1. Basketball- I see this as being the #1 American sport by 2050. It's literally the last one left that has survived the exclusiveness of organized leagues and has minimal long-term health risk with a lot of fast-paced action. It is a perfect modern sport because it is still played in every neighborhood, is relative, has clear stars people can look up to, and people don't end up mentally screwed up once their careers end. Not to mention it's already a major sport so doesn't need much growing.

The limiting factor of basketball in my eyes is that basketball at a high level is geared exclusively to physical traits that 99% of the population doesn't even have. It's virtually impossible to make a even low level college teams like division 3 unless you are tall enough.

I definitely see soccer growing as it is the ultimate world wide sport and the latino population in the US is expected to double by 2050. Soccer is also represents average sizes of humans compare to most sports.

Good thing Muggsy Bogues didn't have that limiting belief.

Statistically speaking your odds of making it to the NBA being under 6ft tall are 1 in 1.2 million.

If your white you probably have a better shot of winning Powerball twice than getting Muggsy Bogues genetics.

Completely wrong. There used to be plenty of white guys in the league who weren't tall, Steve Kerr, Danny Ainge, John Stockton, Mark Price and they played in a time where some of the greatest, most steroid using players played like MJ, Barkley, Ewing, Karl Malone etc. Even Steve Nash completely dominated the league until recently.

If they're not in the league anymore you should look in another (((direction))).

Muggsy Bogues is 5'3". How tall are the guys that you are talking about?

It's one of the only sports average white kids can just pick up and play in the neighborhood, the street, or a gym. They don't need to have the same exact physical skills or be able to dunk easily, they just need to know how to play the game and have easy access to, which no sport tops in that regard.

I get that i'm just pointing out the obvious truth that it's a sport you basically have no shot in competing at the higher level if you are both short and non-black. The odds of making it to a NBA team being both under 6ft tall and not black must be astronomical. Even making a Division 2 or 3 college team would be amazing.

There are plenty of white college basketball players who get mad pussy and live like rock stars for 4 years even if they know they'll never make the nba. That's plenty incentive for white kids to keep playing it. College athletes are celebrities on campus, even the bench players have status. I lived on a dorm floor with some football players, the goddamn backups had girls chasing them it was unreal. Just having the jersey and running out of the tunnel was enough to get pussy chasing them.

Even varsity sports in high school give you enough "status" to get a kid laid. Or at least it did in my day

RE: The NFL is dying
I just want to share with you guys two things I noticed in the last two hours on two different sports shows on two different channel's.

1. On MLB Network's The Rundown, they spent 10 MINUTES on a segment about people's favorite baseball player to follow on Instagram. It might as well have been the Instagram Network in that moment instead of the MLB Network. It had absolutely nothing to do with baseball besides the fact it involved baseball player's profiles.

2. On ESPN's Around the Horn, journalist Mina Kimes was on discussing Ezekiel Elliott's lack of hustle on Sunday and literally called it "bad optics" and talking about how he could get hurt. I was in shock for the next 5-10 minutes that this word was actually said on air on a sports show but shouldn't really because it's ESPN. Only saving grace was Tony Reali (alpha male host) told her to "settle down" after saying that and deducted a point from her.

I changed the channel immediately after watching a little bit of both scenes. This seems to be the current state of 24/7 sports channels. I don't want them gone, but it's clear we've seen the peak of this concept, people are running out of things to talk about if scenes like this are making air, and it's clear that technology, social media, and politics are being pushed too much into sports.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

Just a real-time update, everywhere I look online and I've been hearing on the radio The last week or so since this thread was started it's" the NFL really sucks this season, ""the NFL and it's disappointing games", "the NFL and it's lower ratings", etc. etc. just funny to see how on point my uncle roosh is. I already made my points in my previous post in this thread. Now I know that the NFL has a lot of smart and well paid people that saw this coming a mile away and have already started to plan for a shift in resources/revenue from online streaming services as opposed to the TV contract model. However that being said these sorts of things sometimes become A self -filling prophecy. I really do hope this is one of those times I would be cool with basketball being the new top dog sport maybe it could become a longer season that started in the fall or late summer who knows what the future of sports will be.

The lengths that you and other posters have been reaching to blame everything on (((them))) is truly astounding. Props to Kid Twist for actually taking the time to break down a possibility as to why White American NBA players are declining instead of going to RVF's version of "patriarchy". I expect this shit in the Politics and War sub but I guess EE is infected too.

By the way, the converse of my point is true with baseball. In fact, it proves my point. Ever wonder why there are no blacks in baseball now, relatively speaking? Culture is the reason, primarily. Dig deeper.

Even the Canadian national team is getting a lot better, it is going from horrible to bad.

