and good shoes in an office where most people wear oversized shopping bags err shirts? Not because you wanna show off but because you can basically go to bed wearing these? You will draw a lot of attention and polarization. You are standing out because of who you are.

On the other hand we can always spot the guy/gal who would go to a date wearing jegging (I hate the word) and wife beaters, who suddenly start dressing nice for one special occasion. And you can clearly see they are not comfortable in it and it screams try hard. I remember this vividly at my salsa class final exam. Some of the ghetto girls came sporting 50 different shades of red. And you can see they ain't comfortable with those.

I used to hate it when I roll out for a walk dressed in my smart casual garbs and niggas would say bro you be pimping. Now I just take it as a compliment. Overdressing is more about you making people feel uncomfortable because they aren't used to dressing nice. It has nothing to do with you.

I wear my bear claw necklace since I was 18, given to me by my uncle who slain the bear with a machete. The only time I take it off is during martial arts training. In the capital soy of the world I get a lot of bad rap for it its actually amusing. Until I ran into some Latina or Russians who find it so masculine and sexy.

I guess this is why it's so fucking hard for most guys to learn to dress well. The technicalities of it is so easy. But actually dressing well means you first have to own it, and then you must be ready to push back when the haters roll in.

For most young bros learning to dress well, everything is overdressing/peacocking to them. Find it so hard to give them advice. Even more frustrated when nigga is ripped but just refuse to show off dem muscles because it's too showy. You don't say niggas?

Once your style literally becomes you, there's no such thing as overdressing.

Homie Dal-e-ron,

If you aren't going on dates in a wife beater then you're a bitch-made cuck and you're leaving bangs on the table. Dressing up for dates?? Are you tryna fuck or are you just tryna look good? Real niggas show up butt-ass naked and carry the thots home over their shoulder and get the bang in the bushes outside.

Let us try to maintain a higher standard of life than that of the multitude, but not a contrary standard; otherwise, we shall frighten away and repel the very persons whom we are trying to improve.

Any of you guys get custom fitted t shirts made? Sometimes I'd had problems finding a decent fit.

These guys showed up on google but I'm curious if anyone has some recommendations.
