RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
Ok, thanks for confirming that he is likely running a shady propaganda outfit in Kharkiv, probably sponsored by private money. At least he is claiming to you right? Maybe it's just a boiler room selling penny stocks and taking advantage of the absence of law in Ukraine at the moment. That too seems likely.

However, did you get the job, if not, do you know it even exists?

I'll just tell you this bro, since you seem reasonable.

Shady people claiming to be ex-military are a dime a dozen in expat locations. If I were you, I might be a cautious.

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
Well, if submitting 300 pages of official government paperwork to an agency is required for a position, that is the definition of another shady. I had to interview with the department as well upon submission.

When he was back in the USA, I met him in Austin and New Orleans where he introduced me to locals he continues to work with.

I had to interview with prominent business people in the US that are shareholders in his company. For obvious reasons, I'm not going to disclose nola's business - he can choose to share what information he feels comfortable with.

I did a thorough vetting process when we first discussed this position, and confirmed he earned the degree he discussed in his post.
I've seen his government identification and he's provided specific people for me to contact in government.

He also introduced me to a high up guy in the Ukranian embassy, and they were making jokes about internal affairs. This guy offered to introduce me to a lot of government officials all over Europe.

If he's full of shit, than it appears he's fooled his family, the government, and some pretty prominent investors. Thank you for being concerned for my professional well-being. I had some similar reservations based on his background and experiences when we first met, but he was open to providing any references I asked for and was even willing to share personal emails to alleviate my concerns.

This story just gets better and better.

Now Nola also knows high up guys in the Ukrainian embassy, who he is joking with about internal affairs, and now this high ranking ukrainian embassy guy - who you claim to have met - just casually jokes around about introducing you to "high ranking european officials".

Because that's what "high ranking embassy" people do all the time.

This is just all around a cool story bro.

So yeah, I'm going to say that you're either Nola (who hasn't responded despite reading this thread) or that Nola really is running some shady alphabet psyop thing.

In either case, I'd say further explanation might be warranted.

I don't know why nomadbrah's giving you such a hard time.

I've been colluding with Ukrainians all day on board a multimillion dollar mega yacht.

And when I was working on my top secret government security clearance I talked about it in the forum all the damn time. I started a thread called "where my aliens at" or something like that.

Some people's kids.

Consults with "prominent US businesspeople" and jokes around with "high ranking ukrainian officials".

Owns 3 condos and a sailboat in the US.

Lives in a $175 /month apartment.

It's very very cheap everywhere.

Yeah, nothing says big time businessman with connections to "prominent us investors" and then living in a $175 apartment, when according to Numbeo you can live in a 3-bedroom city centre apartment for $500.

There's being frugal and there's being broke.

I by the way am impressed by nomadbrah's excellent detective job, but still believe that Nola's stories are plausible, well-documented and well-written, and I think they're coming from real-life experience. Anyway I am curious to hear Nola's replies to nomadbrah.

There's being frugal and there's being broke, ok, but also there's paying local people's prices because you know the language and have local friends. I am not surprised that a man perfectly-embedded in Ukrainian society, could pay just like 200 usd for a very nice flat in Kharkov. Heck, I could pay the same price in Simcity for a very nice apartment, if I wanted.

Well, I guess I am now Nola's official forum lawyer by the way? Blush

That's an idea for Roosh: each time a highly-repped member is suspected of being a possible troll, another member should be appointed as his legal counselor and tasked with his public defense?

I had my doubts about nola when he said "i basically run 19th century game and make offerings to the saints on church dates". Jumping out of a plane into the Atlantic (when stationed in Corsica) and the legion bothering to come to get you... a bridge too far. Good detective work.

Nola claims he was in the FFL video of them jumping out of the plane.

Can any guys that have met him confirm that he's in the video? No need to point him out, of course.

Seems like a pretty simple way to confirm he was in FFL or not.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

As Nola's (self-appointed) forum lawyer, I have to answer this one, a tough one, granted: Jumping out of a plane into the Atlantic (when stationed in Corsica) Confused

My lawyer's answer is: There was a strong wind, westward, and parachutes do drift.

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
I just arrived in Bucharest a few hours ago, to stop off in between heading to Serbia. So I'm happy to meet anyone here or in Serbia when I get there in a few days.

First I'll address the age and timing question + some of brahs questions.

I served in the US Navy (reserves) I was not active duty Navy except during two deployments and during training. You can go to college and serve in the reserves, you can also have other civilian jobs while in the reserves. Which I did, many actually. I started working for a start up my final year for college and as an early employee I got a good options package. It took me me an extra year to complete college because I deployed once while in. After I graduated I deployed one more time. By federal law it's illegal for the company I was working with to fire me for getting activated in the reserves.

I discharged from the US Navy (Reserves) around the age 23. I joined under parents consent at age 17 also legal.

After I discharged I continued to work for the startup until my vesting period was over which means all my stock options in the then startup were 100% vested. It did not IPO until while I was in the Legion. I also helped a few college friends start their businesses while in college in which I was also issued stock and some of those did very well but I was not a co-founder nor doing the grind with them.

