Were skirts and dresses invented to tantalize men and make it easier to grope women?
In a way, it seems strange that men are the ones who wear trousers, given that they can easily find pants constricting and uncomfortable to their genitals. I wonder if a kilt is any more comfortable.

My theory is that the tradition of women wearing skirts and dresses was invented to tantalize men (for example when a sudden gust of wind provides a glimpse of what's underneath, or when a choreographed cheerleader dance is specifically designed to make the skirt fly up) and also to make it easier for boyfriends, husbands, etc. to grope their women.

In particular, I love having my wife wear knee-length dresses with spaghetti straps. Then when she's washing dishes or whatever, I can easily come up behind her, kiss her neck, and reach into the top of her dress to grab a handful of her luscious boobs, or slide my hand up her skirt and feel the warm softness of her beautiful thighs and enjoy squeezing her supple yet firm ass.

I file this simple pleasure under item #1, "family and friends," in the list of 4 Things We Should Always Be Grateful For. It's great that clothing exists that's socially acceptable and beautiful for women to wear in public, yet also is so useful for them to wear in the privacy of the home. It's definitely helpful in keeping one's emotional state well-balanced to every day savor and cherish the tactile admiration of the wondrous female body in this way.

Speaking of which, I notice Google brings up a lot of results by American women complaining about their men groping them too much. E.g. this blog post: "My husband cannot walk by me, say hello to me, hug me (you get the picture) with out groping. He gropes. All The Time. Even if he’s not really trying to get sex, he’s still wants to cop a feel. . . . I AM NOT PRODUCE!!!!!! Stop squeezing me please!!! . . . . I want my husband to sit by me on the couch and just hold my hand without trying to grab my ass. I want my husband to hug me hello without squeezing a boob. . . . . I want to be kissed and caressed. I don’t want to feel like an object. . . . . My husband, he knows this. I make sure to remind him of how much I despise his groping every time he does it. BUT HE STILL DOES IT! WHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY????????????????????"

Poor American women. They really don't let themselves win either way. If they're ugly, they feel like shit because men won't give them the attention they want. If they have a beautiful, pert young body, they feel objectified by all the attention they get. I would rather they even be scheming gold diggers who think, "How can I monetize my gorgeous body's squeezability" than view it as such a sin to want to grab a handful of that. It's especially wasteful when they're wearing the exact kind of outfit (e.g. sleeveless sundress) that lends itself so much to creating convenient groping opportunities. Freakin' handteases is what they are. Women like that could easily have been mentioned as part of The Reason Most Men Are Impotent And Depressed but I guess space limitations prevented it.

For me, groping is a pleasant re-affirmation, "This beautiful girl, even her most intimate and exciting parts, is all mine for my sensual enjoyment. If it feels this good to run my hand along the outside of her body, I can't wait to feel what it'll be like to put my penis inside of her." This is especially true when I'm running my hand up the warm, soft inside of her thigh and thinking, "It feels better and better the closer I get to her pussy..."

I think in some cases the urge to grope comes from male amazement that such a well-designed and wonderful creature as woman could really exist; like doubting Thomas, they don't believe till they've not only seen but touched. It makes me wonder whether men who have a history of being chronically sex-deprived have a greater tendency to do more groping when they get the opportunity just as a way of reassuring themselves of the reality.

I'm pretty sure that men wore dresses too for 1000s of years.

They're just easier to make.

By the way, this is a really odd post Big Grin

Makes you wonder if these birds remember their fucking wedding vows. Remember that part that says "to have and to hold"? Bitch what do you think that referred to, a lifetime of cuddling platonically?

I get that their beta husbands disgust them but there's a simple remedy for that, stop being AFBBs.

Raymond, brother, this KingsWiki thing has been a greater blessing to you than you'll ever know.

I suspect the responses would be far less measured to these strange threads in other circumstances.

RE: Were skirts and dresses invented to tantalize men and make it easier to grope women?
CrashBangWallop is right. Pants were created for horse riding. Just about nobody else wore pants at the turn of the first century AD.

Eventually it became a general military standard. Men, coming back from military service, sometimes also wore pants at home. At some point in the early middle ages it caught on. So what I am saying is, wearing pants is an ancient idiom related to military service.

Quote:The ancient Greeks used the term "ἀναξυρίδες" (anaxyrides) for the trousers worn by Eastern nations[11] and "σαράβαρα" (sarabara) for the loose trousers worn by the Scythians.[12] However, they did not wear trousers since they thought them ridiculous,[13][14] using the word "θύλακοι" (thulakoi), pl. of "θύλακος" (thulakos), "sack", as a slang term for the loose trousers of Persians and other orientals.[15]

Quote:Republican Rome viewed the draped clothing of Greek and Minoan (Cretan) culture as an emblem of civilization and disdained trousers as the mark of barbarians.

Quote:Two types of trousers eventually saw widespread use in Rome: the Feminalia, which fit snugly and usually fell to knee or mid-calf length,[18] and the Braccae, a loose-fitting trouser that was closed at the ankles.[19] Both garments were adopted originally from the Celts of Europe, although later familiarity with the Persian Near East and the Teutons increased acceptance. Feminalia and Braccae both began use as military garments, spreading to civilian dress later

In fact, in early history it was pants which were considered effeminate, probably because you can check out the shape of a girl's ass better through them (vs through a roman tunic):
Quote:When the Romans first encountered the braccae, they thought them to be effeminate

RE: Were skirts and dresses invented to
Looks like some Chinese may have invented the miniskirt for the reason the OP is talking about. I think these are Miao Zu people. I think the skirts are called 短裙苗 but that translation is not that great. This appears to have happened 1000's of years before Christ too. Very wise these men were....
