Here's a blockbuster movie trailer we preemptively made

The movie will be called Paris 2020

Here's some behind the scenes action for you movie buffs, we call this scene "Mon appartement à Paris"

I'm going to say I'm joking because I sent this joke to a friend in France and he actually thought I was serious.

So, the recruits can die during training and Legion will not be prosecuted because of it? How did they get to be exempt from the law and is this the same case in the US military? Bit of a morbid question, but what is the most common way recruits die during training?

An idle curiosity.

Was there anyone who entered with notable (but not exclusionary) psychological issues who was reformed by the legion? Introverts. People with anger issues. Depression. Etc.

Legion is my plan Z for if I have nowhere left to go. Thanks for reminding me why it's my Plan Z and nothing before that.

Thank you and god bless!

It's happened but it wouldn't be intentional I don't know what a common way would be.

I think most guys that join have some underlying issues. Not to get in a off topic debate but I've always sorta been under the impression that a lot of psychological issues like depression ect... are situational. We train heavily daily and exercise has been known to take care of depression. A lot of people had anger issues, I know I did and still do to some extent or at least a short temper. The legion has a very low threshold for anger outburst or self pity type behavior so it's likely you'll be given some extra duty/training. We also kick people out for too many disciplinary problems and it's actually not uncommon although most dessert before getting kicked out. I actually came out the legion with an extra common issue which was PTSD but the french government covered me getting a relatively new treatment for it called a SGB (Stellate ganglion block) it worked on me but does not work on everyone. Having PTSD definitely exacerbated my anger issues for a couple of years out (until I got my treatment.)

So I'd say whatever issues you came into the legion with you'll likely leave with + a few more. That said most guys coming out will have much better coping skills then what they came in with. A lot of guys came from really shitty families, really shitty countries and really shitty situations and had no practical life management skills. The legion will definitely help guys going in under the above conditions.

Once I got into a leadership role most new guys entering my regiment required a lot of help to reduce self destructive behaviors. I always got a stack of notes on every single guys observed issues from the time to entered until their final day in the training regiment. Some of that stuff can take a few years to correct when the guy has spent a lifetime of almost zero impulse control. Part of our jobs as NCO's is to work with the guys having problems. If they show they are putting in the effort to help themselves we'll do whatever we can to match their efforts. But being tolerant, patient and understanding is not part of that social contract.

On the introvert/extrovert question, I think introverts are better suited for the legion which is my opinion. As long as you socialize normally with your peers. Extroverts I met in the military would tend to go out and talk too much about what they were doing when they were in with civilians. When I was active in the legion I did not tell anyone anything. Even out in France if someone asked me what I did for a living I would make something up. I feel like extroverts would have a difficult time with that even though it's not a requirement. I never understood why guys would talk about being in the legion when under contract. I've never been under the impression that introverts can't also be very confident. The legion gave me a new identity even new parents names, country and history. To me that meant my life while under contract should be concealed in full.

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
You sure seem to have lived an interesting life Nola for someone who is only mid 30s.

(06-01-2018 11:25 PM)nola Wrote:  I'm in my mid 30's now... I live abroad and very financially secure. I still get depressed.

The time in the foreign legion and navy:

(06-01-2018 11:25 PM)nola Wrote:  I did 7 years in the French Foreign Legion and 6 in the US Navy. Here is the nut shell contained in an acorn.

13 years in the foreign legion and navy put together.

You entered the navy at age 17:

Quote:I enlisted in the US Navy Reserves in the delayed entry program at age 17 just before college to become a corpsman. I became what they call a Greenside Medic with the US Marines. I went through 2 deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan and got an honorable discharge after completing 6 years.

I assume this was before you graduated from MIT, so you entered MIT, when you were 23 years old?

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68503...pid1786953
(05-20-2018 02:41 PM)nola Wrote:  When I got into MIT I thought I was going to be the next Bill Gates, Ray Stata, Tom Perkins, or Eli Broad, I ended up in a Lab in the suburbs of Massachusetts building optics and programming tactical data systems for the DOD making 32k per year..... I was depressed...

You spent 27 months working and living in shipping container:

(05-20-2018 02:41 PM)nola Wrote:  When I got into contracting for the Navy and USMC overseas in a war zone. I thought I was going to be a thought leader for what I was working on. I lived in a shipping container and spent 27 months getting fucking screamed at about quotas... I was depressed....When I left that job and joined a startup

Was this after your graduated from MIT? I assume they don't contract 18 year old kids. Maybe I am wrong.

You left that job to join a startup:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68503...pid1786953
(05-20-2018 02:41 PM)nola Wrote:  When I left that job and joined a startup, I thought I was going to be the guy that made out like a bandit on my options package in two years. The company took 7 years to IPO..... I was depressed...

