The systematics of the place are structured to ensure everything "cooks" the same way in the same amount of time. The most dangerous thing at McDonalds is likely the milkshake or cream machine for coffee. If those don't get cleaned well bacteria goes wild.

McDonalda used to be clean until they started being open 24/7. Now they slack with deep cleans and it attract all the bums to come chill and piss all over the place.

Food safety is more about how the food is sourced and handled than how it's cooked. Most people can tell if their chicken wing or hamburger is cooked or not. It's whether it's been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, who touched and what they touched before that, whether it was dropped on the ground, where the meat came from, etc.

And in McDonald's case, in 2014 they were caught using spoiled, improperly handled meat from a factory in China in their stores throughout Asia. Ten people literally went to jail over this.

Again, I've worked in over 10+ restaurants, from hole-in-the-wall family-owned spots to massive corporations to nationally-acclaimed independent restaurants.

The fact that people are afraid of eating at restaurants that look like this...

...over McDonald's and Starbucks because of "food poisoning" is just laughable. It's nothing more than irrational fear and a gravitation towards things that are familiar.

I ate at McDonald's plenty in the Philippines. But it wasn't because they had some kind of mystical commitment to food safety that, say, Bonchon doesn't (it was because they delivered 24 hours).

And all of those places are cheaper and have way better food/coffee than McDonald's and Starbucks, by the way.

Last time i eat at a McDonalds i was 14 and i get seriuosly ill of the stomach. I prefer to eat in a hole-in-the-wall place than in a McDonalds, any McDonalds.

I wouldn't eat at a McDonald's outside of the US. The ones in Germany are shit tier, and expensive to boot. I don't even know how they stay in business.

I'm still lolling at the thought of people afraid of drinking coffee in non-chain restaurant places because of fear of food poisoning. Like honestly, it's just ground roasted coffee beans and water, what POSSIBLE pollutant are you afraid of in coffee?

Regarding competing with Starbucks, am I missing something here?

Myself and the friends I have made there go because you can buy one coffee and refill with a coffee or tea as many times as you want! The coffee is way better than the swill at McDonalds and other outlets, the atmosphere is good enough, its layout is clean and they usually have two huge tables to do your work at, and most of the time the wifi is good.

What the hell else could a student or anyone want?

- Free refills
- Big Tables
- Decent coffee
- Decent atmosphere
- Wifi

So ... copy it.

I don't get it, why doesn't someone with money just copy their successful model?

I make a point of avoiding eating at either places that are open 24/7 or pubs run out of old colonial era buildings.

The former never get properly cleaned. The latter often have kitchens made of ancient, rotting wood held together with lino and cockroach shit.

Will not click. I refuse to drink 'coffee' at Starbucks and I refuse to click on Facebook.

As far as possible I never eat at chain restaurants or cafes. I always eat and drink at restaurants and cafes, which are small businesses, preferably family-run establishments. The product is better, the service is better, the people are friendlier and I am not supporting the globalist behemoth.

I don't get it, why doesn't someone with money just copy their successful model?

In the US you have several chains that do compete with Starbucks like Caribou, Seattle's Best Coffee, Pete's but mostly they are a sort of carbon copy of Starbucks and offer pretty much the same thing - overpriced coffee with a decent workspace environment & free wifi.

In the UK there are lots too like Cafe Nero, Costa Coffee, etc. at least in London. All are expensive.

I wasn't aware that there were free refills at Starbucks for certain coffee as you seemed to be saying. In general I find Starbucks way too expensive and the coffee isn't all that great either. Paying $6 for a coffee is kinda crazy.

I am boycotting Starbucks anyway for their stupid progressive pandering with things like the "Holiday" cups and now this migrant bs. This was just another nail in the coffin. Better spending my money elsewhere.

Writing may be on the wall for the company.

Whether he stepped down due to backlash over his statements or simply as a plan to focus elsewhere is anyone's guess. He's stepped down before and considering he's retaining the executive chairman position, I'm sure he plans to come back eventually or at least be heavily involved in the company. Forbes source:

Quote:This is not the first time Schultz has stepped away from being chief executive at Starbucks. After taking over in 1987 he steered the company through its 1992 IPO and for years afterward, before giving up the job on April 6, 2000. At the time, he said he was vacating the role in order to focus on the company's global strategy. He took back the reins on January 8, 2008.

Schultz first joined Starbucks as director of operations and marketing in 1982, when the company had just four stores (it now has more than 25,000). After falling in love with Italian coffeehouses during a 1983 trip to Italy, Schultz left Starbucks to start Il Giornale, his own line of coffeehouses. But he couldn't stay away from the Seattle-based coffee chain for long: in 1987, he returned, buying the company and becoming its CEO.

