Court packing is a throwback to a different time. It likely would not be tolerated in America today. Trump has enough problems, this would make stuff 100 times worse. This was one of the downsides of FDR and how they passed an amendment to limit presidential terms to 2, like George Washington recommended, because he went too far. My personal view, if Trump tried that, an amendment would likely get bipartisan support and be very swift. Just because an exploit hole is still present, does not mean it is wise to use it. \
See above.

They could create a Ginsberg Dossier filled with all kinds of bullshit and then investigate it. That's pretty much what they did to Trump.

FDR was an admirer of Hitler at one point... I think in the early 30's. Even modeled a program after the Hitler Youth. FDR was a socialist at heart, and like all socialists he believed that whatever he did was correct and justified, no matter how evil it may seem up front.

This is absolutely retarded. Acting like the left, you might as well give up the semblance of a democratic and civilized society. Might as well arm up and try to subdue the other side China style and install an autocratic authoritarian regime with one party.

In other news the queefing and vitriol over the potential judge picks are all over the place. The lady has flaws and is sooo Catholic she is pissing off atheist and Godless liberals, and one of the guys has a bad judgement record and a soft spot for immigrants.

The big picture is that we get someone (hopefully a man) that is more conservative than Kennedy by a factor of 1000. You guys know me, I am not a fan of the heresy called Catholicism. I do not care if a judge thinks an illegal on soil has the right to due process or sue (a good wall should keep that from happening anyway), what I do care about is the future and tipping the scales in favor of slowing down the degenerate rot.

We should be thinking long game here. Either of the 2-3 judges will be decent enough I suppose.

Now. All that aside. If Clarence Thomas or one of the others retire, Trump needs a stone cold conservative to put into that slot. Failure to do that, and it will fuck up court balance. It is not realistic to put another Scalia in EVERY slot. There are just not that many judges or legal minded people in the country. Also, too many hardasses isn't good either. A decent spread of conservative minded judges should do well.

No, McCain doesn't have 4 years. Either he dies soon and suddenly, or else he gets lucky because he benefits from the latest medical research.

I had a friend, Rob, die from brain cancer a few years ago, with 95% mortality in a year after diagnosis. He was a talented specialty microchip designer for the defense industry. His death came in two days during a two week period of sudden reversal in health. Glial blastomas can grow suddenly and viciously, and unexpectedly compared to other cancers.

He and his wife rejected conventional radiation and chemo therapy after surgery and committed to using alternative science-based therapies to fight it, (ie, Colley vaccine, used for another disease, but re-purpoed to provoke an immune response to fight the disease). His wife blogged the course of his illness with glial blastoma to friends - she is a PhD trained microbiologist and sold her research findings to other victims of this hopeless disease online as a "consultant".

Six months after diagnosis and surgery, I saw him with friends for dinner and you couldn't tell he wasn't healthy but fighting for his life every day. Yet death came over a week or two over a few days. In other words, it came quite with surprise.

My hunch is that with McCain's demi-billionaire wealth (by marriage, the U-haul fortune) and high status, that he's been enrolled in the autogulous immuno-therapy program -- experimental treatment that more precisely builds on Colley vaccine therapy philosophy, but with optimistic recent outcomes - albeit a tiny sample.

This would explain his non-resignation while still prepping for death quislingness.
We don't hear about his "special treatment" because of the public controversy it would cause.

LOL. He certainly doesn't have 4 years! My guess is he has between 1-4 months, give or take. Then they'll be u-hauling his dead ass out of there...

Unconfirmed, but it feels like disinformation strategy to trigger and throw off the Liberals at the last minute.

RE: U.S. Supreme Court, including Gorsuch nomination
I predict Hardiman.

He was the runner-up for Scalia’s seat. Kavanaugh is potentially too closely associated to the Bush-era Republicans and is causing social conservatives some unease because of some of his rulings regarding abortion and Obamacare. Barrett, on the other hand, is the socon favourite, but that means that the three pro-choice Republicans may act to block her, and the margin is narrow enough as is. Hardiman likely represents a compromise choice, given the current balance of the Senate.

It's Kavanaugh. The power of H/Y LS is too strong. Hardiman might be tapped if Alito or Breyer need to be replaced.

Nailed it.

Read his dissent in the Fogo de Chao case and tell me that he's not a MAGA man.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fede...eaa398b79c

Quote:In his dissent, Kavanaugh stood up for American chefs, rejecting Fogo de Chao’s argument that it could only train Brazilian chefs to properly prepare its meat.

“Ultimately, Fogo de Chao’s argument is that American chefs either can’t learn to cook or won’t cook Brazilian steaks,’’ he wrote. “ … Indeed, Fogo de Chao already employs some American chefs in its U.S. steakhouses, which belies Fogo’s contention that Americans cannot do the job. Moreover, reading the record with just a dash of common sense tells us that chefs who happen to be American citizens surely have the capacity to learn how to cook Brazilian steaks and perform the relevant related tasks.’’

As for his supposed weakness on abortion, Trump isn't an abortion hardliner, but he knows that immigration got him into office. Trump judges his candidates on immigration first and Kavanaugh had the best immigration record.

RE: U.S. Supreme Court, including Gorsuch nomination
Barrett would have driven the left too crazy as she's already "prejudged" Roe v. Wade according to them. Probably was unsafe.

Hardiman, though, seemed to mainly be popular due to a hardscrabble upbringing. That's how we got Souter, guys. Cuckboy Souter wasn't even "sort of" a conservative like Kennedy and everyone assumed he was.

I like that Kavanaugh is pro-Second and First Amendment. Is he that bad? Sadly there are no Borks or Scalias left to run, I guess...

RE: U.S. Supreme Court, including Gorsuch nomination
So glad it wasn't a woman. This guy is beyond solid credentials wise. The left is going to fight super ridiculously hard for what really amounts to nothing.

I bet you Amy will be on deck for Ginsberg's seat. Some libs might immolate themselves outside or on capital hill when that happens. I'm not even kidding.

Let's be real now. A new judge is not going to automatically mean that Roe V Wade challenges will even make it to the court even next year. Might take a while, maybe even 5 years from now would not surprise me.

That said, once Kavanaugh gets in, that still makes the vote somewhat tight. If Amy replaces Ginsberg, that is a wrap. Liberals will screech and howl so hard the dead will wake up.

This is basically part 1 of an extremely nasty fight. I do not think they can get Brett in before November and the Senate might shut down until the end of the year. The Dems will have to filibuster even regular Senate Business just to keep motions for Brett from seeing the floor.

If Senators Mitch and Hatch want Brett to go through before the elections, they likely will need to use nuclear option and squash debate for all non judicial floor business.

Those female senators are another issue. If they are weary of Roe v Wade issues or stubborn about it, that means they do not have the votes and November will have to settle it. Unless of course, Mitch can offer them a log rolling offer they cannot refuse or show them polling data from their districts that lend support. Still might not work. Women are still women....

Either way do not be surprised if the Senate is damn near shut down until November.

Correction: Sotomywhore is only 64...won't live another 10 though. She has type 1 diabetes, not type II.

From WebMD:

"Women with type 1 diabetes had an average life expectancy of about 68 years, compared with 81 years for those without the disease, the study found."

Fuck, Trump may get to pick ALL the justices!!

Except that young jewish-looking boy, Kagan...he looks very robust and healthy. He may live a long time, and he'll make someone a fine husband some day.