You then served 7 years in french foreign legion:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68679.html
Quote:I served for 7 years in the 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment known as 2e REP based on the Island of Corsica. I've been out 4 years now, so the data I'm giving is up to date until leaving and some is based on conversations I've had with active members I'm still in touch with.

You broke your leg after only 20 weeks and returned to the US:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68503...pid1786953
Quote:I left the USA and joined the French Foreign Legion. I thought I was going to become a soldier of fortune. I broke my leg 20 weeks into training jumping out of a plane and went back to the US.... I was depressed...

You then found time to be a deep sea diver on oil rigs for 1.5 years:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68503...pid1786953
(05-20-2018 02:41 PM)nola Wrote:  I took up training as a saturation diver in the Northwest thinking I was going to become the next Jacques Cousteau. I ended up doing demolitions and pipeline NDT testing on oil rigs for 1.5 years.... I was depressed...

What's even more spectacular is that you also found time to captain private (multimillion dollar) yachts for 8 years in both Croatia and Miami:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-43419...pid1340723
Quote:I used to Captain private Yachts for 8 years and did a stint running a 264ft Perini Navi Private Charter Yacht out of Split Croatia.

I lived on a $64 million dollar Yacht as a Captain with a skeleton crew for 10 months in Split. Which means I lived alone on the Yacht serviced by contractors for a Wealthy family. Every fucking girl I brought down the dock that family knew within minutes from port security.

You're mid 30s so you certainly had a busy life:

6 years in the navy (age 17-23?)
MIT graduate (age 23-27?)
2 years in navy consulting work (age 27-29?)
Several years in a startup (age 29-31?
1.5 years as a deep sea diver (age 31-33)?
7 years in the foreign legion (age 33-40?)
8 years chartering luxury yachts (age when?)
Own 3 condos and a sailboat in Miami

Broadiage was also impressed and asked:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68503...pid1786991

Quote:Do you have a brother who works for NASA by chance?

You don't of course, but you do have a cousin who is a shuttle pilot

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68503...pid1787015

Quote:^ no my brother works for the DOD (civil service). My 1st cousin was a space shuttle pilot and we are from the same town. He passed away years ago though.

I'm going to go ahead and say I am impressed.

Poor Hank Moody though. He couldn't even be allowed to claim to be a lawyer who had a motorbike without getting doxxed.

Oh, I forgot, I sold you short my man. I forgot that in 2016 you were going around in New Orleans doing gigs on your pakistani drum:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-56831...pid1340586
Quote:I don't know about other Cities but I'm a white guy that plays a Dohl Drum, it's Pakistani but looks like something out of Africa and in New Orleans, It's a literal pussy magnet.

Day's I'm not busy I'll go to Louis Armstrong Park or the Fly and practice. Even got a Black kid and a Trained Pakistani player to play with me and I can run Culturally Openminded Diverse game on tourist girls all day long.

It's good to be able to tell girls you have a real life good paying day job though. The other two guys I play with do get laid and have good game but rarely get repeats as they are both pro musicians which from what I've seen really only attract Hipster Feminist SJW types.

Yeah, it's good to be able to tell girls you have a day job and that you're an MIT graduate, with money from a startup IPO, who served 7 years in the foreign legion and owns 3 condos and a sailboat - but now spends his time playing a drum in the daytime in New Orleans. And has a weird Penchant for randomly Capitalizing words.

Oh yeah, and you do like to Randomly Capitalize words:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-50871...pid1340662
Quote:Milo is the best troll ever, and we should all support him. Advertising he is a white Educated Gay who likes to fuck Black Dudes and using this to become an Editor of a internationally Known conservative publication while appearing on national networks.?

I'll place bets he is not even gay and playing the I'm confused game in his private life.

If only I could remember some dude who randomly capitalized words and wrote about Milo and who hasn't been posting for a good while?

Hmmmm....

It's also rather interesting that you went almost 2 years without making a post.

When you posted in 07-06-2016, you were running "male feminist game" (https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-56825...pid1340648) in New Orleans, that's where your name is from.

Quote:I've personally played the Male Feminist game many times in a psychopathic way.

I'm no Rocket Scientist but I'm pretty sure that does not go with the Gender Queer, Feminist, Bernie Movement.

You're selling yourself mate, because let's recap: you went to MIT, you cashed out from a startup, you captain multimillion yachs, you spent 7 years in the french foreign legion.

I'd say you're pretty damn close to a rocket sicentist, I just wonder why 2 years ago, such a man as yourself was playing "male feminist game in a psychopatic way" using your pakistani drum. Is that the time best spent for a man of the world with 3 condos and a sailboat (educated at MIT, startup experience, yacht captain, military vet).

1.5 years go by and now you're a former foreign legion vet with 3 properties and a sailboat.

I'd say you come a long way from playing the pakistani drum and Randomly Capitalizing Words.