In between my US Navy (Reserve) service and the French Foreign Legion I estimated 2 years in the original post I was around 24 when I joined and got out right before my 32nd birthday in the early stages of a 2nd contract with the Legion. That's right around 7 years in the Legion.

When I got out of the legion I cashed out some stock from a few start ups and invested in a few small businesses in the US and started a consulting business in security that caters to all kinds of clients both private and government.

I traveled around the US for a bit after I was out of the legion as well mostly staying in places where I was looking into business ventures to invest in.

Also during my leave in the Legion I traveled around Europe as my relationship with my family was strained at the time.

I'm in my mid 30's and that's all I'm going to say whether I've been out 3 years or 5 years is no one on the forums business.

To address some other post about Ukraine's black market for fake passports uh well Ukraine has a black market for fake documents talking about it is not endorsing it. Me learning to play the Pakistani Dhol or owning a sailboat or buying a condo or rental property is not a big deal. I never said I was cruising around in a Ferrari buying mansions

The last thing is me having summer jobs on Yachts is not unusual in the community I grew up in. I grew up in a southern yachting community. A lot of kids had summer jobs like this working for the uber wealthy. I also attended trade schools while in college for maritime related trades, when I got certified or licensed in one I got a part time job in it. Again not that abnormal. Some kids liked fucking around after class in college I usually signed up to learn something new preferably that would earn me money because my parents have a strict your can work your way through college thing. Not only did I do it in High School but in college during the summer major yachts came up to New England where I was in school so I got jobs on them.

That's all I can think of for now unless anyone has anything else. It''s normal to be skeptical on a forum so no skin off my back to answer.

I have met forum members on here in person and if they want to share they can, I am going to be in Serbia in a few days and meeting one forum member that post a lot on Serbia I'm sure people can guess who that is. Also I'm not SuperiorClimber but I did hire him and also I directed him to this forum after he shared some personal things with me.

I also post where I'm at usually and extend offers to meet up with anyone who wants to.

You didn't say you worked on yachts in the summer for the "uber rich" in New England, you said you were a captain on a 264ft Perini Navi boat in Split, Croatia. Captain, not deckhand.

https://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-43419...pid1340723

As Kona showed, there has been exactly ONE Perini Navi boat that is 264ft or around that length, which is the Maltese Falcon chartered by the likes of Larry Page and Hugh Jackman.

You're telling us, that you just happened to become captain on a $64 million yacht, while in college, while a navy reserve, while working "many civilian jobs" AND deploying once.

Just fucking around summer job captaining a $64 million yacht.

Quote:But since there are far more captains than "mega" yachts, competition for those jobs is stiff, Saxon said. There are only about 500 spots worldwide.

I guess Nola, you're just legit the most interesting man in the world.

Like you just, sort of in between classes at MIT and your navy reserve training, just happen to become one of 500 yacht captains on one of the worlds largests yachts.

https://www.superyachtuk.com/Careers/Job...ns/Captain

Quote:A Captain must have considerable maritime experience and training and will normally have significant experience gained in either the superyacht or the merchant navy sectors. A Captain of a superyacht has to have excellent seafaring knowledge, a good grasp of accounting, IT and administration and also deal with authorities on matters such as paperwork and health and safety. Previous experience of yacht handling is essential and handling a yacht of the same or similar sizes a distinct advantage. The Captain must be highly skilled at dealing with people, both crew and the owner/guests. Personnel management skills are very important.

Can you explain this?

In your post now, you say you joined the startup in your last year in college, but your earlier post, you write you spent 27 months contracting the Navy before then quitting and joining the startup.

Does that mean you spent 27 months as a contractor for the army in college where you quote "thought I was going to be a thought leader"?

I stated Physics in my post but I'm not going to give my actual course #, residence, graduation year ect... out on the forum. I lived in Inman square in East Cambridge most of my years, except for my Freshman year when I lived in the dorms my 2nd year I lived in a Harvard house (unauthorized) with the girl that later became my ex wife.

Did you forget your time as a commercial diver in the Northwest?

Quote:I took up training as a saturation diver in the Northwest thinking I was going to become the next Jacques Cousteau. I ended up doing demolitions and pipeline NDT testing on oil rigs for 1.5 years.... I was depressed...

Ok.

I just want to make sure I understand this.

- You are a Physics graduate from MIT
- You are one of 500 worldwide captains of megayachts
- You are one of 336 saturation divers in the US
- You have worked as a private contractor for the Navy
- You have been deployed twice in Afghanistan while in college
- You have served 7 years in the French Foreign Legion
- You own 3 condos in the US and a sailboat that you charter (but live in a $175 Kharkiv apartment)
- You are friends with high ranking Ukraine officials

Do I have this correctly?

