The money you pay is not for superior quality or anything else valuable but solely for sponsoring their athletes. Some people may think the image of the athletes is transferred to them if they wear it, but I hope nobody in this forum believes this.

If wearing ADIDAS helps you connect to the ATHLETE ARCHETYPE, you should WEAR IT. A brand can be a gateway to an archetype is you need one. Think Nike and their "JUST DO IT" slogan, or Lance and his bracelets. (I think both of the campaigns are misguided though).

That ad is complete shit. It's completely off-brand - it has nothing to do with what adidas stands for as a brand. Shitty aesthetic. Looks really retro, like something from the 70ies. An old-people home? Why the hell should adidas use something like that. If i worked for adidas I would have thrown this video in the trash can after 3 sec. As you probably know adidas is currently surfing the Yeezy wave. That's the complete opposite of what that video is all about. I really have absolutely no clue why someone would think that adidas should have bought that ad and aired it.

Style-wise adidas sucks balls, so does Nike and Puma.

Wear Kappa, Fila or Diadora. Italian brands ftw

If you don't think Air Jordans are fly, you have no concept of style period. This is the shit that gets pussies wet. Nike for life. Though addidas can be acceptable.

RE: Adidas Too Busy Virtue-Signalling About SJW Issues To Notice One Of The Best Ads Ever
In the 80s Benetton ran an advertisement campaign showing AIDS patients;
According to what many say here the company's target audience would be AIDS patients only.

It is certainly not so. An ad campaign with minimal or no target audience shows strength ("belief in the product" for the more business minded) and that the company does not care only about money. It communicates "we are so good we don't need to advertise our products directly".

The ad with the old runner is "problematic" in the sjw sense, in that it is not "current-year" enough, it is not about some -phobia, it is about persons of "priviledged" background etc.. Essentially it is not negative (eg. showing some freak) or virtue signalling enough.

I personally don't care that the ad doesn't pander Adidas' "target audience". In fact any ad that doesn't do that will draw my interest more than any that does; it is a good thing if you do not belong to anyone's "target audience".

That ad would be good publicity for Adidas in every sense. (it has a positive message and has currently 8.733.381 views). If they chose "straight" (eg. "this is our shoe, buy it") or "negative" (eg. "we support drug addict trans freaks") I won't shed a tear. Hopefully they'll come to their senses if they lose money. (Most probably they will not though).

The good thing is that the young director did a good job and shows promise.

I also don't know anyone period who wears third rate Italian sportswear. They should just stick to suits and sports cars.

If done right, all those brands that you said suck can be easily pulled off. Especially for shoes.

I have a pair of these:

And they're great casual shoes that can be paired with many things. Nike and Puma have a lot of stuff like that. All three of those companies also have plenty of nice workout clothing.

Now I certainly can't argue with you if there's a guy walking around like this:
