Firstly, one year is not a long enough time. You can't be 100% sure she is a unicorn after only one year. You need to go through some more trials, tribulations, ups and downs to see what happens. You need maybe 1-2 more years to discover if she really is said unicorn.

Secondly, to answer to your question - "what would you do?" I would lock the unicorn down as a committed life partner. I would not marry her (I don't believe in marriage). I would have many offspring with her. I would live happily ever after. What's the point of breaking up with her? You'd only be going on the same quest of sleeping with less quality girls for the sake of novelty and there's a chance you may never meet a unicorn of this calibre ever again.

RE: If you met your unicorn what would you do?
All this talk of "unicorns" is silly and misguided in two ways, which are related to each other, and related to the general male delusions about female nature.

It imagines, first, that all girls and women in the West (and increasingly elsewhere) have been "corrupted" in some almost mystical way that renders them permanently useless as potential mates and mothers of one's children. And it imagines, additionally, that there exist rare creatures -- these so-called "unicorns" -- that by some miracle of character and upbringing have been spared the "corruption". And, interestingly, while such unicorns are supposed to be quite rare, you only need to scratch a dude a little for him to confess that he's certainly met them -- and as often as not, it just so happens that his current girlfriend/LTR is a certifiable "unicorn" if ever there was one. It is positively astonishing how many irredeemably bad qualities women in general are known to have -- and yet how often the actual female the man is with right at the moment shows no evidence whatsoever of any of these flaws.

I wrote about this before in a thread about the "7 qualities of the future mother of my children", in response to another forum member's enthusiasm about his own "unicorn":

(11-04-2015 09:15 AM)The Lizard of Oz Wrote:  There are certainly some nice girls out there, and it may be that you found one of them. But when I see a dude being able to go on and on enumerating every single feminine virtue his girl has, with scarcely a single flaw to be found -- she's even really nice on her period! -- and intimating that this catalog of virtues is only the merest tip of the iceberg, I feel pretty sure that he is not viewing her through an entirely objective lens.

I think one of the lessons of this thread is that men are very ready to recognize flaws in women in general -- but when it comes to your girl, at least in the romance stage of the relationship, well, she's different. And that's just how men are. To quote Parlay's timeless wisdom:

(09-02-2015 06:35 AM)Parlay44 Wrote:  It's natural to get all whipped up on a girl. It's also natural for women to be cum-guzzling gutter whores. To change that you have to fight against nature.

I don't expect this very fundamental part of male nature to change; fighting against nature is mostly futile. But it doesn't hurt to recognize this tendency in both oneself and others and to try to correct for it to the limited extent it's possible.

Too many guys are all too willing to believe that a girl who was (supposedly) a virgin when they met her, who treats them well, does not abuse them often, is affectionate, and gives them decent or even enthusiastic sex -- is some angel sent from the heavens who can do no wrong, a being very different from the wretched common run of womenfolk. And it's hard to blame men for believing this because that is what nature wants us to believe, having the continuation of the species in mind.

In truth, the differences in women which men imagine to be differences in kind are often only differences in degree, circumstance, and time of life. The same girl who was so sweet, feminine, submissive and passionate in the romance stage of a relationship becomes a nag, a harridan, or even an outright monster as the years wear on and she is restless and bored with her man; and conversely, a girl who seemed like a vapid slut settles down, finds the right guy, and becomes an acceptable or even a good wife and mother. Both things happen, and they cannot always be predicted, even by outside observers who consider themselves astute judges of character -- let alone by men who are involved with these women and whose perceptions of them can be distorted to the point of delusion.

It's best to realize that most women are what they are; almost all of them are, as the great old phrase goes, no better than they should be. None are "unicorns", but many can be acceptable mates and mothers under the right circumstances, since this is, after all, what nature has intended them to be. One can do one's best in making a choice and taking all possible precautions, but there is a great deal of pure luck involved and that had better be accepted at the outset. And it's good to fight against the tendency -- as natural as it is -- to believe that the particular girl one happens to be with is some exceedingly rare and unusual creature. For better and for worse, she probably isn't: quite a few others are capable of enacting her -- very exaggerated -- virtues; and she, in turn, is more than capable of enacting their -- only slightly exaggerated -- flaws.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

RE: If you met your unicorn what would you do?
IF I was ready to have kids AND she had Mother of My Children/unicorn qualities:

1. I'd spend 1-2 years filtering her out hardcore and then knock her up. No marriage in US. Overseas locations maybe depending on legal/cultural conditions.

2. I would continue to sport fuck chicks from time to time.

3. She would know upfront that #2 is non-negotiable. She and the children get provisioning. I get sex with a variety of women. Everyone wins.

4. If she happens to forget about or not like #3 at a later point, she goes bye bye. If she actually gave me her best years for two decades and raised the kids, I would give her a small pay off to start a new life. No lifetime maintenance obviously.

If I wasn't ready for kids:

1. Pound that pussy until I get bored.

1. Step, spit, get the instadate, get the bang.
2. Keep banging and get her to do more shit for me. Course correct her behavior as needed.
3. Never slack on myself, never slack on bringing new chicks into the mix.

So even if you're dumb enough to go exclusive, you're still very social. And if you can't go out, have a good time, meet new people when you have a chick - you need to work on your game. Because she can multi-task. She'll have drinks with friends, go out with co-workers, get involved in hobbies and meet ups. Even homebodies got a book club.

A woman's life is social, especially if she's attractive.

Men typically are not. That's why they atrophy and die.

If you let her monopolize all of your time - so that it's just you reacting to her and her events - she's fucking you over w/o realizing it. None of that shit is malicious, but it will encircle you and attack you when you least expect it.

She can't be the center of your activity.

How you get her, is how you keep her. PERIOD.

When you start bitching up, stifling yourself, compromising, kowtowing to her needs in place of your own - that's when you lose.

Happens every time.
I had to get burned twice in a row to learn that lesson.

A man doesn't have the luxury of resting.

There is no 50's style blue pill America dream utopia when you find your "unicorn".

There never was.

Why is it so easy to go there. Its happened to me a few times. Each time it ends in disaster and defeat, everyone is hurt, and no one is happy. It affects every part of your life, whether you know it or not.

Sometimes chicks take an active role, and they don't want you hanging out with certain friends. But Allah forbid you mention the same...

Going into an LTR w/your eyes open, and actively managing her unconscious attempts to turn you into a bitch is hard as fuck. It will always be easier to juggle 4-5 chicks than to manage 1.

It's one of the last areas of "pick up"/game that needs a lot more exploration.

Shame, Dread, Married Man Sex Life...yadda yadda yadda - those just scratch the surface.

Considering the depth and breadth of material on how to get a chick in the sack the first night, what exists on surviving and running a good relationship is quite paltry.

Totally true. There are books and methods that do work, but you have to be so on top of your shit at all times, its really draining, and frankly boring after a while. And one sappy slip up can wipe it all out with one butthurt jealous text. When the unicorn arrives, you have to know what you want. You have to know that if she is there, you will go after it, and not waver. If you want to make kids, you cant mess that up. You have to fully commit, to yourself first.

Also an important point. You simply MUST have a drive and ambition that goes beyond women. Mine came to be greed....and that aggressive hustle is very visibly a turnon even when it causes inconvenience. It's a delicate balancing act that varies from girl to girl.

Another piece of aadvice I would offer is that nobody can turn you into a pussy or a simp. If that happens it just means that your "game" was just a facade. It was something you did not what you are.

Like they say the game is IN YOU NOT ON YOU. When it's in you then it can't even he stopped by yourself.

The social life you have to give better looking women is exhausting. They need constant stimulation, like a dog.

parties, weddings, trips, dinner parties, good times, etc... If you want to read a book on philosophy then take a nap....well she's going to have to change that.

You work a job during the day, then you have to go home and maintain your relationship. Sleep is your only time of peace.

When you're single, gaming is optional. When you're married, gaming is mandatory.

Depends, at this stage, I might have to pass her up because my eyes and heart aren't totally into a relationship. I have other focuses, but if I wanted a family, then I'd start a family.

Preferably living abroad and sending my kid to the best international schools in that country so that he could get an education comparable to a Western one, but without all the SJW bullshit.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

Or homeschool.

Now that I think of it girls who want to homeschool are pretty consistently awesome. It reflects both a disagreement with society's values and a strong maternal instinct.

menopause at 44? Goddamn, that's rough. One more reason to never marry, although since you got her at 21 I figure it was still worth it.

It varies with women, some have a worse time with it than others, but Peri-menopause often starts to kick in about the early 40's. You're basically dealing with a drug addict in withdrawl, the drug in this case being estrogen and other female hormones. In less than a year your wife can go from extolling your virtues to all her friends to not being able to stand you touch her.

Lovejoy - as there are very few forum members here who are (or were) married for so long (with children as well) it would be interesting to hear your story with more specifics.

You say she passed all your tests, you married her when she was 21, there was an 11 year age gap between you both, and you had 2 children together. To me that seems like an excellent set-up for the marriage to hold and be solid, but in your case it didn't, even if 24 years is a damn long time.

Can you explain exactly what things changed in her ?

And what exactly lead to the divorce ?

It would be of benefit to know these things for everyone here thinking that if we test, and then marry a girl young enough, and get her pregnant soon, it should be enough to keep the marriage together.

It doesn't mean you can't find a woman who's not marriage material. It just means women are flawed human beings like the rest of us...just following a different script.

The "unicorn" idea is the result of too much black and white thinking. In this view women are either evil malicious whores or perfect, infallible beings. Neither is the case.
