Lock your phone so you can maintain OPSEC
Good night just chillin', but then there's a problem.

My phone dialed a number somehow.

There has been a 3-call exchange.

Was at the tail end of a game related convo when the calls happened.

I was of the opinion don't lock your phone because it wastes a lot of time.

Lock your phones guys, especially if you're having game conversations when you have your phone on you. It's not worth the risk.

What's a 3 call exchange? Who did you call?

About locking your phone. On my first day at a new company, my phone suddenly started playing a podcast very loud so that the whole room could hear it. Luckily the podcast wasn't about game. It was something about online business, still not a very good choice for a corporate wage slave on his first day at work. The podcast app somehow started automatically and even unlocked the phone. It was a buggy app which I deleted since then, but I still always make sure I close all my background apps, especially audio/podcast apps, before work.

I thought everyone had fingerprint unlock now. There's no reason to keep your phone unlocked except in the car and working out if you ask me. Those options are automatic and disable when you're not doing those activities, fix your settings bro.

Couple beers, nothing special.

The damn thing somehow made three calls to the same number.

In terms of privacy, of course it's great to lock it.

Personally, I am against finger print unlock and pattern unlocks.

The patterns can usually be discerned from the screen of the phone when held up to the light.

Finger print unlock can easily be forced by police etc without your permission should you ever find yourself in that position. I would stick to an 8+ digit pin if security is a concern.

Or you could take the advice of one of the forum's patron saints, the gmanifesto, and swap your soy-phone for a machete.

Numerical lock. I know a few players who got got by girls using their finger print scanner unlock while they were sleeping.

Let us try to maintain a higher standard of life than that of the multitude, but not a contrary standard; otherwise, we shall frighten away and repel the very persons whom we are trying to improve.

As soon as screen goes black, which is after 1 minute of inactivity, my phone locks itself. Just a simple option which will maintain "opsec".

Fingerprint is not a good option, I would also contend facial recognition is bad too.

With all due respect, this should not even be a discussion.
I agree with H1N1, 8 digit pin lock, at all times. The phone now is too damn important, not only for game and dating apps, social media crap and other bullshit but it has your personal email, your contacts list, your multi factor authentication, (for some people) your banking app, (for some people) your credit cards in your googe/android/samsung/etc pay.
Cheers!

Never use fingerprint lock. You can conceivably be physically tricked/forced into opening your phone. PIN lock and encryption.

Dragan it was me... I was looking for dick pics to send to a client of mine from your phone. Viber changed up their privacy policies recently so I was just exploiting it.

There's very little cyber security that can defeat the $5 wrench attack.

Yeah, but at least my phone will still be locked while I'm bleeding out.

There was a case recently where police officers actually tried to use a guy's dead body to unlock his phone. It didn't work, but still.

Dont use fingerprint or PIN, use an alphanumeric password with letters, numbers, and special characters. Make it longer than 8 characters. Sure it takes a little longer to log into your devices, but nobody is getting in there.

I keep mine password only, not only does it secure my device but the inconvenience of unlocking it discourages me from taking it out compulsively. I'm more present and engaged with the outside world as a result.

Stop watching porn on your phone and don't install malware infected apps either...
Your phone will be way more secured that way

Tell them too much, they wouldn't understand; tell them what they know, they would yawn.
They have to move up by responding to challenges, not too easy not too hard, until they paused at what they always think is the end of the road for all time instead of a momentary break in an endless upward spiral

I guess I just don't care that much anymore, no one is touching my phone but me. I don't put myself in situations where I have to worry so much. *shrug*
