They don't want it for the same reasons.

They want it to feel loved, attractive, submissive, ECT.

I think for the most part men enjoy sex because it feels good.

I think we like it because it feels good, but it is also an act of accomplishment. Women physically and emotionally submit to men when having sex. Men get a mental high off knowing that we're found attractive, just like women do. I think it affirms who we are, as desirable and capable individuals.

RE: Do women want sex more or less than men?
Think about some of wilder things that get women off:

- Being bent over a mans knees and spanked
- Being humiliated sexually (leashes, etc.)
- Being choked during sex to the point of passing out
- Being slapped until they're red in the face
- Being spat on, pissed on etc.
- Being bitten, whipped, lashed etc.
- A group of strong men having their way with her and not considering her pleasure.

Why did 50 shades of grey outsell the bible and Harry Potter in the UK? What did women find inside those pages that they couldn't find elsewhere in their lives?

Experiences.

All of those things are experiences that throw her helplessly into her emotions and feelings. If you get into a woman's head and pull the right strings you can bring the puppet to life. From there on, 8 times in a night won't be enough.

She'll need to go back to that place constantly to feel alive, even for those 5 to 10 minutes, and she'll take that with her forever. Do that consistently and she won't know what to do without your dick in her hand. The guy that knows how to pull those strings correctly won't ever want sex more than she does.

I think this is a good question cause it rightfully turns into a discussion of the differences in the sexes and out motivations for sex. That's just my take on it.

Girls as a whole are horny little sluts. They just hide it better. Girls have a lot of stuff inside that's hidden and needs to be brought out.

Bringing it out of them is the trick. A lot of them want you to bring it out for them.

Let me get scientific on you guys to prove a point. Testosterone drives sex drive in men and women, estrogen makes women feminine but does not drive sex drive. Men have a lot more testosterone than women due to the testes, that is why we are more masculine, aggressive and have exponentially higher sex drives. Men tend to initiate sex more for this reason, and tend to desire it more on a physiologic level.

Ok but why are women constantly available and willing to get fucked? To the point where a lot of guys are actually put off by how easy it is to get laid?

I'd say women are pretty horny. Even when I ask them they say yes they are very horny. Girls love dick.

Or maybe I just get the really horny ones. In any case who needs the ones who aren't?

RE: Do women want sex more or less than men?
Yes and no, and where yes, in different ways than men, because women are not the same as men.

The average skank you're hunting in the club or on the street will have nowhere near the desire to immediately bang you as the average man has to bang her. This is because she has no connection to him. For women, it is all about emotions, feelings, the wider emotional context of what is happening. This can include casual encounters which are on the more dirty and degenerate end of the spectrum, the emotions triggered by the the experience deep in her hind brain.

In my experience most powerful sexual desire in a woman is stimulated when she is relatively inexperienced, combined with an unpredictable, throwback alpha boyfriend/FB that she deeply wishes to tie down but can't, or some similar situation. The man in this case is a balance between indifferent, no bullshit alpha and occasional sensitivity with a deep understanding of her psyche as no one else. Against the backdrop of such a relationship, it's possible to turn a "normal", conservative girl both crazy in a general sense and sex crazy. Some of these relationships have been almost like a closer father-daughter dynamic. If the sex is a genuine, extremely passionate mixture between dirty and unbridled dominance, and unpredictable, occasional tenderness, she will be left with a lizard brain explosion. She might even reject Justin Bieber to remain faithful to you. No guarantees on that one though razz

RE: Do women want sex more or less than men?
In my experience a woman's libido has a momentum to it. (I'm talking about the average woman, not sluts here.) If they're single their libido can sort of go dormant, but when they start a relationship then their libido grows and grows, sort of like becoming hooked on a drug.

Women have the physical capacity for more sex and more orgasms in a 24-hours period than men, but when they actually get a guy, usually they aren't satisfied properly by him due to his poor technique. I don't think men can really relate to that because a) it's so easy for us to get off the first time and b) we have to deal with the dreaded refractory period.

I find it very hard to conceive of what it would be like to be able to string up a chain of unlimited back-to-back orgasms. It sounds like it would be like having a free supply of heroin. I don't know if that would make me more likely to want sex all the time or to take it for granted. For a guy, we have to try to make the most of each of our orgasms because they are fewer and far between.

Great post, I think this is a great insight on the "common" situation when girls are around guys, guys meet girls, etc.

