Remember those rape charges in Sweden?

Remember when people said it was a ruse to get Assange out of the country and into the loving arms of a FED super max prison?

RE: Julian Assange thread
Trump Lawyer Giuliani say Julian Assange Should Not Be Prosecuted

So said Rudy Giuliani during Fox News interview on Monday (December, 30th).

How his opinion may affect the DOJs sealed indictment of Assange for publishing classified documents is unclear. But this is the most optimistic note from the President's Office in recent months for defenders of Assange's freedom to publish as WikiLeaks founder and publisher.

Assange is in Ecuador's London Embassy, in refuge against British warrants for his arrest.

Here is an extract from the account of Giuliani's interview that appeared at Zero Hedge:
Quote:Rudy Giuliani, a lawyer for President Donald Trump, said Monday that WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange had not done “anything wrong” and should not go to jail for disseminating stolen information just as major media does.

“Let’s take the Pentagon Papers,” Giuliani told Fox News.

“The Pentagon Papers were stolen property, weren’t they? It was in The New York Times and The Washington Post. Nobody went to jail at The New York Times and The Washington Post.”

Giuliani said there were “revelations during the Bush administration” such as Abu Ghraib. “All of that is stolen property taken from the government, it’s against the law. But once it gets to a media publication, they can publish it,” Giuliani said, “for the purpose of informing people.”

“You can’t put Assange in a different position,” he said.

“He was a guy who communicated.”

Giuliani said, “We may not like what [Assange] communicates, but he was a media facility. He was putting that information out,” he said.

“Every newspaper and station grabbed it, and published it.”

The U.S. government has admitted that it has indicted Assange for publishing classified information, but it is battling in court [LINK in original] to keep the details of the indictment secret. As a lawyer and close advisor to Trump, Giuliani could have influence on the president’s and the Justice Department’s thinking on Assange. [EMPHASIS ADDED]

If Julian is not prosecuted, does this mean he could possibly be helped by the U.S? It would help the country if he unleashes more dirty info. He struck a nerve with the Democrats after revealing Hillary's plan to sabotage Bernie and split her party in terms of votes. I'm sure he's got stuff on Republicans when they get bad.

Everytime this comes up for discussion by the MSM they always say he is a right piece of work and is a fugitive from justice for what he did in Sweden.

These are the same cucks who suck up to Muslims and globalists lies as well so no surprise. Imagine my shock when he ends up in some comfy FED supermax.

RE: Julian Assange thread
As expected, Assange has been arrested.

Quote:WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arrested by police in the UK.

The 47-year-old was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

He was arrested on a warrant issued by Westminster Magistrates' Court on 29 June 2012, for failing to surrender to the court.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said he has been taken into custody at a central London police station where he will remain, before being presented before Westminster Magistrates' Court as soon as is possible.

The police said they were invited into the embassy by the Ambassador, following the Ecuadorian government's withdrawal of asylum.

Julian Assange first came to international prominence in 2010 when WikiLeaks, the organisation which he founded, released tens of thousands of classified military and diplomatic documents in what was the biggest leak in US military history.

It sent shockwaves throughout the political and military worlds. US soldier Chelsea Manning would go on to be convicted in relation to the case, imprisoned and subsequently pardoned.

As the leak was being investigated, Swedish authorities launched an inquiry relating to allegations of sexual assault against Julian Assange.

He denied the allegations and said he feared the changes were a ruse to get him extradited to Sweden to the US in relation to the Wikileaks material.

As a result, he sought refuge in the Ecuadorean Embassy, breaking bail conditions which had been imposed in the UK.

In 2017 Swedish authorities dropped their investigation into Mr Assange saying that all possibilities to conduct an investigation had been exhausted. But a British arrest warrant in relation to him breaching his bail conditions by taking refuge in the Embassy still stood.

He lost his bid to have the arrest warrant dropped.

In October last year, Mr Assange said he was to take legal action against the government of Ecuador, accusing it of violating his "fundamental rights and freedoms".

The move came several months after Ecuador cut off communications for Mr Assange.

WikiLeaks tweeted in response to today's arrest saying Ecuador had "illegally terminated" Julian Assange's political asylum.

RE: Julian Assange thread
According to the Ecuadorian president, the UK has guaranteed he's not to be extradited to a country where he might face torture or the death penalty (i.e. the USA).

I suppose the UK could get around that by just extraditing him to Sweden or having the USA guarantee he won't get the death penalty (which he wouldn't get anyways). Torture of some type, well, who would believe any government? Remember, it's not torture if your government says it's not torture (see: waterboarding).

Assange was a fool for not going to Sweden years ago. Even if he was convicted of those bullshit rape charges (they may have been too fake for even a Swedish judge to uphold), he'd have been out of a slack Swedish prison by now, long before the USA had made serious charges against him.

Now he might be facing life in some hellhole federal supermax.

Shame. I would have loved to see 1000 men walk into the embassy and 1001 Muslim women in burka bodybags bum rush the exit.

It's easy to say that now. Did anyone imagine this would last as long as it did?

He probably hoped that so-called journalists would cover this story and keep the public riled up. They didn't. He was basically forgotten until now.

It used to be part of my job how to advise clients how to play extradition warrants. You're in a tough situation, you have to make tough choices.

I thought it back when he went into the Ecuadorian embassy, and looks like I was right, particularly if the warrant for Assange's arrest by the USA wasn't issued until 2017, and it is only for the Manning leaks. He'd have been long free of Sweden by 2017. He wasted years of his life going crazy in the embassy and ultimately fucked himself over.

I don't think the Obama administration wanted to prosecute Assange for the Manning leaks. There's a big press freedom / First Amendment issue, and Obama commuted Manning's military sentence to a small fraction of what the court martial imposed.

Imagine my absolute shock it has nothing to do with some slut in Sweden after all this time! Imagine if the British police gave that money to investigate actual rape gangs in british towns and cities which continue to this day.

This is the Trump admin, not Obama.

This is like a Monty Python sketch and to top it off you have the clowns of the British police doing the bidding as usual.

This is the final litmus test for Trump for many I would say. If he does not pardon Assange then thats it. However we cant be having such people out leaking important information now can we? Afterall The Chinese learned from the best in the business didn't they?
