GJ Roosh, great interview, went by too fast. It was a good introduction but he didn't get enough time to develop a lot of important ideas in just one hour.

Brilliant interview. I think the conversation was really steered well to the Roosh audience and our concerns. I for one will watch it again. So much wisdom shot straight from the hip; no apologies for the raw brutal truth

15 minutes in and I already know I will rewatch. You've great chemistry with him, he's enjoying himself, the bit about the horse reins/controlling passion and experience being the only school fools learn was fantastic, if it had even ended there it have been worth it.

This interview gave me the sneaking suspicion that the Deep Forum is going to come roaring back, and that the rest of this joint may end up being deleted.

I don't think big changes will be necessary. Many men are getting tired of game and travel because the rewards are not as big as in the past, even if they don't turn spiritual like me. Things will slowly move into this direction or that.

I wrote in the God Pill Thread that you discovering Father Ripperger - whose guidance over the last twelve months clearly revealed the Demonic Forces in my life and *reliably* guided me to on how best to repair the internal dysfunction that resulted from my sins - struck me as Divine Providence.

The Demonic and its worldly-agents tries hard, but it cannot build anything lasting, and, I'm increasingly-noticing that when it attempts to lead people into damnation it often results in the opposite effect. I've noticed how often what would strike an outsider observer as me physically-suffering is me being spiritually-strengthened.

Those who are of the world are worried at declining birth rates, younger people remaining virgins, and people abandoning casual sex. Being increasingly-detached, what I'm sensing is the potential Restoration of the Natural Law as the Demon's lose their ability to promote Sexual Excess. I sense the Clown Pill as a Doorway to Detachment for many people. I sense the rise of Incel could eventually lead men to restore Monastic Vocations.

Trust in God's Providence. This coming shift is going to be interesting to experience.

Let me tell you a story about that video. I forgot where I found it, but I believe a reader emailed it to me. I saved it to my Youtube list. It was there for about a week until I finally watched it on a Tuesday evening.

The following day, I see a text message from a friend in a group chat I'm in. The message was from a friend who sent a link to the exact same video. Thing is, he sent it the previous night, at about the same time I started watching it, so we both watched it at nearly the same time without knowing.

Lately I'm noticing a lot of good "coincidences" like this. Something is definitely happening.

I think you are right.

It's funny, you are getting some criticism from red pill guys (rian stone, black label logic) but they are missing something.

The human being consists of 3 parts (at least according to my teachings): Physical/Biological , intellectual/mind, and spiritual.

In order to be truly fulfilled, all 3 of those have to line up.

Red Pill is all about BIOLOGY as far as I'm concerned. It teaches you about female biology, and also about how to get your biological needs met.

The thing is though, at what cost, mentally and spiritually?

Even truer in this era when some western women are truly heinous personalities. Not good for the soul or the mind to be around them.

The idea that the red pill is just about “getting girls” is an oxymoron.

If you’re just chasing trivial aspects, then you’re still on the blue pill. If the extent of your “awakening” is just swapping out one dogmatic view of women for another then you’re still on the blue pill:

RE: The E. Michael Jones thread
Roosh, I also want to chime and say I’m impressed with how you’ve matured.

I admit when I first encountered RVF I had an impression of your writings similar to how seem to feel today about what you were doing seven years ago. I found a lot of it to be dogmatic, shallow, and I’ll adjusted.

The interview marks an amazing contrast and shows a remarkable level of depth, self reflection, and honesty. It also requires a significant level of courage to go up to someone with as cantankerous a personality as Jones and say “My earlier lifestyle was part of what you think is the problem”.

I don’t say this lightly when I say that you’re well on track to be a modern day Augustine. Just as with him taking the “God pill” and accepting that change from Hedonism has triggered a remarkable transformation and maturation in terms of your thought.

Unpopular opinion for the others: to me I feel like he’s gone from a child’s mindset to the mindset of a wise sage.

