Dallas Absolutely Sucks
I found myself in Dallas recently, for the first time in about a year, and man did it suck, having been a former Dallasite myself I don't miss the place. I will try to keep this post positive but Dallas sucks.

I started out at Local Moto + Provisions in the mid afternoon, which is a cafe, bar, and motorcycle shop in Oak Cliff. I think I would call this spot the highlight of my trip, there were a lot of cute college aged girls there. And they have a nice patio. When I first arrived, I was the only dude there. So, good ratios. Pricing a bit too high.

I met some girls there, and was waiting to meet with a buddy, so we chatted. Nothing special, just the typical hard-partying girls that you meet in Oak Cliff. My friend arrived and then we headed with these girls to a friend's house. Traffic was frankly horrible, and is thus another reason Dallas sucks. A 10min drive took 30...

At the friends place we drank beer, and the heat was killing me--seemed like it was easily 90.

The girls left, and after a lot of confusion, we decided on going to a house party (with live music). It was in one of Dallas' numerous no go zones, and I thought we were gonna be shot. The party literally started clearing out when we got there, and we ran out of beer. (It was already one Am, and we were screwed, now had to find a bar).

We went to a bar in Deep Ellum, and the bar was decently packed, and thus there was no way to be able to move around freely. 7 and 8 dollar beers, I don't even want to post the name of the place, not a fan of it. Thus i blew 40bucks in the span of an hour, on four beers and a shot. 2AM and it was all over. Didn't miss Dallas at all.

No offense man but going to a shitty house party doesn't seem to be a good way to judge the city. I know nothing about Dallas, maybe it does suck but it sounds like your experience was a single house party, hard to really judge a whole city based on that.

House party was not good, but then again, every house party i've been to in Dallas is bad. I'm suggesting that the beer is overpriced, the traffic too bad, and everything closes too early. You can find places with good ratios if you know where to look, but a lot of time it's just luck.

>> the beer is overpriced

Great, so don't drink it.

>> the traffic too bad

Lots of cities are this way.

>> everything closes too early

So you can close girls and get sleep as well? Sounds amazing.

>> You can find places with good ratios if you know where to look

Sounds like paradise. In SF, you can't find places with good ratios ever.

Right! I have a deep-seated hatred of Dallas, so maybe that's apparent. But, if you were an out of town person, looking to vacation somewhere in Texas, I would definitely try to steer you away from Dallas: to Austin, or Houston. But, I'm sure compared to California it would seem great, the traffic is not as bad and it's a lot cheaper, and there's a lot less socialist idiocy. Ratios can be good, but everyone in Dallas has a huge ego, and Dallasites think they're smarter than they really are. 12-2A are the big hours, but that's two hours and then everything closes at 2, so it's hard to have a good time when you only have two prime hours for partying.

Hey, I've only really seen Vancouver in enough detail to compare enough to Dallas.

Vancouver is more SJW, smells like pot everywhere, more expensive, bleak weather... But good density, that is it's a great place to walk around by foot--which is basically impossible in Dallas unless you are in Uptown, downtown, or Deep ellum. Vancouver would probably have the better Asian Food. Alcohol is troublesome to get in Vancouver and more expensive. Vancouver has a real sterile feel to it--in some ways like dallas-- although i think Vancouver is definitely safer. One of my favorite things about Vancouver was all the nature surrounding it and the water. Additionally, people in Canada are really friendly, so that would be another positive for Vancouver. Hope that helps man. My opinion is that Dallas women are probably better, places that are rainy always seem to have worse women. Dallas has a lot of blonde women, or women that adhere to traditional gender stereotypes. Maybe VC would be good if you like Asian women? Otherwise I think D is better.

Edit: just realized you are trolling me, but Canada is great.

Are you really a one time Dallasite? Because these observations are not really astute at all, nor contain the kind of wisdom one would expect from somebody with a modicum of the experience or understanding of the people and social scene dynamics. Seeing as how you appear unaware how many establishments in the vicinity of I 35 will simply lock all the doors at 2am, while allowing customers to remain and continue buying alcohol after hours suggests you haven’t invested enough time into the place. Dallas is rough on newcomers, because it tends to work in ways that are very counterintuitive to outsiders. It’s definitely a place where you have to find the spots far more often than the spots find you. That may not be for everybody, but for those of us who enjoy the challenge and adventure, it’s a fun process figuring out this city and others like it through trial and error if you have the will and time to do so.

You're being a bit hard on me man. I did 5 years there. Lock-ins, yes I'm aware of those man, I worked at one of those places--so I'm familiar with that scene and the house party scene as well. Granted, Dallas leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I do know the city pretty well.

Not a fan of Texas in general (weather, layout, and overall feel), so I’m not surprised. Obviously there are things about it that I like (food, politics, etc) but you can find good looking southern girls all over.

If you want me to spit out a Dallas datasheet i can do it, but I'm sure from what you've seen of me, I'm a bit bitter about Dallas.

