Edit: On Westworld, I'm of a similar opinion. Not a fan of female leads

Sure the girl gets the most screen time, but Anthony Hopkins is the lead.

Literally in the last 2 days I've had 2 friends recommend it to me, I'll give it an ep or 2 and decide for myself

Fresh off the boat is quite funny. The Asian wife is a definite WB. Has anyone seen Orange is the New Black? I couldnt watch ten minutes of it.

RE: The TV Series Thread
I recently finished "Under the Dome" (I only watched it cause I used to live close to where parts of it were filmed) It was the worst series ever... Had a pretty interesting concept but some mediocre acting and cheesy bits made it pretty unbearable but I was to invested in it to stop watching. :Spoilers: It really lost me when that criminal drug lord chick came out of no where then started having pit fights and such..... fucking rubbish mate.

It's come to my attention recently that I need to watch Black Mirror, so I watched the first episode tonight... it's interesting

I liked Under the Dome for the first few episodes, then it got tired and stupid.
I watched the first 3 episodes of Black Mirror, I just couldn't get into it. I'll do some more episodes later to see if I'm feeling it.

Finished watching 1st season of Man in the High Castle. Awesome series with elements of story which are familiar to me and I like that.

I caught that for the first time last weekend at a friend's house. I was impressed right away - I noted that they were filming it live in Colombia. For that fact alone, I tip my hat to them.

Interesting series on Escobar. Sadly, I don't have HBO. I guess I will have to catch future episodes in another format.

RE: The TV Series Thread
I just watched the first 4 episodes of WestWorld back to back. Its about a western theme park populated by lifelike androids where people go to live out their fantasies.

Lots of customers treat the park like a videogame and go on killing and fucking rampages, so the central theme is how the robots react when they develop a glitch and realise what is going on. Not surprisingly some of them freak out at being killed and raped over and over again.

Some hilarious moments and hot women naked all over the place. Its a high quality production with Anthony Hopkins in a lead role.

I think its a better commentary on videogame mentality than Far Cry 3 or Spec Ops: The Line for those who remember the controversies of those designers trying to get players to understand how messed up their actions are.

Definitely worth checking out.

Edit: Just realised people spent a page discussing this show already (facepalm). Well I stand by my analysis.

Where can you find FOB season 1&2? Season 3 is hilarious.

WB Eddie's mom.

Also, Person of Interest is the shit. Great show. It predicted the NSA tracking program....2 years before Snowden.

On which season of POI are you? Not only they predicted, depictions of programs in series is completely accurate. Unfortunately some people think its just conspiracy theory, but this stuff exists from 2001.

RE: The TV Series Thread
Anyone have recommendation for a TV series I should start to watch? I have considered one of the following:

Strain
Mad Men
Hannibal
Homeland
From dusk till dawn

Criteria that this series is fun to watch and good quality. Genre basically don't matter.
P.S. already watching GOT, Vikings, Sherlock and Mr. Robot.

^Mad men was painful to watch. Didnt make it past one Homeland episode. Please watch Spartacus, Breaking Bad, Narcos and Boardwalk Empire if you havent.

Why was mad men painful? See that series constantly recommended as a good example of Game (D.D.) so I put it in Criteria. Breaking Bad I watched and most of Boardwalk Empire, not interested in Spartacus and Narcos.

Btw, what about Blacklist?

Check out Fargo.

Mad Men and Homeland from your list are both good. I have watched some of The Strain and Blacklist and they are both pretty low quality compared to others mentioned.

Some others I liked:
True Detective
Boardwalk Empire
Leftovers
Utopia (UK)
House Of Cards
Black Mirror

Fargo is my favorite TV series, especially first season because of focus on the beta character who becomes red pilled alpha at the end.

Nothing happens on Mad Men!

Yeah sure the acting, costumes and setting are flawless but really plot wise it sent me to sleep. I watched all 7 seasons expecting Don to jump out the window.

Like someone posted before Mad Men moves at the speed of a snail on super glue.