To be fair to your statement, Roosh, this quote seems to support your overall thought (that the company may downturn without him at the main helm):

Quote:Starbucks stock, which closed Thursday's regular trading session with a modest 0.9% gain, dropped more than 3% in after-hours trading on the news. That means a nearly $100 million dip in Schultz's net worth, to $3 billion from $3.1 billion as of Thursday's market close.

Thursday's after-hours dip aside, Schultz has overseen significant growth in Starbucks shares: from its 1992 IPO through April 6, 2000, when his first spin as CEO ended, shares returned 1,298%. From January 8, 2008 -- the day he took back the corner office duties -- through Thursday, the stock's total return was another 551%. During the the in-between period, the shares gained 96%.

We'll have to see how it goes long-term for ShariaCucks.

As for me, I've been enjoying coffee from a variety of other vendors (not that I spent much money there with any regularity).

RE: Starbucks stores defaced for pledging to hire refugees
For years, I have never been a fan of Starbucks because I tend to drink a lot of Dunkin' Donuts coffee. I'm a cheap bastard. Glad to see Starbucks is somewhat struggling with their sales.

From the above mentioned link:
Quote:Donald Trump's presidential election victory seems to have boosted shares of both Dunkin' Brands and Starbucks—but only one has lived up to its investors' expectations.

As first noted by CNNMoney, stock in Dunkin' Brands (dnkn, -1.79%), the parent company of Dunkin' Donuts, has outpaced Starbucks (sbux, +1.72%) shares in the last year. While Starbucks has fallen some 5% over the last 12 months, Dunkin' has gained 25% over the same time period. And Dunkin' shares are up a healthy 10% so far in 2017.

Dunkin shares have risen about 17% since election day, while Starbucks shares are only up 2% after spiking almost 9% in the weeks after the election.

Those results may reflect Starbucks' weak same store sales growth and problems with its mobile app this year.

Dunkin's stock took a slight hit early Friday, however, as CFO Paul Carbone said he'd step down on April 21.

Good. I hope Krispy Creme starts slaughtering them in the South, too - both doughnut chains are (as far as I know) at least tolerant of the God Emperor.

To make sure I'd never set food inside of a Starbucks again, I started brewing my own coffee at home. Of course now it's gone so far (got a French press last week), I don't order coffee anywhere...

This is how it's done, gentlemen:

BOYCOTT SUCCESS: Starbucks BEGS Conservatives to Come Back

by Kelly Beasley | Apr 3, 2017

Quote:Proving that playing politics isn’t good business, the designer coffee giant concedes defeat.

Politically divisive leadership at the helm of Starbucks left conservatives out in the cold for years. And now Starbucks pays a heavy price.

...

The nail in Schultz’ coffin came in January. In response to Trump’s first travel order, the Leftist crybaby announced that Starbucks would preferentially hire refugees worldwide. Those rapists aren’t looking for work; they’re looking for white women to rape and liberal snowflakes to help them force Sharia law on the civilized world.

Delusional Leftist that he is, Schultz claimed the ensuing boycotts by Conservatives would have no effect. Wishful thinking.

As we previously reported, Starbucks lost 24% of its brand value.

Starbucks’ board took the hint. And as we noted last month , boycott-fueled sales’ decreases forced Schultz out. His replacement starts this month.

What’s more, to make amends with conservatives, Starbucks announced a HUGE expansion of their veteran hiring program on Wednesday. To date, they’ve hired more than 10,000 veterans and their spouses. Not only that, but due to the hiring program’s success, they will expand their goal to 25,000.

Proving that Trump’s influence effects ivory tower liberal elites as much as anyone, conservative boycotters of Starbucks can be proud of the work they’ve accomplished.

I am afraid that women appreciate cruelty, downright cruelty, more than anything else. They have wonderfully primitive instincts. We have emancipated them, but they remain slaves looking for their masters all the same. They love being dominated.

RE: Starbucks stores defaced for pledging to hire refugees
They are now hiring veterans like crazy to raise their brand awareness with conservatives!

Fuck you Starbucks - you can swallow your refugee-loving-SJW-feminist-BlackLivesMatter-Hillerites crazies. There are plenty of companies ranging from independent shops to large companies who don't insult 60-70% of the population each step of the way!

Even liberals and Bernie-supporters were not enthused about your decision to hire refugees first.
In Europe you alienate probably 70-80% of the population. Fuck you shitheads!

I am really curious as to how much such a boycott can cost them.

Also you don't have to feel bad for not going to Starbucks as they hire veterans. Starbucks closing does not mean that a jobs will be lost permanently - other shops will gladly take over from the same location and rehire the very same veterans.
