Mayweather is a proud dude, and it's not like the old days. He'll not take a dive. 50-0 takes him past Rocky Marciano. That's a big deal for anyone in the game. Mayweather isn't throwing away what he's staked his whole career on for a few more dollars. Also pretty sure he's already got a lot more than a hundy mil in the bank.

Actually, he's got a lot less than a hundred million in the bank, unless he likes playing games with the IRS (doubtful).

It's common for wealthy people to have relatively low amounts of liquid assets (as a percentage of their wealth), but it's also common for people who spend their money in foolish ways (like he appears to) to not be anywhere near as wealthy as they claim.

I more or less agree. I didn't mean that Mayweather literally had over 100 mil sitting idle in a bank account - that would be pretty dumb of him. I just don't buy that a guy who is supposed to have made upwards of $400 mil against Pacquiao alone is struggling to pay a tax bill: http://www.news.com.au/sport/boxing/how-...e0326505b9

Mayweather is a shrewd guy. People hate on him (understandably), but he is a smart bloke who has been consistently good at making a lot of money. I'm sure the IRS is after him, and I'm sure that most of what he earns is put through enough shell companies etc that they'll struggle to catch up with him. There's just no way Mayweather has failed to get himself a good lawyer and a good accountant.

Seriously rich guys get to tell the tax man what they are prepared to pay, and give a take it or leave it offer. I suspect Mayweather will do the same thing with the IRS on this one.

That's how the mainstream media is today. From sports to politics; you will see this everywhere, and it's intentional.

This video briefly goes over it.

They just got 1 million more PPVs. Here's Paulie lying about getting "knocked down" during sparring earlier this week. For those of you that don't know Paulie Malinaggi is a retired boxer and former IBF and WBA world champion.

Floyd has some good marketers behind him, but I'm not sure that someone who's taken as many hits to the dome as he has is "financially savvy".

There's a real chance that "his" people are in fact gutting him with various shell games and even outright theft.

Trouble with the IRS whereafter "your" financial guys start talking shit like "issues with financial liquidity" should be a fucking yuge red flag.

I for one wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd wake up one day to find himself alone, broke 5 times over and facing a long stint in jail for unpaid taxes.

I agree with Leonard. Mayweather may well be "shrewd" in an animal cunning sorta way, but the guy can barely read. I give McGregor better odds in this fight than I give the notion that Mayweather is in the weeds with the financial chicanery involved in managing hundreds of millions of dollars and the IRS. I'm not saying he's surely being ripped off by his money managers, but that if he isn't, it's not because of his supposed massive intelligence allowing him to stay on top of things. You wouldn't ask a book smart nerd to build up a drug cartel from scratch, and you wouldn't ask a street smart boxer to get a handle on exotic financial structures and their repercussions vis a vis the IRS.

Boxing is exactly the same as the stuck in the mud, outdated MSM, and the establishment politicians.

First we had, Conor can't even hang with an amateur boxer, then it's an insult to even be in the ring with a boxer, then he has zero chance to even land a punch against Floyd, and yet here he is landing heavy on a world champion boxer [Irrespective of whether he retired earlier this year].

Yes, Conor has an a very slim chance [Like 1% slim] vs Mayweather, but by being so purposefully ignorant and elitist, the boxing establishment miss the fact that their sport has stagnated. There has been no evolution in over 30 years.

That isn't something which can be blamed on that fact that the sport has reached it's apex. Everything evolves, and the moment someone thinks a craft is perfected, they develop a weakness.

It always takes an outside influence to force a sport to evolve, and there's a chance that Conor could do that. MMA is like the Trump of combat sports. It is evolving rapidly and for all the establishment boxing clowns, they're clueless if they pretend Conor has nothing to offer.

Connor barely has amateur boxing skills. Diaz outboxed him in the first fight. This isn't MMA. If it was. I would bet the house on Connor. He is fighting a Boxing Champion. This "fight" is a joke. It's a complete money grab for both.

Rush, not sure where you're getting "Conor is going to change the face of boxing" from "Conor knocked down a retired boxer who admitted to taking a training camp with Conor's team last minute."

This would be like me saying boxing is instantly the best combat sport simply because I am able to find footage of a boxer knocking some Jiujitsu guy to the ground in a sparring match.

That was like a 10-second clip. Anyone can take a 10 second video of some guy going hard on someone else. Just watch any video montage of any fighter. That's what a hype reel is all about. Highlighting their best punches, jukes and dodges in a vacuum. We don't know what happened in the rest of those sparring matches.

All that said, they are selling the fuck out of this fight.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

Just watch the videos of his bag work, sparring, etc, he's awkward and stiff. I would 100% agree with you, but I think as a fighter, he can spot a strike opportunity much better than an amateur. Conor also has power, and the balls to mix it up into the unknown, over the typical boxer.

Yes Conor is not a boxer, but I think he's much more likely to take advantage of an open shot, than your typical boxer, and create an opportunity. I think thats his entire strategy for the fight, and why Floyd should be worried. Conor's a total wildcard, and knows it, and will use that to his advantage.

Releasing the video is great... Same with Skip Bayless' endless rants that are surprisingly entertaining. If anything, I bet Mayweather is happy for this latest round of hype as it's likely to increase ticket sales, firm up the lines and hopefully get him down to -400, -500.

Conor boxes like the ND Logo

Hysterical comments. Worth the read through.

``Conor looks like Von Kizer from Tyson's Punch Out.''

Seriously, slowwwww and stiff. If Floyd had any real power, Conor would be down 15 seconds into this ``fight.''

Make sure to watch Conor's little hop-punch.

And do what, improve conditions for the other fighters? This guy is out for himself.

I'm starting to wonder whether Conor is just as "clever" as Mayweather, in terms of picking his fights. Did he ever really belong in the featherweight division?

Regarding the stiffness. Listening to the Paulie interview, McGregor was able to go 12 rounds with a pro-boxer. He couldn't be that bad. Wouldn't be surprised if he's holding back, or dicking around for show.

Paulie "the talking parrot" Malignaggi got his brains beat out in that sparring video. He's had to backtrack now admitting that McGregor got the best of him.

Granted, he's no Floyd. But if Conor can light up a 2-division boxing champ (who fought more recently than Floyd), I'd say his chances just went up.

Paulie has a chin too, he was known for that. Floyd has an untested chin and brittle hands. If he tries "to take the fight" to McGregor I don't think it will end well for him.

Also noticed how McGregor ragdolled Paulie in the clinch. He'll be doing a lot of that against Mayweather no doubt...
