It's about research.

A good way is to search through all the sororities in your area and see their hashtags.

How difficult is it to convert an Instagram account with a ton of followers to a business account? You can put links into a business account, but I'd worry they's be suspicious of any account with 7K followers.

I have 800+ real friends on mine, never once had a question about it. Even if they do, not a big deal. I'm not going to go thru the trouble of posting different pictures, stories etc...

Some people like to have two separate accounts. One friends and family account and one for risque, adventures etc... Depends if you have a business / professional job that could jeopardize it so keeping it separate will be a good idea.

I don't think so, it's a real pain to keep up both IME, I actually have deactivated my secondary account until I can figure out what I want to do with it and what my aims are, it did okay with 300 odd followers in a couple of months but it's a drag when primary still has a boatload more due to friends, family etc.

Unless I were posting nudes or something, I don't think a secondary is needed unless you want a change of pace, some of the IG girls I know just have the one and post all sorts on it (usually their bodies) without issue from work, friends and family, so why not just keep a single account as a guy?

RE: A Balanced Guide to Instagram Game
There's a free instagram bot called InstaPy. It has the basic functionalities of liking/commenting/following by hashtag, and following a user's followers/following.
I've been using it on and off with a new account and I'm getting decent followers (meaning related to the hashtags I put in, not Asian kids or gay men), albeit slowly. I'm also using pretty conservative following settings.
I can't compare it to followliker or any of the other paid tools since I haven't tried them yet.

RE: A Balanced Guide to Instagram Game
I gave in and started trying with Instagram. Already got one girl I hung out with once and chose not to bang because she wanted a relationship to resurface because of the photos I posted and interested in a fwb relationship.

I started using Combin ($10 per month) and following the people who followed celebrities who look like me. (Combin automates this) I got about 1,000 followers in maybe two weeks. I'd like to build that up to a dhv number (what number is ideal? 5k? 10k? 20k?)

Now that I've got a decent base, I've been thinking about how to get more targeted leads to build a passive pussy stream that is higher quality than Tinder and the slowly dying Seeking Arrangement.

My best idea is to find things that only hot, local women will follow and then follow all of the people following that thing. The local plastic surgeon was my first one.

Any other ideas? What other users and hashtasgs would be followed by hot local women?

RE: A Balanced Guide to Instagram Game
A good guide on the basics, thanks.

However I am still struggling with the question of what actually constitutes a cool profile and if an average guy can have one*. You have only one example posted (on your blog) - by a male model.
It was the same in the older IG threads, just 3-4 examples in all of the threads and all of them were from guys who were models, MTV hosts etc.

Would be great, if the OP or other poster can actually link profiles, which you guys think are high value (show, don't tell). After all, that's one of the nice things about Instragram - the inspiration you can find on there.

Thanks!

* Please no: "Dude, don't be average, bro" replies. That goes without saying. But there is a large gap between being average and being a male model.

All I did was look at "Los Angeles, California" under places and pick out 3 photos I saw of guys:
https://www.instagram.com/erasmo.mbt/
https://www.instagram.com/bijan_alexander/
https://www.instagram.com/brendong1/

It's funny, most naturals have way better Instagram game than pretty much all community guys.

First account yes -- can use this as reference.
2nd account - no
3rd account - needs work but shows potential.

I recall, the IG gurus that have posts on this (do a search) did have examples of profiles but it is buried within hundreds of posts so you will have to dig it out.

RE: A Balanced Guide to Instagram Game
The profiles corsega found are good examples.

The first one is a best case scenario -- it is very difficult (if not impossible) to get over 1 million followers just through automation... you eventually need to structure your profile to where you get many followers naturally. I'm nowhere near that point so I can't really comment on how one should pursue that, and whether it is worth the effort.

The other two are realistic examples of what you can have after ~4-6 months of running targeted automation and posting photos regularly. In terms of photo quality, I think those accounts are right on the mark... photos should be good quality and should also have a central theme of some sort that ties your profile together to a new viewer. Portrait Mode is getting played out a bit, but it is still probably the best type of photo to post; not coincidentally both profiles are filled with those photos.

Thanks for the response, appreciated!

The first one is another male model though.

The two other dudes are more "normal" guys, which is why their profiles immediately tingle my scepticisim/ fakeness detection senses.
Is it really considered cool to basically have 90% of your profile consist of mugshots and pics of you with your friends and familiy? Isn't that what Facebook is for?
And are there really 3.000 people and more who are interested in seeing the face and friends and familiy of a completely stranger again & again (i.e. are this real, albeit automated, followers or fake & bought followers)?

I'm not asking this rhetorically btw. Social media is still a big mystery to me.
I always thought of pics as IG worthy if there is a photography or a special niche/ hobby aspect to them.
And now, with the very few example profiles posted here, it seems a cool profile is just tons of mugshots, pics of friends & family (granted with cool activities and places hinted at in the background).

Or am I putting too much thought into this and girls would never question, why the two normal dudes linked above have 3.000 and more followers?

