Mostly ED for anything good these days.
I can't remember the last time I made more than 5% off a bittrex trade.

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
Sold all my REQ at a loss to buy up MOD on ED when it was at 70-80 cents and it's now at 2.00-2.30. Was actually gonna post it up here but thought manz would think I was dumping bags on the forum, I got Bassist, CleanSlate and Transsimian on board at least quite early so we managed to recoup REQ losses. It might still be worth a pickup, low MC and still on ED and could jump up abit on an exchange, since we are in a bear market it is possible these low ball picks are the best ones to find gains in. The volume on ED alone for this is pretty insane but as I just said, the ship has probably already sailed, I'll keep an eye on ED for any of these low MC picks and maybe actually post something next time, these are very risky but I can't find anything else giving significant gains outside of BTC right now.

It went up to .04 that day and I sold all of it for a small profit. Since then the price dumped.

@NewMeta

Good stuff bro. I wasn't paying attention to Modum at all but its taken off. I wish I would've done that. I still got a bunch of Request bags lol

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
my chim in right now is a bad idea, i mostly put my MOD earnings into Link which is dying as I speak. Regardless I bought another stack at 18 cents thinking I might gamble on Devcon giving it a boost but it is falling further, shouldve put in a lower buy order.

These forks will probably keep going to keep the money in BTC so alts aren't as lucrative as they used to be.

Some rumors about GNT being the next PBC feature which caused a small spike of recent, but nothing confirmed it's just a rumor and a gamble.

Other than that right now I've uninstalled Blockfolio to try keep my hands steady and just gonna wait this whole thing out even if it doesn't properly recover until the new year.

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
If you want to trade alts now before the fork then short them.

I wouldn't bother though. Wait for 2 weeks more of dumping and pick up whatever appears half dead on the cheap - Chainlink at 8 cents, OMG at 4 dollars, Ripple (assuming it's worth something) at fuck knows. GNT has gone up 20% today but I wouldn't touch them with some else's, no disrespect to Skillrex.

The one ICO which seems half decent is Raiden Network (depending on the price based on their dutch auction), but wouldn't touch any ICO at the moment with a barge pole. Either buy Bitcoin or hold off.

Disclosure: I'm gay.

Golem has been on the last 3-4 PBC reports. It gets pumped everytime that report comes out. I hold a bunch of Golem but I won't be saying anything else about them until I see Golem Brass which has continued to be delayed.

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
I think the safest alt to get into at ATL are:

Omg
MTL
IOT

Less safe but strong contenders:

KNC
LINK
WTC
ODN (maybe)

I'd probably refraim from going in 2 weeks prior to fork day. I can see a lot more sell offs for BTC.

The big question is whether BTC is going to dump at all after Nov 16 with the upcoming bitcoin Silver fork in December. From what I hear, s2x fork is the big anticipated fork and nobody cares much about the gold and silver forks.

Burner I respect you but I don't understand this at all.

OMG's ATL is 40 cents (Eyeballing off CMC). It would have to drop over 90% to get there.

MTL is being mega-dumped due to A.) a general loss of faith in the project B.) serious problems with the whales holding it. It's not even remotely a safe buy right now until it snaps out of its downtrend.

IOT is shit, will always be shit, and has been at ATL and continued to drop.

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
I'm completely alt-free now (except for Wanchain which I cannot sell). I'm not touching an alt until after the fork. I'm about at break even with my investments.

I made some extremely stupid, but necessary, mistakes. I enjoyed the learning experience but, like I mentioned before, Sam made a cynic out of me. I got to a point where I was constantly chasing a new shiny object. I'm very lucky I didn't lose any initial investment but probably lost about 12-15K USD in gains from margin trading and chasing shitcoin after shitcoin.

All hail the cynic!

Honestly, I made some good money thanks to this forum, your advice in the OMG thread was part of what opened my eyes and made me switch my alt-bags to BTC over the last 2 weeks for the most part.

Might move back a bit just before/after the fork date (provided they fall deep enough). Mainly as a hedge against a BTC drop. Still mulling on this...
But yeah, if you want to go long BTC is probably the safest bet. Alts should mostly be kept for short/mid term trades.

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
I moved some of my alt holdings back into BTC this past weekend, but kept some of my alts just in case. So my portfolio has been pretty even... the run-up in BTC price being offset by the falling alts.

I've never seen alts get slaughtered like this before. I hope they recover from this, but if they don't... I may just have to cut my losses and go long on BTC only.

That said, BTC will eventually come back down. The question is, will alts recover? Which ones?

RE: The Altcoin (day) trading thread
With MTL, one or more of the angel investors pulled out all of his money because he knew if he didn't he would lose out over the next few weeks before the fork. I can't really blame him, everyone is doing the same. The people that didn't pull out are the ones risking losing the most.

With regards to MTL , omg, IOT I meant buying in at a low price would be profitable in the short term. Obviously it's hard to say exactly when to jump in but maybe a few days before the fork. MTL and OMG to me seem like resilient established alts.

I like to spout out my opinions but honestly I have no idea what the post fork crypto world will look like. The concensus seems to be:

1) BTC will retrace downward after fork (down to 5k?)
2) alts will recover but only the worthy. Much will not.

1- is not very likely
2- even less likely

This is similar to the Dotcom bubble (as so many people have already said), except we are moving through the steps exponentially faster now. The bubble has already burst for the majority of alts, and all that's left are bag holders.

The PBC coin of the month is RIPPLE?

So it's Jed McCaleb and his FUCK token versus PBC FOMO?

I hope McCaleb takes a giant shit on all of PBC's idiot sheep followers.

He's selling his services so has a free webinar. His top pick is Ripple and he wants people to subscribe to get his other pick which is Zencash. So I'm swinging Ripple.
