Canucks were outscored 23-8 in 2011 Finals, 21-4 from Game 3 to Game 7.

They had a shutout of the Bruins in Game 5 (1-0) but the Canucks just couldn't score;
- Thomas Saves/Shots in Boston Wins: 40/41, 38 SO, 36/38, 37 SO

Burrows bit Bergeron in G1; not suspended, scores 2 G (OT winner), 1A in G2.

Bruins overall healthier, but without Marc Savard due to career ending injury (Canucks' Mason Raymond ended up in the hospital 20 seconds into Game 6)

Hit on Horton: Video title from a Canuck fan: "Clean Hit", that's a "no by" from this Newfie, Horton was partially responsible for watching the pass, but that's late and to the head

Horton put himself in an awkward position, the hit was late by like 0.07 seconds according to NHL rules, so it should have been a 2 minute interference penalty. As far is it being the head or not the rules were different then.

The Canucks couldn't score because their best offensive players were hurt.

Meanwhile this doesn't even get a 2 minute penalty, yes the Sedins can be pussies but Daniel expected he'd at least put the Canucks on the PP for taking a few jabs.

That's the tail end of a scrum, hard to have respect for a man that lets that happen and doesn't stand up for himself, Daniel's just looking for a call.

Here's the whole play:

RE: The NHL Thread
Exciting Bruins Hurricanes Game 1 Semifinals Thursday Night at TD Garden in Boston - with McAvoy suspended 1 game, Clifton stepped up and the Bruins won 5-2 even though the Hate Everything Boston and New England Land of Champions (Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots etc.), Sports Announcers reported Canes were playing together much more aggressively (Fore Checking, shut down 3 of 5 Penalty periods, etc) and yet "somehow" Boston still won with two penalty goals, an Empty Net Goal and Wagner's smart one on one Goal with just over 2 minutes remaining.

With McAvoy back with speed and tough Irish fighting tenacity and skill matched with Chara's huge presence and discipline along with the Pasternak, Bergeron to Marchand relentless forward line as well as the other shifts stepping up will make for a great 2nd Game 3 PM Sunday in Boston.

He might be extremely talented, but in Boston we don't give a fuck, we expect championships, and if you get it done as an ugly blue collar fucker like Tim Thomas we love you even more.

I've always perceived Rask as a goaltender who got way too much money for stopping high quantities of lower quality scoring opportunities. The Bruins skaters have always been great positionally at defence causing low percentage shots from the perimeter.

I will however say Rask has evolved & proved me wrong this season until now.

Tuukka Rask has been hands down the strongest goalie of these playoffs. He's a different goalie than he was 5 or so years ago. He used to be extremely hot and cold, emotional, and immature in net.

Tonight, Carolina brought everything they had in the first period. It should've been at least 3-0 Canes going into the first intermission. Tuukka looked as calm and collected as ever.

He single-handedly won game three. He deflated Carolina and gave Boston a chance to recover from probably one of their worst periods of this playoff run. He's a technical genius at the position and his angles are always perfect.

I was impressed with St. Louis in Game 2 and they might test the Sharks a lot more than I was anticipating. But I still think the Sharks will take it in probably 6 games. I said earlier that Sharks will beat Boston in 7 and I'll still stand by that statement, but if it comes down to the wire I have a lot more faith in Rask over Martin Jones.

I'm so used to seeing Rask get flustered and sloppy under high pressure over the last few seasons, or not coming up with the stops he needs to make in the playoffs. Right now he looks totally locked in, cool as a cucumber.

The Canes want to throw you off your game and make you play in the gutter with them, it's an ugly grinding style of hockey, similar to how the Bruins played when it was the Big Bad Bruins. I'm impressed with this Bruins team, which was built as a more skilled finesse team, they've held their own when it's gotten ugly and otherwise had their way with the Canes.

Damn, St Louis just got robbed by the refs in OT. That was undoubtedly a hand pass that led to the San Jose goal. How the fuck did none of the 4 officials on the ice see that? I've never seen a team get so many breaks from the refs than San Jose has this playoffs. At least it was game 3 and not game 7 lol. Wow.

Weds May 15 Odds:

https://www.oddsshark.com/nhl/stanley-cup-futures

The 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs have been nothing short of unpredictable so far, and only four teams remain in the hunt to hoist Lord Stanley’s trophy in June. When it comes to odds on which team will claim the championship this year, the Boston Bruins are the undisputed favorites according to oddsmakers.

The Bruins are the -135 favorites at Bovada, with the St. Louis Blues (+260), San Jose Sharks (+270) and Carolina Hurricanes (+6000) behind them on the oddsboard. To keep up to date with the odds to win each series, make sure you’re visiting our NHL Series Price page.

BRUINS HAVE THE HURRICANES ON THE BRINK OF ELIMINATION
The Bruins continue to roll over the Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference final and grabbed a 3-0 series lead with a 2-1 victory in Game 3 on Tuesday.

This is the first time in the postseason that any team has been in minus-money, but with the way Boston is playing right now, it makes sense. Tuukka Rask has been sensational between the pipes and the B’s offense looks like a well-oiled machine.

Good for the Bruins but now I'm even more pissed at my Queefs for choking away three (3!) series leads.

They would have beaten CBJ in seven and waxed the Canes in five, and match up well with Man Jose (season series sweep).

Fuck this gay earth.

Congrats to all the Bostonians here for the Bruins but you're not done yet. I wouldn't underestimate San Jose or St Louis. I'd say that St Louis will use last night's debacle to fuel their fire to take down the Sharks and deep down, the Sharks know they got a fake win which will play psychologically on them.

Should be a good final either way with Boston as the favorite and the best player of the playoffs so far in Rask but either SJ or Stl can beat the Bruins.

Can SJ keep their season alive tonight with injuries galore? I think the STL closes it out tonight setting up a Blues-Bruins final which could be epic.
