Just had a random memory of an incredible street mime from my childhood who haunted Union Square in San Francisco.

Did a search.

Thanks for the memories, Youtube, you brought a piece of my childhood back to me.

Finally got After Effects to display a 3D model. I updated my video card drivers, and up the model came, much faster than I'd expected. Now starting work on incorporating it into scenes. At times this has felt like frustration, but it's mostly felt like play.

I am close to finally getting a job. My salary is already set. Just need to wait for the drug test results to be sent to my manager. I don't smoke, inject, or take prescription drugs. No alcohol in months so I know it will be clean.

Finally got my learners permit too. Been procrastinating on that for a long time despite finishing driving school last year.

I sang Sublime - Santeria at karaoke tonight. The DJ said I did a good job, but damn if I can't tell when I suck or not when I'm up on that stage. I also found a video explaining to enter head voice more easily, so I'm going to start experimenting with that. If I can figure this out, I'll be able to add more songs to sing which is fucking awesome and exciting to do.

I had a conversation with my father last night about my future. I don't know why or how but this conversation was different then all the other "future talks" I've had previously. It lit a fire under my ass and I stayed up late writing out a comprehensive goal list. its deadline being my twenty first birthday(March of 2020). Its multifaceted, including health, wealth, travel, and gaming.

Now it is time to grind harder than ever before. Wish me luck boys!

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
Been having a very rough time at work these past few weeks. The workload has been very intense to the point where my body and mind are completely burnt out.

I started to develop a negative attitude and found myself complaining on a constant basis at work, as well as at home.

Earlier this week, I purchased two books: Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude, and The No Complaining Rule.

I'm halfway done with The No Complaining Rule. I have already begun implementing different ways to turn my attitude around increase my positivity, which should increase my overall happiness.

As of right now, it's working. So happy I bought both of these.

Played two 30 minute sets with my current band to almost a thousand people last night.
(mini-festival sort of thing, 3 big name acts on the indoor stage, we were on the smaller outdoor stage keeping the crowd warmed up while other bands were loading in/out)
Great night, everybody was dancing and singing along, especially the women.
The feedback we got from the organizer was glowing, in the vein of "we've never had this many people checking out the outdoor band".
We've already been booked to play the same place next year, two nights instead of just one.

It's gigs like that which keep reminding me why it's so goddamn great to play in front of an audience.
And what a sight for sore eyes to see gorgeous women with big titties dancing in front of you, instead of the standard drunken slobs telling you to fuck off.

Had nothing to do yesterday after work and it felt great. Played video games, ate good, took a nap, woke up, video games until some pussy came over. Back to sleep again.

Today just made and ate some ribs. Love it.

I'm in a great mood for no particular reason right now. Made a great breakfast for me myself and I, listening to some good tunes, gearing up to get a few things done around the house then maybe play some solo disc golf. I'm healthy, family is good, got a girl that loves me, and things are great.

Watched The Minimalist documentary on a recommendation last night. Already cut a lot of crap out of my life in terms of possessions and people in that last of couple of years but the documentary was thought provoking and inspiring. I could easily fit everything in a car now but the documentary gave me some new ideas for the future.

Shot a gun today for the first time. Thank God for the second amendment. America is amazing.

David took his men with him and went out and killed two hundred Philistines and brought back their foreskins. They counted out the full number to the king so that David might become the king's son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal in marriage. 1 Samuel 18:27

I broke my own rope jump record today. Only an additional 11 minutes to my usual 2 hr session.
During this additional time I didn't feel much out of some minor foot fatigue wich is normal at that stage. But 1 minute after I stopped it felt as if my chest had suddenly folded and my legs were brutalized. I was well again after that!
I only did this as a one timer to meet a challenge I had made myself a while ago when I first hit the 2 hr mark.
Now that I Know I can I'll be staying on the safe side.

I'm just happy at how I've progressed from the days I stopped bumming. Slowly at first and with many flaws, but now faster and better!

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

First time I was about to shoot a gun (rifle) my legs were trembling and I was sweating like an animal (it didn't help that it was 35 Celsius outside either). I went through it anyways and then I wanted to do it again. It's very exciting to shoot a loud rifle in the army with other guys doing the same thing. I could hear the zinc metal on some small settlements vibrate a bit every time people took a shot and my chest was trembling a bit from the sound as well.

I knew that a lot of guys felt the same when they did this for the first time and it was such a great bonding experience. If you haven't done so already, try shooting with some friends. It's just much more exciting this way.

It sucks that so many people in our culture have this wild almost mythological stigma about guns. My father had a .22 that he had me shoot when I was about 10 years old and the fact that I was introduced to guns at an early age and how to properly handle them had a very positive impact on my perception of them as I grew up. They are a tool like any other manmade thing. They are not some evil creation made for the sole purpose of killing people. Hell millions of people drive cars every day here in America. Do you have any idea how much easier it is to maim and kill people with a car? Recent news should give you an idea of that.

On to good news: Started a new strength training cycle yesterday and felt great to be back in the gym and work towards new short term goals.

Getting my hunting license this Saturday and shooting some clays with my future hunting partner the day before.

Going Camping in a couple weeks and a friend is going to teach me to fly fish.

Booked a trip to Vegas for my girl and I in November to see a good friend of mine compete in Strongman Nationals.

Guns are awesome and it's makes a huge difference in how old you are when you are first taught to use them. I first shot a 22 when I was 5. And I was fine. Actually I was a good enough shot that my uncle and dad took me rabbit hunting. Those little fuckers are quick and delicious.

But then again maybe I'm a country fuck. Oh well. I'm happy I just remembered that story.

RE: Positivity / Good News Only Lounge
(Word of warning: I went off the rails a long, long time ago.)

Life threw me a surprise fastball last week and it hit me harder than I expected. Well, to be precise, I was caught looking and didn't even bother to swing.

I've spent the last few days feeling down and kicking myself, mainly because it's apparent to me that I've still gotta keep pushing hard if I'm gonna dig myself out of this giant hole I have my life in.

I got complacent for a second after I made some good progress, and it hurt me. I've had that stinging feeling behind my eyes for the past few days now, realizing that it's on me to take things to a new level if I'm ever gonna become the man I want to be.

And then earlier today, for maybe the third or fourth time in my life, a small sign from God appeared in the form of a completely bizarre coincidence that is so mathematically improbable that a higher power must've been responsible for making it happen.

A small troll from God, if you will, as if He was telling me: "Don't give up, kid, I've still got a sense of humor about all of this." I've been grinning to myself all day.

I'm not writing this for all of you happy, successful, self-actualized guys on here (who are probably rolling their eyes Wink), but for the losers who want to make a change, for the guys lurking and in the shadows who feel trapped. Don't give up -- I would know -- I gave up on myself for over a decade, and have nothing to show for it except for despair and failure of the worst kind -- the kind of failure that results with you walking around with your shoulders slumped and your head held down because you don't have enough guts to look anybody in the eye.

Slowly -- but ever so surely -- I'm learning to walk like a man, with my head held high and my back straight. I'm not embarrassed about how bad things used to be anymore, how I sunk so low. It happened to me, and stayed down there longer than I should have, but I'm moving forward now. If anybody asks, "Hey, I'm focused on the future now. There's so much I want to do with my life."

Keep going, fellas . . .

"Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn't leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends, his family and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance."

Agreed.

PappayaTapper, this thread has been inspired, and one of the the best recent additions to the forum.

Let's get in the mood.

I mean it, great thread. Despite the song.
