Mole/Skin Tag/ Blemish removal pen
Anyone got any experience with one of these?

They are an electrical pen device that puts out a plasma arc to burn off and destroy skin blemishes like moles, sunspots, freckles, skin tags etc.

I grew up being burned black by the harsh Aussie sun, and live in tropical climes now, so one thing aging me hard is shit skin and a lot of sun damage.

I was thinking this could be a cheap and easy way of clearing up a few spots, certainly worth $30 to give it a go. Seems to have loads of positive feedback and reviews.

Despite the positive reviews you mentioned, it might be best to consult with a good dermatologist before you do anything with your skin.

Skin tag removal?

Use a pair of nail clippers, like a man.

Compound W has a product that is similar to the freeze off method, its on Amazon for under $10.

Tags have blood circulation so nail clippers risks infection, scarring, etc. Freezing first kills the tissue and then its safe to use clippers if necessary.

I haven't done this but have read reviews. Think I would try that first. Dermatologist charge a ton for this in the U.S. because its considered cosmetic and not covered by insurance.

There are a few different ones, but they all work the same I think.

Mate as much as I respect the kind of caution that has you checking in with a medical professional before so much as farting...

I sit somewhere between that and "clipping them off with nail clippers" on the risk matrix.

Actually I want to experiment with on sun damage on very small spots, so I don't think I will die, initially anyway.

Real men use tweezers and pull them out by the roots!

But I want to use it for small pigmentation from sun damage.

I had some frozen off by the doc with liquid nitrogen, and they heal back nice. Takes a few years off when they do your face.

I may be late to this discussion but how did your experiment go with the pen? Also, have you considered using Dry Ice at home? I removed one mole on my leg this way though i'd be cautious to do it on the face.

I've used the little freeze can from Walgreens for skin tags. Was really surprised how well it worked.

RE: Mole/Skin Tag/ Blemish removal pen
I had quite a large skin tag under my arm. I'm too much of a pussy to cut it off and going to a doctor seemed a little self indulgent. I got my girl to tie it tightly at the base with dental floss to cut off blood circulation. Within four days it turned black and dropped off.

I remember my grandfather told me that they used to do the same thing with horse hair, but unfortunately I didn't have access to an available horse, or even a zebra. So the next best option was dental floss.

What about mole removal have any of you guys tried any unorthodox methods successfully besides going to a dermatologist? I tried dry ice method on my leg as it was not in a visible place. Would hate to do such a thing on the face and have to deal with scabbing/swelling but maybe i'm just a pussy and need to man up...

Been experimenting with the pen as well as the "Wart off" frozen shit in a can method.

I think the freeze method is more effective for larger areas. It can leave a scar, so I would not recommend on the face region.

The pen works good on little freckles and sun spots.

A soldering iron works quite well. Get a decent one and crank it to 300+ degrees celsius. Work with quick dabs to the target area and cauterize that shit right off.

Apply 5+ times a day with q-tip until it dries up and falls off.

Or soak a cotton ball, apply to skin, cover with bandaid/tape, leave on all night. Repeat daily until it dries up and falls off.

Should take about a week.

Not directly related but to add to the lore:

Recently I went to the vet to check on a downright lovecraftesque mole on my doggie' jaw (complete with two tiny tentacles kid you not!).
Doc said it didn't look like it had roots (in which case and incision must be made) so it'd be safe to do like with people and tie thread around it to suppress irrigation and eventually make it fall off.
Or if he ever needed anesthesia she'd lop it off with a scalpel.

Problem is the fucker moves too much for it to work but I was able to accidentally cut one tentacle off while trying to tighten the knot.

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...
