The Lifestyle Curve: How much do you net a month
I thought it'd be interesting to get a picture of the readers on this forum, so we get a better feel for if we're run-of-the-mill types or quite a few of us are making big bucks. The poll is private.

Gross or after tax? I'm assuming you mean salary/12.

My bad.

NET - after tax.

I assume 99% of us are males in our prime, even iknowexactly. We hardly use the public services in the countries we reside, so net would be the best indication of your so-called "budget-restraint" curve.

Making USD5000 a month in the US is not the same as making that money in Europe. Unless your Greek and don't pay taxes.

Yeah, I'd drop my vote down a category then. I'd also think a lot of people here are late 20s or early 30s were a couple of years will make big differences. As an example, I started working at 23 and I'm 27 now. My paycheck has doubled. Unfortunately, the net pay isn't even close. Stupid taxes.

US5000 will go really far or not far at all depending on where you live as well. San Fran or Manhattan vs. bumf-ck Iowa for example.

I put myself in a certain category based on the "after tax" constraint. Now I did not factor in my 401k deductions which would technically knock me down a class. Nevertheless, being though I am a software engineer who is a contractor for the Feds/INTEL with 20 years experience AND a TS/SCI/POLY clearance, you all can pretty much guess my category.