Way too short a time frame. The US national team won't be one of the best for at least another 20 years or so, are the kids starting at ages 3/4 now really getting the same quality of coaching and amount of play time as the same kids in the leading football nations? The MLS is a joke league, and will stay like that for the foreseeable future. Why do all the best US players play in Europe? The MLS will be like the Serie A in Brazil- a shit league in a country with a good national team.

Basketball is the most boring sport I have ever seen. It seem like they score every single time that they attack! High scoring sports can't generate the same excitement as low scoring ones such as football, american football and rugby. There is no explosion of excitement when points are scored.

Which sports do the emerging powers of the 21st century play? Well China wants to rule the world in football, so does India but they love their cricket, and Nigeria is a football nation. Yank sports were always too insular and as a consequence they will decline as the US declines. Which other countries even play baseball at any decent level? Just Japan and Cuba right?

I use to laugh at Team America, but they have made a lot of progress in the last decade.

In the last world cup, I thought they played well against Germany and should have won.

They will get to the knockout stage in the next World Cup or soon, winning I don't see for a long time.

College sports are probably the best bang for your buck in the US. For example, it's $6 to watch my local Division 1 university soccer team play in the best seats, while equivalent seats for my local MLS team are about $30. There is an even bigger discrepancy in price between college basketball and football and pro.

The USMNT has plateaued at the same level for the last 20 years, it's not just that the MLS is weak (in fact it's been getting slightly better), it's the whole soccer culture that is whack, with little Timmy in a team spending hours schlepping in minivans instead of being out every afternoon at the local ground dribbling older players. Contrast with basketball, which has a strong pickup/playground culture, similar to the soccer culture you'd find in countries with advanced levels like Brazil or France.

Exactly. The average white guy in the USA is about 5-10 or so. I couldn't understand using the few white guys referenced to prove a point. Especially concerning a league that has been predominately black since the late 1960s. Mugsy Bogues defied incredible odds to just make a team in the NBA, let alone be the skilled player he was.

RE: The NFL is dying
The virtue signaling is filtering down to kids now. These are 8 year olds - clearly being coached into doing this - but everyone claims it was a spontaneous protest from concerned kids.

EVERYTHING has to be a political statement. There's nowhere for even children to escape.

Quote:An Illinois youth football team consisting of children eight years of age or younger kneeled during the national anthem on Sunday to protest the decision to acquit a St. Louis police officer who killed a black man.

Some of the kids on the Junior Comanches football team in Belleville, Illinois asked their coach, Orlando Gooden, who played football at Mizzou, why there were riots occurring in St. Louis.

"One of the kids asked me if I saw (people) protesting and rioting in St. Louis. I said 'yes'; I said, ‘Do you know why they are doing it?'” Gooden told FOX 2 St. Louis.

Gooden said the boy replied, "Because black people are getting killed and nobody's going to jail.”

"I felt like it was a good teaching moment for me to circle the team and have a meeting," said the coach.

Whites are the tallest race in the world and in the US.

Where black Americans have an advantage is they seem to retain mobility well above 6'6''. Up until 6'6'' you have lots of whites too, but it's the 6'7'' to 6'9'' extremely athletic wings where blacks have a clear advantage. You also see this in olympic play. Euros easily match guards and centers, but they can't match the athletic wings like Lebron, Melo, PG, etc.

NFL players see the money nba ballers get and look at the delta and will decide on football only if they can't make it in basketball.

This offseason it was humorous to see nfl players going apoplectic when nba free agents were signing deals.

On the contrary college hoops has really fallen off in quality. The ratings for college regular season have absolutely cratered partially as a result. One and done has exacerbated this.

The NBA is light years better but due to such a long and grueling season, players take more 'nights off' if you will.

It isn't that college games have better defense - it only looks like that because college ballers are so awful offensively.

USMNT is facing growing pains currently because there's a gap right now between the old guard and the u20's. Josh Sargent just signed for bremen today. Pulisic is a bona fide 60+ million pound rated teenager.

There is good talent in the 15-20 range in the US right now in soccer.

Euroleauge is the most entertaining basketball these days. More physical, better fundamentals, less timeouts.

The leagues have switched places. NBA has become the 3 point chucking fest of the 1990s Euroleague and Euroleague has become the grit and grind of the 90s.

I don't want them gone, but it's clear we've seen the peak of this concept, people are running out of things to talk about if scenes like this are making air, and it's clear that technology, social media, and politics are being pushed too much into sports.

There can't be 24 hours of baseball. What do you discuss when baseball isnt going on? It is overkill....

Basketball is more popular in China than soccer, and there are more professional basketball leagues worldwide than any sport outside of soccer.

You're just making things up because you're butthurt about the US, as usual.
