Spain Elects Feminist Government
It's official, Spain has just gone full feminist following in the footsteps of its ideological big sister, Swedistan. Spain's new prime minister Pedro Sanchez just assembled a new cabinet, of which 11 of the 17 cabinet positions, plus the role of Congressional party spokesperson, have been filled by women.

Okay, technically speaking Spain didn't actively elect a feminist government this week, rather it was shoved down its throat by a clever political maneuver courtesy of now PM Pedro Sanchez. But clearly such a political stunt could not have been possible in the first place had Spanish citizens over the past decades not increasingly been casting their vote in favor of feminists candidates who almost without exception peddle a borderline communist/Marxist political agenda.

And yes, in case you're wondering, Rajoy has finally been ousted, and instead of fighting back has chosen to gentle into that good night.

Quote:When hundreds of thousands of women in Spain took to the streets on International Women’s Day to demand equal rights, Pedro Sanchez saw the moment as a turning point.

“After March 8, Spain changed,” Sanchez, secretary-general of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party, said later in a televised interview. “Women went out to claim their role and their power of transformation to construct a society that has to have as a principle value gender equality.”

On Thursday, Sanchez, as the country’s new prime minister, saw a 17-member Cabinet take office that consisted of 11 women and six men. Women hold key posts such as deputy prime minister, economic minister and justice minister.

Sanchez said the appointments marked the first time since Spain returned to a democratic system in the late 1970s that the Cabinet included more women than men. The country had been run for decades by dictator Gen. Francisco Franco, who died in 1975, and in recent years saw varying numbers of women in Cabinet posts.

The government of Spain seeks to be a faithful reflection of the society that we hope to serve,” Sanchez said during a news conference Wednesday night. “The new government is born with the objective of serving the modernization of Spain, to make it grow in a sustainable way and regenerate the public life of our country.

The new Cabinet includes Carmen Calvo, a former culture minister, as deputy prime minister and human rights prosecutor Dolores Delgado as justice minister. The new economy minister, Nadia Calvino, has been the European Commission’s director-general for the budget for several years. Spain has the fourth largest economy in the European Union.

Sanchez, who lacks a majority in parliament, came to power last week after successfully leading a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. The Rajoy government had faced a major political crisis tied to Catalonia's independence movement and a corruption scandal.

For the seven years he was in power, Rajoy, of the Popular Party, kept his Cabinet composition at about a third women. The Cabinet of Socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero hovered near gender parity between 2004 and 2011, while the Cabinet of the Popular Party’s Jose Aznar ranged from 13% to 30% women between 1996 and 2004.

The announcement of the new Cabinet comes as women in Spain are pushing for greater representation in government and an end to gender-based violence. It was formed the same week journalist Soledad Gallego became the first woman to be top editor of El Pais, Spain’s largest circulation daily newspaper.

Journalists, academics and commentators took to social media to express their optimism for the historic Cabinet.

“There is this feeling of almost euphoria, because it’s such a big change from what we had before,” journalist Marilin Gonzalo, who helped lead a movement to protest sexism in Spanish media, said in an interview Thursday.

“AMAZING! WHAT GREAT NEWS!” wrote Spanish author Laura Freixas on Twitter.

“In ten days, we have changed the government. We have women Ministers in positions like Justice, Interior, Economy,” tweeted sociologist Soledad Murillo, who was Spain’s secretary-general of equality and a member of the United Nations’ Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women. “And if that weren’t enough, Sol Gallego is director of El Pais. CONGRATULATIONS to those who have fought to democratize public space, thanks to #feminismo.”

Some, however, warned that the government had yet to prove itself as a champion of women.

“This government, at the moment … has a women majority, there are also ministers who are well-known feminists,” wrote journalist Ana Aguilar on Twitter. “All of this is important and remarkable. But I would not say this government is feminist. It will be if its policies are feminist.”

The Socialist party is generally seen as a defender of women’s rights. In 2004, under Zapatero, the government passed a law protecting victims of sexual and gender-based violence. In 2007, the Zapatero government passed an “Equality Law” requiring political parties to field female candidates in at least 40% of the seats they contest.

Gonzalo, the journalist, said Spain, like many countries, has a culture that favors men.

She pointed to a recent survey about sexual assault that shows 40% of male respondents believe that workplace sexual harassment will stop if women “simply ask.” The survey, created by a state-run delegation on gender-based violence, showed that 34% of male respondents believe women exaggerate the gender-based violence.

Sexual violence has dominated Spanish headlines this year, with a high-profile case alleging an 18-year-old woman was raped by five men at the 2016 running of the bulls festival. In late April, a judge convicted the men of sexually abusing the woman, not raping her, sparking outrage among feminist groups.

While the Socialist government still has to prove its feminism with policy, Gonzalo said, at least the Cabinet is a start.

This has shown a change in society we started to see after [March 8], all the women who are fighting for themselves,” she said. “Especially in places of power.”

I spare you guys the high res photo tour but if your pain threshold is high then go and take a look at the cabal of post-wall harpies and manginas that is looking forward to turning Spain into the Mediterranean version of Sweden.