Quote:A Captain must have considerable maritime experience and training and will normally have significant experience gained in either the superyacht or the merchant navy sectors. A Captain of a superyacht has to have excellent seafaring knowledge, a good grasp of accounting, IT and administration and also deal with authorities on matters such as paperwork and health and safety. Previous experience of yacht handling is essential and handling a yacht of the same or similar sizes a distinct advantage. The Captain must be highly skilled at dealing with people, both crew and the owner/guests. Personnel management skills are very important.

Yes, and many deckhands and mates on large yachts are also licensed Captains why don't you look up the requirements for getting 50 - 100 ton USCG license I got my 6 pack at age 18 it's pretty fucking easy. Many times mates will run the vessels as most times the Captains on these types of vessels are career Captains and take time off like any other job.

Also yes I did do a deckhand stint on Tom Perkins yacht when he still owned it. I have pictures on it in dress whites.

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
@Nomad, you haven't met anyone in real life according to your reps, maybe you have a sensitive job. But maybe, also you owe us an explanation for why it hasn't happened. Coincidentally I've repped Nola but he hasn't repped me back, so I guess that means I have at least some independence when I say the following:

Congruency, see if his info checks out with publicly (or privately) available info about the Legion. From my understanding of the Legion, what Nola is saying is perfectly congruent with publicly available info about the Legion. Do you have any legion contacts? Hit them up I guess. If not, do some research on the legion.

I know Nola decently well, we talk a lot on Skype, have seen his face, whatever the hell you want to call it. He's seen me also, and I've met several forum members that are repped in Belgrade. If he's coming to Belgrade (he is), it's my personal mission to meet him.

Him and superiorclimber are two distinct people, because I'm in contact with them on a semi-regular basis. If you don't buy that, I'll see if they're two distinct people when they get here to Belgrade.

Let's talk about omission/ continuity errors. I'm a pretty new forum member, so I haven't analyzed people's posts for continuity errors like some high-repped forum members are in the habit of doing. First thing, we're on the fucking internet, don't fucking over-analyze. Meet forum members in real life and then make your judgement call. As a courtesy I'll meet any forum member that comes to Belgrade if they reach out to me, the only exception is if I get a trollish vibe from them. I think once I met someone with like 5 posts. And they were cool.

Second, I frequently omit details, mess with timelines, or get some of my facts messed-up. And, I'd add, it's not out of a desire to mislead or be untruthful. A lot of time it's because of lack of proofing, guesstimating (for example I don't know exactly how many approaches I've done so far), or a desire to protect personally identifying info about myself. Third, sometimes people post drunk, you can't really ascertain on the internet if someone is drunk when posting. Also, when you're drunk, sometimes you mess up on small details. I'm not accusing Nola of posting while drinking, but I certainly had my own posts that were written with the help of a bottle of Black Label.

Nola gave me some pretty good medical advise (and I mean really good), and game advise, since I got here to Belgrade, so for whatever that's worth he's credible in my book.

There are a lot of contrarians on this forum, and also people who do interesting stuff, but can't always reveal everything publicly for the whole world to see. That's ok, I'm a contrarian, and I can't always reveal all the stuff I'm doing.

Sometimes I think people take rep points too seriously, especially on threads/datasheets that are hot. It's an internet forum. There's an ongoing discussion about why people aren't putting out datasheets, one of the reasons they're not is because they get cruicified for freely giving value to the whole world. I think, frankly, that's a bit messed up that people are sharing valuable info with the forum and then get chewed out for it.

You're pulling a lot of things out of context plus addressed your questions in full but yeah sure I'll claim it for the sake of it.

I don't really need to prove anything to you, also I actually do offer to meet people off the forum and actually have.

Honestly nola has some personality so I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt on not being NTP(NTP talked like a robot) and isn't calling us all basement dwellers like Captain Candidly Moody did while circle jerking about his Sonos speakers, designer dad jeans, and stripper girlfriend.

And he's met atleast one decently repped person thus far.

So yeah.

My two cents thus far.

Also I like his posts so I don't want him to be a NTP.

RE: How to Join the French Foreign Legion
I guess I should make a new handle as my real full name and attach all my data and resume to it, meanwhile I can put my private email and all my professional references in my signature. If I did that the last thing I'd do is share any datasheets, information or thoughts about anything on the forum.

Since I guess posting and being willing to meet people in person is not enough. I actually do carry evidence of my past life on me when traveling. If a forum member I meet in person really wanted to see it I have no problem with that providing I get to see his as well.

One forum member that knows me went to bat for me and you accused him of being me or that he is working with a fraud or I'm working for a government agency.

I'm flying out to Serbia to meet another forum member who acknowledged he's talked to both SuperiorClimber and me plus both SuperiorClimber and myself are meeting the other member in Serbia in a couple of days. Yu did not even acknowledge that as it does not support your accusations.

I'll show Dragan my credentials since I've spoken with the guy enough and we'll meet in person. I have to carry them for my business anyway.

I suspect if all my identifications and credentials are confirmed those will be fake as well. Maybe I'm also Dragan as well.
