Social Media - Openness vs. Mystique
So social media has a huge part in game these days. Can't be avoided.

To me, there is two sides of the coin. On one hand, you can just post pictures of yourself every once in a while (preferably in high status situations), with general boring comments. Or, you can put out a personality in terms of videos that you find funny, political statements or even write "degrading" comments about women on your pictures (your own personality of course, but something that portrays you as an alpha guy).

The first route is the "safest" and nothing can really backlash. It also keeps up the mystique around you. And we all know women love mystique in a man. On the other hand, it can also backlash and you may just come across as boring and "just like everyone else".

The second route is more "risky". You may push some girls away with your opinions. You may even be seen as a "try hard" to some. On the other hand, the ones that find you interesting should be more interested than previously.

What is your take on what to post to sites like Instagram?

You're in the UK, so assuming your social circle is British/majority British the 2nd option is completely non-viable.

For the sake of the argument lets say it was though. Let us say you do not care about what your family, friends, ex-schoolteachers, future employers etc think of you. That is a different dilemma (if any) to deal with.

I believe only in the US or a heavily K selected country would having your own opinions or thinking for yourself be more favorable than conforming(appearing to, anyway) at least to some degree.

That's an American worry. I really have to assume the UK is like Aus and NZ- the mistakes are stirring too much shit and making the girl feel too bad by popping her deluded beliefs. Being scared of appearing like everyone else is sort of silly because the bedrock of Anglo culture is conformity.

Of course, I think saying degrading shit about women and posting stuff I find funny is really pleasurable, in part because i'm a natural shit-stirrer(sigma). Goes without saying I would never do it if I was neutral/impartial to both options.

Would never go political(except in throwaway tangents) because politics seems hard-wired biologically based on r/K selection and so you'll never convince anyone(more so than with any other topic, generally).

On social media you better shut up. In real life there is more leeway.

Total mystique- no social media here.

Yep the whole point of social media is just to make yourself look good, you shouldn't be making any political statements or things like that on there. You can show your personality more and kind of act a certain way based on the girl when you meet her in person.

Agreed.

So it most definitely can be avoided.
