No offense, all defense. They called the videos fake news in the first question, that was an easy chance to turn it around and call the channel 4 news 'fake news'.

Farage played fairly well in this interview and acted more like a mainstream politician. However, I think the way we should condemn far-right or racism to get our argument accepted is a weak approach.

Second this ^^ the argument becomes completely diluted at it still gives the opposition control of the frame.
However large segments of the British populations are left wing and moderate due to their protestant outlook on matters.
Even if they are against immigration, the likes of Farrage are wise to make it all appear cuddly and soft. In reality, I don't believe a single politician in the U.K has an irrational or dangerous approach to immigration.

The situation is so far gone that advocating stricter border controls is just common sense.

On an another note, there seems to be some issues between the metropolitan police and conservative party. Problem with cuts made to the police is that, they know where the bodies are buried ultimately. This infighting would just solidify Corbyn's anticipated rise to power next year.

Have to respect the man for going forward despite being made to look like a fool constantly.

Edit, I strongly suggest to our British brothers, that they begin to make soft investments. Or career choices that would endure under a Corbyn government. Even if this means migrating themselves overseas at some point.

I've been giving Nigel Farage a bit of stick recently, but he was good there, fair play. That thing in the purple dress was insufferable.

RE: British Politics Thread
This new Brexit deal was hailed by conservative media, the PM and the Tories as some success story but it will be only a matter of time before it reveals itself to be a bad one.

The Tory Mps who went against their party to get a vote - siding with the socialist bloc no less, should be de-selected and purged. MAny MPs are saying its doing democracy justice by having MPs do a vote. Someone forgot to tell them the democratic process is made by the people and not the servants elected to carry out that will.

This is what poisons the hearts and minds of those who are conservative in a national sense and leads to a "theres no democracy" argument.

Does this look like a situation where the Brits are leading the charge or on their knees begging?

Twitter has launched a new wave of attack on Right-wing accounts in Britain today targeting Britain First and Generation Identity accounts.

After Trump retweeting from Jayda Fransen (Deputy Leader of Britain First), the number of her followers tripled and reached to more than 90K. Today her account along with the party leader, Paul Golding, with their party's official account was suspended.

At the same time, t[/code]he following official accounts of Generation Identity UK/ÉIRE have been either suspended or restricted:

@gen_identity
@GenIdentEngland
@G_Identity_Alba

Fuck, they're not even trying to hide it anymore. This is the most obvious case of Twitter promoting it's politics above everything else I've seen.

It sounds like the accounts are temporarily suspended? what do Britain First have to say about the situation? I'm seeing the mainstream media have actually reported on this, even though it makes Twitter and all of the left wing look bad.

The male lead of Britain First is being targeted by the police all of a sudden if you didn't know. Suddenly they get warrants and investigations thrown their way when a light is shone in their direction and they're not the monsters the media and others make them out to be.

In other news I want to highlight again to you guys the danger we're facing in the UK: Momentum.

https://news.sky.com/story/labour-counci...t-11174573

Quote:Labour councillors accuse Momentum of a purge amid internal battle between left and right

Sitting councillors have been de-selected, or chosen not to stand again, because new members want a more left-wing agenda.

Over the past two years, Jeremy Corbyn's foot soldiers, led by a movement called Momentum, have transformed the Labour Party, creating an internal battle between the left and the right.

Though quieter than it once was, the civil war has not stopped.

Ground Zero of that war is Haringey in north London.

In the last fortnight, no fewer than 15 sitting councillors have been de-selected, or chosen not to stand again, because many of the thousands of new members want a more left-wing agenda.

The programme I watched a few weeks ago about Labour leading up to and after the recent GE for the UK mentions this pro-socialism, pro-together (SJW) mantra and is purging those who were against Corbyn and a compelte socialist take over.

Hmm, sounds like Common Purpose.

Also sounds like what always happens before a full-on socialist takeover happens and we cannot afford to see this occur IMO, not with a weak sitting government a set of crisis' away from being booted out.

The PM had to sack a long term ally because of porn found on work computers. He lied about it too.

https://news.sky.com/story/damian-green-...s-11179042

Its looking good for those who want to undermine the PM by ridding her of her cohort. Whats a leader without their left and right hand commanders? A very good win for the movement to create a picture of a government in trouble.

I wonder what could happen if a sitting government can no longer govern.

Time to bring back Capital Punishment?

"A jihadi bride who fled to Syria to join ISIS has defeated the Government’s attempt to stop her returning to Britain.

The 27-year-old was stripped of her British citizenship after spending more than two years in Syria, marrying a jihadi and giving birth to two children.

But the woman, who was born in Enfield, North London, to Bangladeshi parents, has won the right to keep her British passport – despite being deemed a national security threat ‘due to her extremist views’."

RE: British Politics Thread
Quote:Labour is "staking out the centre ground in British politics", Jeremy Corbyn has said in a new year message.

Mr Corbyn said the prospect of a "new Britain" was "closer than ever" and he was leading a "government in waiting".

The left wing veteran promised to use 2018 to help people "fulfil their hopes" in a future where "we all share the wealth we create".

Labour defied predictions of a landslide defeat in the 2017 general election to secure a hung parliament.

The result saw Prime Minister Theresa May lose her Commons majority, but the Conservatives remain the largest party.

The Labour leader also used the message to attack a "failed system" of governance and "stagnant economy" of wealth disparity run by a "self-serving elite".

The 2017 general election showed "the establishment's secret is out: they're not as strong as they appear" and have "no idea how to fix their broken system," Mr Corbyn said.

"The old political consensus is finished," he added.

'Weak and divided'
He insisted Labour now occupied the new centre ground in British politics.
"We are staking out the new centre ground in British politics, backing the things which most people want but are blocked by vested interests.

"We are a government in waiting, while the Conservatives are weak and divided and stuck in an outdated rut with no new ideas," he said.

Mr Corbyn said Labour's mission was to "give people support and security and use their talents, unleash their creativity and fulfil their hopes".

"The hope of a new Britain, run in the interests of the many, not the few, is closer than ever before.

"Together we can, and we will, deliver it."

This article was on the BBC this morning. It reeks of Momentum. It is quite a clever speech, I think. It will appeal to a lot of people, and reaffirm to them that their views are those of moderate, reasonable people - and justify them in the belief that anyone who disagrees with them is automatically 'of the right' and therefore in danger of creeping towards fascism. That being the case, they can excuse all of their usual bad behaviour against their critics, and in extremis justify almost any action to prevent their detractor's nascent right wing beliefs from crystallising into full blown fascism.