Weird. My parents used to have an office around there, but I never noticed that place. North Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts is so hit or miss man.

I'd see hotties all the time Bishop Arts lunch time though weekend nights were a bit dreadful. Sylvan/30 can be decent for happy hour though it's gotten quite hipster-ish. Taco Deli off that corner has some hotties Sunday brunch time. I might try Cibo Divino for Happy Hour one day though....

Sounds like you were out/about Saturday when it got extremely hot here...(I was sick in bed all day..)

Parking is a mess in Deep Ellum. It's Uber or nothing. Due to the heavy amounts of meh chicks in Deep Ellum, any decent looking gal there is going to have major bitch shields. I do like Bottled Blonde on Thurs nights tho...

Local Moto is a bit new, under a year old. I was pleasantly surprised about the place, see above.

Bishop arts, used to mess with it, but it's not worth the drive (I prefer to stay east of the trinity). You have good intuition, it was sat. And it was hot.

DE: this used to be my old stomping grounds, but I'm growing to hate it more and more. Parking was actually ok, but we were on the edges of DE. I can tell you the name of the place, but you prob. have a general idea of the place I'm referring to. Never been impressed with the girls in DE.

I know what it's like to be in your shoes...coming back from EU..in the US again only to be severely disappointed by American chicks in general.

But might want to lay off dissing Dallas as a whole altogether bc of one day out on the town.

This is coming from a guy who's had multiple days like this back in the US after long ass travels heh

Dallas/Ft. Worth Area is incredibly sprawled out.

Even living in a trendy pocket outside of Downtown & sticking in that area isn't going to yield results. It's like playing Madden & expecting the two same plays to result in lays which isn't the case here.

You see the promised land and then can't forget it. It is very hard to not like cultured girls, who value their home culture more than a lot of American Globalized trash.

But might want to lay off dissing Dallas as a whole altogether bc of one day out on the town. Maybe my position will look less angry when I put out a datasheet on Dallas. I have always been of the opinion that Dallas is over-rated: big egos, Uptown not that fun at all, horrible traffic with no decent public transit, the whole city is balkanized into little districts and thus has no continuity, and difficulty finding solid people to hang out with.

This is coming from a guy who's had multiple days like this back in the US after long ass travels heh

The trouble is I started out doing a list of all the restaurants, bars and coffeehouses, I'm decently familiar with, and I got over 100,150 in a heartbeat. I can't do a datasheet with over 100 establishments....

I liked Dallas. People are friendly. Streets are wide. Gas is cheap. Everyone drives huge trucks. I sweat out 10 pounds in the Texas heat. I even bought a Gas Monkey T-Shirt while I was there.

Not to mention it’s the home of Pantera.

RE: Dallas Absolutely Sucks
The thing about Dallas and really DFW in general. IT is so huge that you really have to know the city well to know what is poppin that night. Not only that, it could be the spot this week and next week it is a miss. The big thing everyone is forgetting about Texas in general. "Everything is bigger in Texas" and that can be good and bad. However, you will find some of the most beautiful women in DFW area. I will also say you'll find a higher concentration of model types in Dallas. People in Dallas are quite educated. Therefore, you better have game. And you're game needs to be tight. You also have to hav a huge concentration of value. Women in Texas seen it all by 22-23 and even smart 7/8s get showered with tons of love therefore most women in Dallas live on a pedestal. The good news, you will find tons of encounters of hot women that may even be out of your league however if you got game it's possible. So that is the good n bad of DFW. To survive in Dallas, you got to at least have some form of money and doing some good things in life. You have to differentiate value not by talking about money, career n etc but more so about the journey/value that you have learned along the way. Creativity counts bc you got to separate yourself from a guy that makes 70K just like you. So the question you need to answer is why are you different then him.

Dallas Vs Vancouver.

A lot of similarities to where the hot 8s and up want you to spend the money to talk to them. THey have been pampered so well that their minds are in the clouds. The big thing I like about Vancouver is that you may find a 9 that is just as sweet and innocent where you can just talk to her like she is a 6/7.

The big difference about Dallas its definitely Big Time. A lot of college educated, oil and Gas industry and other big money factors. Big money is in Dallas. THen when you factor that to Vancouver. You will see people act like they have money but due to the HIgh cost of living in Vancouver. ITs hard to be balling it up in Vancouver so you wont see a high degree of competition factor where the you have 6 sets of rich guys throwing down money, bottles n VIP shit like you would in Vancouver bc when you factor housing, cars, and other high expensive shit in Vancouver. Men in Vancouver have less disposable income then to their brothers in Dallas area. 50K in Vancouver gets you by whereas in Dallas you can do some damage with Bottle Service etc etc.

BOTH Cities however are mainstream and its a high, flashy city. The major difference is Dallas people (talking about the average person in that city) have a lot more of disposable income whereas people in Vancouver don't.

Not only that, it could be the spot this week and next week it is a miss. The big thing everyone is forgetting about Texas in general. "Everything is bigger in Texas" and that can be good and bad.

