RE: The Colombia Master Thread
Hey ya'll,

Based in Manizales this month after four months in Medellin. Liking it so far--chilled out city. As has been mentioned there's not a whole lot going on but there are cuties on the streets. I'm taking the opportunity to work and go to the gym. If anyone is around and wants to meet up let me know.

Also, I've already booked an apartment in Cali for the month of August. Had nothing but good experiences meeting with forum members so far so if you're around either of this spots hit me up.

I've made note of Scotian's tips on Cali but if anyone else has specific tips on bars/clubs/things to do I'd appreciate it. My apartment is in Granada.

Cheers

Manizales is nice, one of the cleanest cities in the country and I enjoy the cooler evening temperatures but it’s hilly af. I never partied much there outside of the feria there a few years back but have done a bit of exploring nearby. The town of Chinchina is nice and the coffee finca Hacienda Guayabal is worth a visit. Definitely hit up Pereira for a night on the weekend.

Definitely make plans to attend the Petronia festival in Cali in August, I wish I could go!

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

Yeah, I'm getting a little cardio workout here after my main workouts humping it up the hill every day.

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely try Pereira on a weekend. Got a flight out of there in two months so I'll be there eventually one way or another.

The Petronia is the Afro festival right? Yeah, I saw that I'll be there for that and definitely plan on hitting it up. Makes up for my bad timing being in Manizales during school break :/

Ya it’s a festival of Pacific (read: black) culture, I’ve never been because I’m always working in August but it should be fun. I’ve gone to some Pacific concerts during la Feria de Cali and they’re a lot of fun, especially if you like Afro-Colombianas, like me. Try the viche but don’t drink too much.
