Is there a way to regain skin elasticity over time?

If I lose all the weight, I'll probably have repulsive loose skin hanging all over, which I don't even want to think about. For now I just want to burn the fat.

I think you can cross that bridge when you get there. I say just focus on losing weight steadily on a program you can commit to.

There is always skin removal, I believe other people who have lost a lot of weight have had that surgery.

Anyone remember Alan Faneca?

He lost tons of weight and went from a big massed, filled out look to lanky, slim runner look.

Sure, some skin lag but great results.

Are you going to try an anorectic? I don't know everything about them, but I don't see why you'd battle with your hunger if you don't have to.

It sucks cause it really is like a drug addiction. I can only take it one day at a time. If I think too far ahead it's very discouraging, so I'm telling myself over and over to just stick with it and not fuck up.

It'll get better after a week or two.

That's why I'm against cheat days for inexperienced dieters, as they restart your carb addiction.

Don't worry about the loose skin, Mine tightened over time. Worse comes to worse, you've just spent 3 years of hardship winning you 3 decades of health, energy and life. That or pay for the surgery, but I really doubt you'll need it, you are only 39.

Nothing really to report...weight seemed to hang steady at just under 300 all week. Gotta cut more calories I think.

Don't start cutting calories until you find a way to stop feeling so hungry.

You can't fight the tide all the way there, once you get your hunger under control, then you can start gradually cutting your intake.

The mistake you made was thinking fat is bad. The LCHF diet is perfect for you. Will naturally cut calories and feel satisfied WITHOUT feeling hunger.

Just Google LCHF diet and start eating that way.

RE: Morbidly obese. Desperate for advice on where to start.
I second what Suits is talking about. Get an appetite suppressant. You might as well, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by doing so. Popping pills shouldn't be the blanket solution to everything, but it's a damn fine start and it may be the only start you need. You could probably whittle your way down to 225 in a year or less of popping one or two pills a day and not worrying about shit. 225 for some people is still chubby/big, but it's a damn sight less than 300 lbs.

So after this whole dramatic thread, where you've made all these noises about "thanks so much everyone I'm so motivated now I can do it!", this fabricated significance, you have nothing to report, your weight "seemed to hang steady at ... all week", "gotta cut more calories I think".

So nothing material has changed, correct?

I guess I can ask again "have you looked into anorectics", but I'm guessing that question is being ignored deliberately.

But don't worry. This time it'll be different and this dramatic thread will now cause a sustained change in your behaviour long term...

I might submit that if you want this thread to have any actual long term value, you post your honest and fully accurate logs of your eating and exercise for the week, every week, so that we can yell at you. Unless the pain of being yelled at by your peers is stronger than the pain of not putting bread in your mouth, I can't see what you're hoping to gain from this thread other than AA-style "Hi everyone I'm etwsake and I'm an eater".

I bet 50$ he didn't look into getting checked for Sleep Apnea like I suggested either.

Regardless, this thread has been inspiring to me and the advise very helpful.

I was at 160 pounds and I want to be at 145 or wherever the belly goes completely flat. I started dieting on May 12th and have been sticking to 500-1000 calories per day. As of today, I'm down to 154.

It's boring not eating the food I like, but I've come up with some recipes that include the nutrients and vitamins I need while eliminating carbs and non-essential fats.

I haven't been struggling with being hungry and my productivity has still been good.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice in this thread and in others. I wasn't wasted effort.

You should not be putting yourself in temptation in the first place.

No one can fight temptation for a full year if they are constantly hungry for things they have easy access to.

Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but you need to find a way to stop feeling hungry.

Filling yourself up with low-calorific density vegetables like spinach and lettuce work, I've done it.
Keto/LCHF work, I've done it.
Many people have also benefited from appetite suppressing pills, so they are worth a try.

I'd currently stay away from "fat burners", which I am not going to name, as they are counterproductive and even dangerous unless you've already got good habits.

Hannibal and Phoenix; no, I haven't looked into an appetite suppressant. I haven't done any research on them. I've always been told all my life that any form of diet pills are a scam and don't work. If a pill could make you not want to eat, wouldn't there be no fat people?

Repo, I've done nothing for my mental health.

And SamuelRoberts, no I haven't been checked for sleep apnea. I don't even know how to go about it cause obviously I'd need to be monitored while I sleep, probably for more than one consecutive night.

Yesterday I weighed 298.8 and this morning I weighed 301.8. I didn't leave my room yesterday. I hope the spike in weight was cause I was inactive.

(Just went back a few pages and saw that Samuel posted a list of sleep clinics in Japan. Now I feel like a fucking dunce. I'm going back to page one and re-reading every post before replying again.)

Not sure how it is where you are but in Australia the process would be like this.

You go to a GP (doctor), discuss the issue with them and they will give you a referral to a specialist. The specialist might be a sleep specialist or similar and after an initial consult with them, they would organise a future appointment for you to be monitored. So yeah, you would have to stay overnight at a medical facility in order to have your breathing monitored.
The results would be returned to the specialist, they ask to see you again and would discuss treatment options based on their observations.
It's one thing you could strike off the list of possibilities or things to address.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Other people have gone through this before.

You just need to make an appointment to see a GP.

If you didn't leave your room then inactivity is an issue too.

To address this, get a pedometer to measure how many steps you take each day.
Each day you record how many steps you take in a spreadsheet or a book. Set a target, reach it and then increase it. This ensures you are doing a minimum level of activity per day. You need to hit that number of steps each day.