Very good point. It's like my EA Sports Madden Analogy. Can't call the same play all the time. You have to be knowledgeable about the entire playbook really to make the right decisions every weekend. For example, you gotta know spots in just about every pocket to not get bored every weekend (Sylvan/30, Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, the two Korea towns, Highland Park, Preston Hollow, Shops of Legacy, Legacy West, Grand Prairie/Lone Star Park, Downtown, different areas of Uptown, Oak Lawn, Turtle Creek, West Plano, Addison, Richardson, Carrollton, Turtle Creek, Lakewood, Knox Street restaurant game, Henderson etc etc).

Most transplants who move to Dallas have it hard here really. They tend to just try Uptown every weekend or sometimes Lower Greenville/Henderson while just striking out. They stay for maybe about 1-2 years and then lose patience writing off the city altogether.

You'd be amazed by the single talent you might find at hidden spots in coffee shops, etc. What about Target off of Park/North Dallas Tollway? Central Market off of Coit/George Bush or one in Southlake? Apple Store off of Knox Street in Dallas? It's little shit like this that gets ignored off the daygame radar here bc the city/surrounding areas are so damn sprawled out.

The girls who seem more unattainable in the city are actually not as heavily pursued. Therefore, they can definitely be more attainable.

The 5.5-7 rated gal who plays in kickball/sand volleyball leagues, drinks craft beer, seems like one of the guys, wears flats, hangs at Stirr in Deep Ellum, frequents Truck Yard, and doesn't have as many female friends is the one HEAVILY SHOWERED with attention by thirsty dudes who don't feel as intimidated by those types.

Just sayin...

You have to differentiate value not by talking about money, career n etc but more so about the journey/value that you have learned along the way. Creativity counts bc you got to separate yourself from a guy that makes 70K just like you. So the question you need to answer is why are you different then him.

"Hey..Im a transplant..live in Uptown..am genuinely a cool guy...make 150K+ work long hours during the week..party on weekends..am indeed high value" = that's not good enough in Dallas.

A guy who makes exponentially less with a more interesting backstory, etc can beat a truly high value guy out in this city.

You're absolutely right about the backstory part. The work hard/party hard mentality in Dallas maybe used to work, but it doesn't anymore.....

People that have had interesting experiences in the past, travels, enjoys sporting events, has interesting hobbies, is involved in non-profit groups, plays tennis (or golf) amongst upper spheres of influences, maybe even takes a community college class for continuing ed purposes, goes to language exchange meetups, knows a good Korean BBQ place in suburbs, is in the loop on a art gallery event or cool country music concernt with hotties, etc typically have more interesting angles to play than a guy who makes serious bank but possesses very little leisurely time outside of his long work hours.

I emphasize on the bold statements bc those are true words that couldn't be spoken any better.

In a way, you got to be upto date (in dallas) when talking to successful women. Bring up topics that are different/unique but up to date to your area. Maybe you found out some new restaurant in the area that has an opening in the next week or two. Perhaps, a new farmers market is opening up. Hell, going to a winery I feel is unique as well bc you and her can learn things about Wine.
All these new things emphasize on value that is unique yet quite different. Its a value adder that allows men to think like non typical men n be more in depth. As you setup this non monetary "outing" then the things that actually do demonstrate monetary value will soon play it self out. The best way to allow money to work for you especially in Dallas is to allow money to play itself out on its own course!!!!

Another good pointer, there is a huge foodie kick going on. If you can work yourself into that convo then you can literally walk yourself into a date at some new restaurant that you both haven't been too. This has been a huge success for me with women with high value that make a 100K plus a year, for instance.

Ps. avoid the fitness gig talks bc everyone is doing that. That was so 5 years ago. Traveling topics abroad is huge bc Americans are finally letting go of that mentality of "Everything is better in the USA, why do we need to go abroad. When everything we need is in the USA." Clearly, don't start out with talking about traveling abroad bc that's what most typical guys do however when you are out n about on date 2, 3 its a great time to add value to your non-monetary value since that in essence is how you got the "hook"

PSS. If you can talk in a way that decreases your value but yet laying game in a positive way. That will get her to liking you as well. Because there is nothing sexier to a women then a man admitting he isn't good at something but yet is overcoming that obstacle. Women love that. It shows, a softer side that most of us guys avoid to partake. I wouldn't recommend going this route for the average guy bc you don't want to Decrease your value but done perfectly. This is a very effective measure of misdirection!

I agree with this to the most part. However, you can't beat out money when it all comes down when sealing the girl. I'm well aware you might not be able to spend a lot of time to go out and do things. I work 12-16 hours a day however, you can be creative and make it work. At the end of the day. If you want High end quality women, it pays to play. Eventually the guy who just plays creative angles runs out of funds. Meeting quality women is fucking expensive. Dallas women are top notch in n go round for round with other women from any other major city. My conclusion; be creative, stay current but have a good amount of disposable income is the ideal way to go.