Side note: Compare Roosh from 2010-2012 to him in this interview and note the massive difference in the quality of his intellectual output without Orthodoxy vs. with Orthodoxy. Is it any wonder that Orthodox Catholicism is so heavily targeted by TPTB?

Lately I'm noticing a lot of good "coincidences" like this. Something is definitely happening.

This came up in a conversation after Mass today with an older man I was talking to. He said "At first I thought all these little things that happened were coincidences..."

"... but they weren't, were they?"

He smiled.

Then Sooth and I were talking this afternoon in chat, and this topic came up again, because he'd noticed one of the signs of the demonic I'd already identified for that piece I'm writing: the inability to rest and be still. I'll go into that when I post it, but I'll cut and paste a bit of what I wrote to him to save time rewriting it:

Quote:[Abba is] incredibly-subtle in his action.
The more control I give him, the easier life becomes.
The more you say thank you, the more he gives you.
The more you give up for him, the more he fills those spaces in your life.

We compared notes on the evident dysfunction on those around us who have to keep busy, then Sooth made this insightful observation:

Quote:If reason is a major way in which people come to the knowledge of God, then if you "have no time to think" then what do you expect?
Time to think is so important. Humans are the only creation that can think and change their soul as a result.

My response:

Quote:Ah, I was trying to write about exactly [in reply to Roosh's above comment] but haven't gotten around to it yet. Everyone thinks the problem is sin. No, God can work with that and repair the damage of sin. What he doesn't do is force you pay attention to him.

So, the war between good and evil is really fought on the level of your attention.

... which is why all entertainment must be converged and controlled by the (((Children of the Adversary))). Education. Television. Advertising. Psychology. Music. Books. Movies. Now Video Games.

They are all to distract you from the Father, so you never know him.

One of the constant messages of learning to walk with the Father last year was learning to staying present with him. Meaning, not wandering off in my head, or losing myself in easy entertainment. I was helped by this due to the toxicity of the culture: I didn't want to watch movies or television any more. I surprised myself by cutting off music for him. I no longer read anything but spiritual works (always with an Imprimatur).

It's not something I expect I'll ever master - he's like trying to catch and hold sunlight - but the more distractions you willingly-give up for him, the more clearly you're then able to detect his graces, because you're much more aware of everything around you. You get good at discerning when you're being guided. Note that in my above comment, I mentioned 'Divine Providence'. Note that Jones also said that in his conversation with you. Trust in the Rule of Three. If you heard it a third time in a day or two, research the concept.

One bit of interesting infused knowledge I received last year was the sudden understanding of how God had always operated in my life, meaning he was always there, even during the years I was veiled. I was never alone. As far as I fell, without his grace, it could have been much worse, and I'm very thankful for that grace.

A few days later, when reading St Therese of Lisieux's autobiography, she experiences the exact same understanding observing a hen protecting its chicks in the monastery gardens.

It's interesting how 130 years apart, we can share the same experience.

For the last three months of last year and the first three months of this year, I spent about five hours a day praying, in various ways. It might sound impressive, but I was really terrible at vocal prayer and devotions. It became an incredible burden of daily expectations to meet everything I wanted to achieve out of prayer.

See the problem? What I wanted to achieve. I had decided to sanctify myself rather than to let go of control, thereby letting Abba do what he does best.

Once I let go, with complete trust, he lifted me out of that burden of guilt-ridden expectation into Recollection, AKA 'The Prayer of Simplicity': I can simply rest in Abba, with no thought beyond knowing I'm loved and loving in return. This can be done in the midst of work and distraction, so detachment seems less of an issue now because I can find Him without losing myself.

As I wrote to Sooth:

Quote:Prayer becomes 'a simple loving glance towards heaven' in the midst of all activity. I cleaned out 200+ garbage bins yesterday. Every so often, I would rest internally as I outwardly-worked, in what the Carmelites refer to as 'the little heaven of your soul'. [Meaning you understand in Indwelling of the Trinity within your heart - His 'temple' - and pause to direct your love into yourself to Him]. Your knowledge of the Father becomes Experiential in nature. [Meaning you sense his activity in your daily activity]. It's a beautiful place to arrive at, but it was a long process to get there.