This is your life on the line. Fight for it!

There's a difference between bullshit fad diet pills and pills that are proven to clinically reduce appetite.

I spent two seconds googling and found this.

https://supplementous.com/effective-5-ap...ills-2015/

There's this drug called Phen375, which does this :

Produced by RDK Global, which is a reputable US firm. It is created in FDA approved laboratories, which means that you can be fully confident that you’re consuming a safe medication produced by a reliable company.
Phen375 enhances your body’s metabolism and fat burning abilities, with results of up to 3-5 pounds of weight loss per week!
Suppresses the appetite in order to maintain your weight loss
Won’t empty your wallets: very affordable!
Promotes an energy increase, which will provide you that extra drive to perform further daily activities and burn additional calories!
Phen375 is one of the top rated appetite suppressants you will find on the market in 2015/16. It helps in weight loss by suppressing your appetite so that you won’t have those food cravings or late night binges. It is not only legal but also safe given that it is made using all-natural ingredients.

It is a drug that promotes thermogenis ie fat burning. Here are the active ingredients.

Citrus Aurantium (Fruit) Extract – Also known as “Bitter Orange,” works as a stimulant that increases your energy level and metabolism, while also acting as an appetite suppressant. Thus, it exponentially facilitates in burning fat and losing weight.

Caffeine Powder Anhydrous (Capsicum Frutescens) – A potent stimulant, caffeine (1, 3, 7-Trimethylxanthine) improves your energy levels and attentiveness; hence, promoting physical activity. It also tricks your mind to make you feel full, forcing your body to burn stored fat to obtain needed energy. Unlike other diet pills that contain huge amounts of caffeine, Phen375 includes just the right quantity of this ingredient so it’s safe to consume.

Cayenne (Capsicum) 10M HU/G– Also known as “Capsicum,” Cayenne is a natural fat burner that comes from red chili peppers. It effectively works by increasing your body temperature, which then leads to supercharging your metabolic rate to burn an additional 270 calories a day! This process is called thermogenesis. Capsaicin is an active component of chili pephen375 ingredients Capsaicinppers, which are plants belonging to the genus Capsicum and is included in a powerful 12:1 concentration.

Capsaicin-1.12 is incorporated at a highly effective 12 to 1 concentration that enables the other active ingredients to be transported all over your body. It does this by increasing blood flow in smaller or restricted blood vessels that are typical in fatty tissue.

Dendrobium nobile is an Orchid extract and is used to improve digestion.

Coleus Forskolii Root PE(10% Forskolin) activates adenylyl cyclase and increases cyclic AMP levels in a many cell types.

These ingredients combine well together to enable the 3-prong approach to effective, fast weight loss.

Are there any side effects with Phen375?
Phen375 is manufactured under FDA approval with the highest standard of pharmaceutical ingredients that rarely cause side effects. As all of the Phen375 ingredients are natural, typically side effects are very rare. The manufacturer states that some users though, have experienced mild dizziness, disrupted sleep patterns and higher blood pressure levels but these are all dependant on your own personal make up, tolerance and other varying factors with a weight loss supplement formulated to speed up metabolism and burn fat. See tips when using weight loss pills and reducing the side effects here.

As you can see, the ingredients are not terribly dangerous, although I would take it in the morning and at least six hours before bed because it contains stimulants (caffeine).

Give it a shot, it's cheap as shit and the side effects are minimal.

What do you have to lose?

“I have a very simple rule when it comes to management: hire the best people from your competitors, pay them more than they were earning, and give them bonuses and incentives based on their performance. That’s how you build a first-class operation.”

RE: Morbidly obese. Desperate for advice on where to start.
Just a quick question on intermittent fasting before we go back to the OP - do you eat a day's amount of calories in the eight-hour window, or do you eat breakfast and lunch's calories, minus dinner, in the eight-hour window? I don't have regular access to a scale, so I don't know if my two big meals are too big.

Doing IF in three-day shifts, usually I then take a day or two off. In the middle of a move, so this isn't the best time, sadly...

Yeah, get that checked out. That's really the first thing you need to start with because if you have it, your weight loss attempts will be far less effective.

I'll try to avoid overwhelming you with advice, since god knows you've got enough of it. But I'd like you, if you wouldn't mind, to talk a little more about your lifestyle. In my original post I brought up the question of why you're fat when everybody else around you is skinny. This isn't a dig on you, mind, it's an honest question. I know why Americans are fat: we eat a diet of shitty processed food (as opposed to the relatively healthy meals you can buy at any conbini), heavy on vegetable oils, and we don't walk or do any exercise at all. But if you're in Japan, you should be getting plenty of daily exercise just by the fact that you've gotta go from point A to point B, and you'd have to put in a lot of effort to find food there that's as bad as the average American's diet.

I know a guy that manages to put on weight when he's in Japan, but he does it by living off a combination of heavy western-style cooking, ordering pizza hut every other day, and never leaving his apartment except to pick up girls to fuck. Dunno anybody else who does it.

What's the deal? Are you just enormously hungry all the time, so even if you're walking it's getting overwhelmed by the massive amount of pastries and chocolate that you're eating? Do you work at home, and so you've got no reason to ever go anywhere?

Until people know what's going on, most of the advice you get here is gonna be generic, and thus a lot less useful.