I used to buy the idea that "a woman knows within 30 seconds if she'll bang you" --- she doesn't. It's a boasting conversation piece meant to stress how much power they have, that they are the gatekeepers (the only part of that which is true).

The only thing close to that idea is only that a "man knows if you break some threshold" , when considering a woman, for banging in a given scenario.

As is with women, it's retrospective hamstering. I'm sure of it since many report not being attracted to a guy at an initial meet, then later for whatever reason, allowing it to go down.

Because their input for attraction is so fluid, and not really a high proportion based on physical attractiveness, they can easily say they were attracted to the guy they fucked later on, and not be "lying."

RE: Do women want sex more or less than men?
Rollo wrote a great article on this.

Women & Sex:
Quote:One of the single most annoying tropes I read / hear from men (more so than women) is the “Women are just as / more sexual than men” canard. Nothing stops me in my tracks more abruptly than reading this line parroted back in some form by a self-effacing white knight trying to convince himself, hope against hope, that it could be true. This is a VERY effective feminine social convention, even internalized and spouted back by the likes of more than a few infamous PUAs. This fantasy belongs among the higher order social convention myths like the Myth of Sexual Peak. Just a rudimentary knowledge of female biology is all that’s needed to deconstruct the myth.

Women are more sexual than men, but they are repressed due to a lack of “trust”.

Patently false. A healthy male produces between 12 to 17 times the amount of testosterone a woman does. It is a biological impossibility for a woman to want sex as much as, or as often as men. Trust me, when a woman says, “I don’t understand why sex is so important to guys” she’s speaking the literal truth. No woman will ever experience 17 times the amount of her own testosterone levels (barring steroids). Amongst its many other effects, testosterone is the primary hormone involved with stimulating human libido. I should also add that, on average, and barring environmental variables, a mans testosterone only declines 1% per year beyond age 40, so even at age 60 the average, healthy male is only dealing with an average 20% deficit in testosterone.

Critics of this observation like to argue that, for female sexual response and arousal, testosterone isn’t the only factor to consider. To which I’ll agree, however it is the PRIMARY factor in sexual response. A woman cannot possibly understand what 12 to 17 times their present amount of testosterone could feel like without steroid use. In fact the first effect female bodybuilders report when cycling anabolic steroids is a 100 fold increase in sexual interest and libido. So in terms of natural female hormonal / biochemical response there is no unaltered way a woman could ever make an accurate comparison to what a man’s baseline libido is in relation to her own. Women’s sexual desire is also cyclical. Even at the peak of her ovulatory cycle, when she’s at her horniest, she’ll never experience what men do 24 hours a day. This is the root of the myth, and the source of the social convention.

Other critics would erroneously argue that estrogen plays a part in female sexual arousal. They’d be wrong.

Estrogen does ‘control’ libido – for men: Estrogen Have a look at the Functions section here. And while you’re at it you may want to have a look at Testosterone; and in particular this:

Like men, women rely on testosterone to maintain libido, bone density and muscle mass throughout their lives. In men, estrogens simply lower testosterone, decrease muscle mass, stunt growth in teenagers, introduce gynecomastia, increase feminine characteristics, and decrease susceptibility to prostate cancer. Sexual desire is dependent on androgen levels rather than estrogen levels.

I also understand that female sexuality functions differently than male sexuality, but this only reinforces my point. Women’s sexuality is cyclic, not only on a monthly schedule, but also over periods of a lifetime (menopause, and peak fertility for instance). There are periods over a month and a lifetime where sexual desire waxes and wanes, (healthy) men’s stays relatively constant from puberty to about age 40. Women are slower to arouse, they tend to need more than just visual stimulation, and there is definitely a psychological element (they need a fantasy) necessary. Men only need visual stimulation and minimal feedback to get aroused (i.e. porn).

It should come as no shock that post-menopausal hormone therapies use testosterone to boost women’s flagging libidos too. When women are at the peaks of their ovulatory cycles, low and behold they experience a sharp spike in testosterone levels in order to facilitate pregnancy and then it gets flushed out during menstruation. You can debate about how best to get a woman’s testosterone flowing, but it’s testosterone that’s needed to prompt a sexual response.

Now the real question is, why would such a popular myth be such a useful social convention? Think about it. It sexualizes women, while not making them outright sluts. They can avoid the stigma of promiscuity while presenting the fantasy that they are secretly “more sexual” than they are “allowed” to be, if only they could meet a man skilled enough to bring this out in them. It’s a sexual selection convention. The fantasy is that women are really these wolves in sheep’s clothing for the right guy. To an extent this is true. Studies do indicate that women in their peak fertility window do in fact aggressively seek out Alpha males for conventional sexual encounters. However, again, the root of this social convention is in the presumption that “women are just as sexual as men”, which is simply not the case considering the conditionality of the female sexual response.