I was standing in the midst of 50 chattering people after Mass at the Carmelite Monastery this morning, sipping my tea, then... loved. The Mother Superior walked past and thanked me for a book I gave her, but since I was inwardly with Him it took me a few moments to return. She, however, recognized it for what it was.

Now I understand the odd sense of remove so many Religious I've met have. They never seem quite in the world. I suspect they're doing what I'm now doing.

Note that this doesn't make me special, or highly-favoured by the Father. This is open to everyone. I just simply did what all the books say: worked hard to detach from creatures.

Heh, I just looked up Recollection in the Catholic Encyclopedia:

Quote:Recollection, as understood in respect to the spiritual life, means attention to the presence of God in the soul. It includes the withdrawal of the mind from external and earthly affairs in order to attend to God and Divine things. It is the same as interior solitude in which the soul is alone with God.

This recollection is twofold:

Active recollection may be acquired by our own efforts aided by the ordinary grace of God. Thus any devout soul can acquire the habit of thinking of God's presence and of fixing attention upon Him and his Divine perfections.

Passive recollection does not depend upon our own efforts, but is an extraordinary grace infused by God, by which He summons together the faculties of the soul and manifests His presence and His perfections; this kind of recollection is classed by mystical writers as the first degree of infused contemplation.

The first kind of recollection belongs to ascetical devotion and practice. It is necessary for all who wish to attain Christian perfection. Without it, it is most difficult to make progress in virtue. Therefore, it is necessary to observe the means by which it may be acquired.

These are:

- silence and solitude, according to our state of life, keeping in mind, at the same time, that one may be recollected amidst the duties of an active life;

- the avoidance of distracting and dissipating occupations not dictated by reason or required by necessity. Multiplicity of occupations is an obstacle to recollection. Father Faber says that the man who undertakes too much is a foolish man, if not a guilty one.

- The frequent exercise of the presence of God. As recollection is itself an application of the mind to the Divine presence within us, it is evident that the shortest way to its acquisition is frequently to call to mind that our souls are the temples of God.

See how I already intuitively-understood all this without having specifically-researched it before now? This is The Father at work.

I didn't know exactly what had happened to shift me from A to B, but I re-read the first two pages of my spiritual diary for this year the other day, and can clearly see the guidance I was receiving in retrospect, having seen the promptings 'play out'. I might throw it up in the God Thread with an explanation when I get some free time, so those who are beginning to walk this path can see what I was now able to pay attention to, having given up most other distractions.

Trust in Father, and give him your attention. I sense Walking with Him is now very necessary, as time... well... feels short.

RE: The E. Michael Jones thread
^ As a footnote, there's a book of Carmelite Meditations called 'Divine Intimacy' - kind of a compliation of the teaching of the Carmelite Mystics - that you read over the course of the Liturgical Year, designed to lead you into Contemplation and then towards eventual Union with The Father. It's compiler, Father Gabriel, was considered a Mystic himself.

It's a Blessed Work, because it trains you to understand The Father as Infinite Love, and then to inflame the Will to love him in return. It's tied into the Tridentine Liturgical Calendar, and I've learnt to not fall behind, because it's commonly-exactly what the little coincidences have shown me is relevant to that particular moment.

I started just after Pentecost last year, so began in the middle of the book, and then returned to the beginning at the start of Advent. Due to being very busy helping Bill with a project, I fell behind a couple of days. When I sat down with it before Mass this morning, guess what the meditation was?

#152
THE PRAYER OF RECOLLECTION

I'm so used to this kind of thing by now that I wasn't even surprised. The meditation was less about 'something to aim for' and more about explaining what I was already-experiencing.

If you're naturally-drawn to silence, solitude and detached observation of events, seeing the links between experiences, you're probably an untapped Contemplative, so I highly-recommend the book for anyone with those qualities.