I'll give this a go-
1st one good but obviously a good looking guy so that makes it easy.
2nd- some photos are alright but I think it's a bit self centered. That said, it does portray a fun lifestyle
3rd- looks good to me. prob could leave out a few of the big group shots.

I'll give some examples:

Reason I didnt think the other profiles were good also, you have to consider the following / followers ratio.

RE: A Balanced Guide to Instagram Game
This seems to be the only active thread on insta game, so i'm going to go ahead and ask for guidance here.

So I'm moving to a new country soon and I want to make a fresh start online for my new gaming personality. As in, new instagram account, new tinder account, setting up a proper vkontaktye, new photos to replace the okayish pictures I've been using, no more Facebook. All of this without the new accounts coming in contact with friends or acquaintances, i hope.

The motivation? Well my real-life game has vastly improved the past couple of years and my online persona is still stuck in my old beta self. I don't give a shit that my 1000s of old acquaintances on Facebook still view me that way, I never post anything online anyways, so I can just let the old accounts die out.
But I'm pretty sure that with a fresh start I could do a lot better. Thinking to use insta as a DHV and day game tool.

So. This is what I have:
- 8 weeks before I move. Hopefully my new online persona would be up and running by them, at a level that is acceptable to start using. (is it unrealistic to hope for something like 1-2k followers by then?)
- about 10k pictures of earlier travelling made with a fairly good DSLR camera. If even only 2% of these are good enough to post, that means 200 pictures, which should sort me out for some time
- 150 good pictures of me from a recent photoshoot. A lot of these are 'duplicates' (as in same series), but there are about 20 different series. I'm wearing the same clothes in all of them unfortunately.
- 0 good pictures of me from the past. Well I'm exaggerating, I could probably find 5-10 pictures which are okay, but ideally I'd rather only use new pictures.

What I don't have and need to be thinking about. Here is where you come in, great IG gurus on the forum, just give me some input if you can Smile

1- name. I need at least a fake last name to create a new FB account (to link to IG), and use on IG as my full name. I'm also a bit unsure about my first name, it's not a common name and I wouldn't want people to find me, but on the other hand I'd feel awkward using a different first name.
My current thinking is to find a fictive last name from my home country, from a novel or something of the sort. This keeps my nationality obvious and if someone asks why I don't use my real name I have a good explanation. But maybe it's not such a big deal?

2- username for IG. Does this play any role?

3- Choosing a couple of niches. Here I'm not sure what I should do. From the content that I can post, I should probably go for a travelling niche, but I feel like everyone is doing that, I'm not sure it would be the best strategy?

Fitness is out of the picture as my body is not up to par. I'm working on it, but with a skinny constitution to start with, I'm never going to be ripped enough to stand out in that niche.

I was thinking maybe architecture, just because it's something I've got shitloads of pictures of.

I like cooking, so a food niche would be obvious, but again, isn't that a little bit too commonplace?

4- A strategy. And especially here I need a lot of input.
Here are some questions as to the concrete breakdown

4.1 I have this IG account from 2014. I never use it but I have like 300 people from my network and family following me. To be honest I don't think they would even notice if I "disappeared", i.e. blocked them.
I read about the temporary ban thing with followliker if you push the numbers too quickly, but someone mentioned that old accounts were less limited. Is there any point in keeping the old account, just blocking all my current contacts and using that one to start afresh? It seems risky though, there's bound to be someone that lands on that account by browsing through some of my network. There would go the anonymity.
Probably better to start a completely new account?

4.2 How many pictures should you post before you set the bot running? people probably won't follow you back if they see they're being followed by an account with 0 followers and 1 post...

4.3 How often do you post content, particularly at the beginning? I read some of you guys saying you have thousands of followers and 25 posts, that just seems crazy! you just never update it?

4.4 I'm going to find some cool accounts/hashtags that I'll target followers from, but I was wondering, should I already start targeting a social circle in the country where I'm going to move? Try to kill two birds with one stone: getting a starting number of followers on the account, *and* getting followers that are in my target group in the city I'm moving to?
Or would it better trying to rack in followers from anywhere in the world and keep that separated from social game?

4.5. What's a realistic growth plan?

4.6 What are the usual routines? if I'm going to run this up to speed before august I need to get into the hang of doing some of this stuff every day. For example 1 picture every second day with a bit of text + following up on the bot, how long does that take every day? + what more?

okay. Well. That was a lot more questions than I realised I had when I started writing this post. Appreciate anyone taking the bother to answer just some of these!

RE: A Balanced Guide to Instagram Game
dont need FB to use IG.

ideally you want the name to reference your niche. dont stress this part, you can change it at any time.

can start the bot process even if 1 pic. ideally the more the better.

dont worry about which pics, post and post often... your audience will decide that from the response / engagement.

start posting 1 a day / 2 a day. depends on your audience.

2k is doable but unlikely. you would have to hit everything right. i would say 1k is more likely.