No self-interested Man is ever going to be encouraged to refute the idea that women are equally preoccupied with, equally aroused as, or equally desirous of sex as men are. We love the fantasy that women are secretly yearning for sex with us, if only society were more open and accepting of feminine sexuality. Yet, in the same breath we’ll hear about how slutty and aggressive women have become in the fall of western society by the same guys. It’s ironic, but it gives guys hope that if they can find the secret formula to unleashing the sexual beast within every woman he’ll find this insatiable she-devil to pair off with monogamously. If women were men’s sexual equals, why would they not be given to the same drives that conflict with monogamy? Imagine a world where women are as horny as men. Think of a gay bath house and you might have a workable model.

Women of course love to encourage and reinforce this social convention because it sounds like empowerment in the face of patriarchal sexual oppression (yes, we’d be more sexual if you’d only allow us to you evil men), while at the same time tacitly acknowledging that it turns men into white knight sympathizers of the cause (i.e. feminine entitlement and primacy).

The point of my starting this topic wasn’t to debate whether or not women are sexual at all – obviously they are – however it was my intent to draw attention to the canard that women (and their would-be male identifiers) would like everyone to believe, “women are just as / more sexual than men”. No woman can make a realistic assessment about that unless she’s had 12 -17 times her natural testosterone levels increased and lived in a man’s biological condition. Just on the face of it the assertion is silly, but as I said, for women it’s empowering to think that women are “just as sexual” as men. And female-identifiers are all too happy to reinforce that meme because it offers them the hope of getting laid with one of these ‘sexually repressed’ women.

I used to buy the idea that "a woman knows within 30 seconds if she'll bang you"

Just because skanks have minimal filtering mechanisms doesn't mean they don't still want sex, otherwise they wouldn't be in the club in the first place. It's just that their desire to bang is more abstract, where they wait for the tingles to happen with "Mister Right-Now™". Guys just classify all the women in the club that are HB5+ as suitable targets.

I think it's probably true that men feel a more visceral itch to clean the pipes, so to speak, but again, skanks would not be putting themselves on display unless on some level they wanted to hookup.

RE: Do women want sex more or less than men?
I highly recommend the book sex at dawn for those more interested in this issue. The entier presmise of the book is basically the same question as this thread. It really delves deep into this taboo issue and comes to the conclusion that the whole "women want sex less because of more investment in the baby etc"" is all a bunch of pop culture bullshit and in fact women are way hornier then men.

I see a lot posts here to the likes of "if women were as horny as men we'd be having sex nonstop." Well guess what its like back at basecamp in hunter-gatherer society after a days work ......

He examines the history of tribes before agriculture and the modern day tribes that still have shunned or have not been contacted by modern society as well as our closest genetic cousins like the bonobs and chimps to extrapolate the true nature of sex without all the societal bullshit that masks the core today.

He comes to many conclusions including:
  • Women are able to experience multiple orgasms which is strong evidence that back in the day orgies of multiple dudes hitting one woman was the norm. (i.e. women being able to experience multiple orgasms is natures way of encouraging them to have sex with multiple dudes at the same time)
  • The screaming women do during sex is actually a mating call inviting other men to join in (Bonobos show the same behavior)
  • Sex for women was not transactional in hunter gatherer societies as you may expect but served the purpose of bonding together the tribe. Women weren't "picking" dudes like todays modern liberal societies.
  • Neither men nor women are wired to be monogamous.

In the end the question of "are women hornier than men" isn't totally answered but what is answered is the modern day view that women enjoy sex less then me and view sex as transactional and therefore have the upperhand in dating/sex the modern day society is not because of nature but because of social dynamics.

Interesting topic.

On a lighter note I would try to maintain a mentality that women do want to fuck to help you with your game.

RE: Do women want sex more or less than men?
I think that women use sex as a tool to get what they want aside from pleasure. So they have logical reason "why" to have sex, it's not only for pleasure.

I also think they enjoy much more sex. Most men would not even have sex if it isnt for that validation. They would rather jerk off to porn. Women are not like that.

So my answer is yes, they want more sex than men, but unlike us, they can have negative consequences for sex.

Also, I agree what Vicious said.
