Exit Poll is at 10pm, extremely accurate since 1992 (largest party within 15 seats).

RE: British Politics Thread
Exit poll indicates hung parliament with Conservatives as largest party.

CON 314
LAB 266
SNP 34
LIB 14
Others 22

LAB/LIB/SNP have the same # as the Conservatives. This could be a very long night.

It's going to be a long night, but I think the tories will squeak by on this one and form a majority. By the next election May will have to go and they'll have to start really appeasing the nationalists or else they are toast.

I hope so too.

Not that I like May, but I've bet $10,000 on a Conservative majority Confused Confused Confused

RE: British Politics Thread
A potential upside is if the Conservatives only need a few more seats for a majority, they could have to form a coalition with the DUP, which would push the Tories further to the right if they had a decent amount of bargaining power.

More positive news: While Labour have held the first two seats, Newcastle and Sunderland - always safe Labour seats - the swing to the Tories in both cases have confounded the exit polls.

The Conservatives are doing slightly better in the early results than the exit poll would have indicated.

Tories get first win in Swindon North. Labour hold fourth seat but again with a lesser swing.

The exit polls tend to underestimate the Tories. Didn't call the majority in 2015. Still, think there will be a Tory majority by 10 at least. If there isn't a majority May will be under huge pressure to resign, step up Boris Johnson?

Even if there is a majority, I hope May resigns.

This whole election has been a fiasco, she had the majority she needed for a hard Brexit, but she still gambled unnecessarily.

Yes, I feel like a right idiot now.

There is a nationwide swing to Labour, it seems even the exit polls are too optimistic for May, and yes I know they are mostly the early safe seats, but cabinet ministers have lost their seats.

So... Question time... where did the British Tories go so wrong? I haven't been paying attention because a month ago I thought they had it in the bag.

By picking a pro-Remain leader instead of a pro-Brexit one in the leadership election last year.

The Tories' leadership is so damn cucked, they deserve this. May is a total clown.

Simian - sorry about your loss mate.

One thing about Corbyn, he's a bit of a closet anti-globalist, and a closet climate skeptic. It will be to interesting to see how things are going to go down...

Another interesting fact about Corbyn: never been to Bilderberg.

“Nothing is more useful than to look upon the world as it really is.”