There is a kind of a strange coincidence though.

The day you stop posting for 1.5 years (07-06-2016), Daddy Chains who was banned, posts this:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-43419...pid1340848

Quote:^^NASA Test Pilot^^ back in the saddle again.

Then you go off the grid for 1.5 years.

For those of you who want to do some research, check this out:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_...erini_Navi

A captain, especially an eight year on the same boat captain, knows his footage. The nautical angle was present with NTP and a few others. Attention Anonymous Bosch.

Maybe this guy was the captain of The Maltese Falcon, and fudged the numbers a little, but why after so many other outlandish claims.

Oh, and if you need help converting feet to meters send Debguiled a message. It will remind him of merry old england.

Quote:Long story short I moved all over the US started several quasi successful businesses. I did not get rich but made a comfortable life.

From college in Boston until my early 30's I lived in New York, Miami, Key West, New Orleans, Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, Chicago and randomly Dana Point, CA.

The reason I mention the above is because I tried literally every city in the US looking to escape whatever was plaguing me at any given time. Usually just cultural stuff and not always women.

Here's what I think.

Someone with a shady past. Rootless. Probably educated in MIT, probably with some military experience.

Two years ago posts rather incoherently and using weird punctuation and capitalization.

Suddenly pops up in Kharkiv, Ukraine (https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-37535...d1722255), which is right smack in the middle of the ongoing proxy war between Ukraine and Russia.

http://euromaidanpress.com/2017/05/30/kh...view-uatv/

Quote:And so this is why I wrote about Sloviansk and this is why I wrote about Kharkiv. And Sloviansk, as we said, at one point was the epicenter of the war, that was where it was happening.

http://bunews.com.ua/politics/item/rejec...ition-plan

Quote:From Moscow’s point of view, Kharkiv was also by far the most important city of the future “Novorossia” or “New Russia” - the new client state the Kremlin hoped to create from the wreckage of a partitioned Ukraine.

And I find out that Nola is going to run a callcenter in Kharkiv of all places:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-68663.html

Quote:I need to set up a tech support call center for one of my businesses and was wondering if anyone has an experience doing this.? It's going to need to be able to handle a relatively high volume of calls and will need to operate 24/7.

And suddenly Mr. Nola here begins giving a lot of opinion on military and political issues in the political subforum.

Then in this thread, he gives some information on obtaining forged passports in Moldova:

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-63640...pid1770861

Quote:Actually there is a way around this in Moldova and I know from a past experience (maybe still) in Ukraine. All you need is a lawyer with the proper connections if you get my hint. It takes a bit of calling around and I'd suggest seeking an attorney outside of the capital cities.

With the right attorney and it'll cost some money you can get a legal citizenship pretty quickly in places like Moldova and maybe still Ukraine.

Quote:Thanks for your reply and also I'll note in Ukraine there is a very large underground market for faked/forged passports and documents so unless you're picking up your papers outside of Ukraine at a Ukrainian consulate and getting your passport at a issuing body in Ukraine you can best bet the stuff you're getting is fraudulent and will not work even short term. And god only knows what the authorities would do to you if caught with fake papers. I have a Moldovan friend who did 6 months in jail for it but not sure about Ukraine or Moldova if you were non local. I'm sure the penalties and cost would be even worse plus the possibilities of also facing additional charges when you return to your home country. In the USA the Foreign Anti Corruption Act covers this

Do you think someone might have a reason to be a little apprehensive and skeptical?

If I was a really paranoid type, I might speculate as to alphabet soup.

Shit, bro... I figured out the Russian collusion scandal! He's working for the Trump Administration! Quick mods delete this before CNN sees it!

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
Why is this information fake? Have any of you been in the Legion to confirm or deny the information provided?

I've met Nola in person, and can confirm that he is 100% legit. He spent half the night trying to convince me to look into applying for the Legion given where I'm at in life. He even called up a few of his former legion friends to prove he wasn't full of shit. He also showed me emails he sent to family as a cover story while in the field.

I was sceptical at first when we started talking, but he proved himself not to be a lier.

Are you applying for a job with Nola, be honest:

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
-Nomad...um, yeah I actually did...we met a year ago and knew mutual people. I applied to work with his company and verified his background thoroughly when we first started talking about a position.

He provided me with references that have known him for well over 10 years. We grabbed drinks one night with other veterans from the US, and I listened to them talk about FOBs in Afghanistan that they had posted in...including details about commanders and geography. I sat in on a phone call he had with his dad discussing his time in the military. He's shown me the scars he received in battle, and told me precisely what happened that led up to being shot. He even told me stories of his doctor in Germany after surgery and how the PT therapist was a brunette with big teeth.

I had to fill out government security paperwork in order to work with him, which is what I was discussing in that other thread.

Not only that, I've heard him talk for hours with other forum members online directly offering life advice.