Over the past two decades Spain has already devolved into a feminist hellhole bent on completely eviscerating whatever remains of the once proud Spanish machismo. But starting this week I expect them to crank things up a notch a two, which will have sweeping implications on the nation's future. And judging by Sweden's grand social experiment, it will fail ignominiously, in the end leaving it up to men to pick up the pieces.

Does the current political climate lend any ammo to the movement against tourism there? Mainly tourists from the UK and Germany? There seems to be a lot of people who hate tourists and tourism itself these days.

I hope I see the coming decades for the EU and UK because this ride will be interesting.

Catalonia has become an SJW hellhole and they want to declare independence (separate thread somewhere on here detailing how hard that would fail). FC Barcelona also forces their players to march out onto the pitch wearing 'Refugees Welcome' t-shirts.
Being a football/FCB fan, I look at Messi and observe that the guy is as conservative as it gets:
From rural Argentina
Married his childhood sweetheart
3 kids
Bigass house and dog
Never a hint of scandal regarding his marriage, he even successfully sued a Spanish tabloid for falsely printing a story about him hitting his wife.

I wonder if he'll ever speak out and tell them to stfu once they start attacking him. This new government is sure to usher in a shitty future for all of Spain.

Spain has always been an easy target for communist thinking - hasn't left frankly. They always go into extremes not being able to find a relaxed balance.

Either full-on cuckoldry under Islam or the Spanish Inquisition and torture under the name of Jesus. Either they are full-on conservative Christians with a totalitarian bent OR they go full retard social justice communism.

Of course the latter is now getting all the help and the women go full feminazi. No surprise that this would happen.

I have no clue about the Spanish mentality ahead of the Islamic invasion but you are right, since the Moors surrendered in 1492 Spain has pushed toward the extremes at almost every opportunity. And don't forget about the rabid fascism of the early 20th century.

I think it may have something to do with the Moorish/Islamic gene pool that clearly was integrated into that of Spain. Of course if you ask the average Spaniards they'll vehemently (and sometimes violently) reject any claims that they share genetic traits with Maghrebis and other North Africans. But heck, just look at them. Spaniards on average are pretty good looking but they could easily pass for Syrians or Iranians if they wanted to.

Despite all of the prevailing machismo Spaniards have no game and are easy meals for ball busting Spanish girls who pretty much all are raised like little Walt Disney princesses. Feminism fell on very fertile ground here in the 1970s and along with Sweden I consider Spain one of the most feminized nations on earth.

It doesn't help that most men deep inside are little momma's boys, living at home until their mid 30s. Oh and they almost all fucking shave their arms and legs, just like Asians. They are vain as hell and you should see the ton of beauty products and creams those guys carry to the gym. I feel like a fag just bringing along a small bottle of Jojoba oil while those guys carry a whole bag full of cremes and gels. And don't get me started on the skin tight gym outfits that seems to be the norm here. In the U.S. you'd get labeled a fag for showing up like that. Here nobody bats an eye.

The all talk a big game but not once have I seen a Spaniard attempt a cold approach on a girl. That's perhaps cultural as well as the courting dynamics are very conservative and regional here.

Anyway, unless Spanish men get organized and start defending their rights and own interests things are probably just going to get worse and worse for them.

Spain has rapidly fallen off a cliff, from one generation to the next. Franco held the pendulum back for so long that once democracy and globalization came in the late 1970s, the shift was hard and fast. Such a shame, my grandparents’ generation are the last true conservative and traditional Spaniards, and needless to say they’re dying off quickly.

Spain is being torn apart from so many directions, it’s not going to last much longer

< Franco only fought back against the communists seizing control in Spain. If he hadn't fought back, then Spain would have become a communist country and that would have been the last election they had until the collapse of the Soviet Union. There have been some communist underpinnings in many other European countries back then, but seldom was there enough support in the population to have a multi-year civil war going on.

The media currently sells the story of how Franco was a dictator and the other side were the "democrats". Those commie dictators sometimes executed priests and behaved like the usual Redcoat Bolsheviks.

I guess the Bolsheviks are back now.

I'm really sorry to hear that and no disrespect to your cultural heritage. I love Spain, the OLD Spain that still peeks out from underneath the globalist/Marxist veneer. The gen-Xers here and anyone older than that are pure salt of the earth people, while not perfect and perhaps a bit xenophobic. But the young ones are cut from a different tree, no fucking respect for anything, big mouth, no ambitions, and no clue. In short Spain, like France, Britain, and Germany, is resting on the laurels of its cultural heritage. Once those have been all used up there won't be anything left.

I came here in the early part of this decade and I'm glad that I did because I still got to experience quite a bit of the old Spain. But it's clearly changing and now that the feministas have taken over, the future looks dim.

Nah, Pedro Sanchez and the PSOE is the same as Rajoy and his PP, Brussels puppets. The PP with a "conservative" thin paint, the PSOW with a "socialist" one, both tools. You must really worry if Podemos and Pablito "Commie Hipster" Iglesias get into power. Then you will see a real Swedistan in Spain.

RE: Spain Elects Feminist Government
as a Spaniard, I can tell you that most people who vote for the PSOE (same for the PP) do it by inertia. The vast majority of them are babyboomers who lived under the dictatorship and they associate the PP as the "bad guys" who loved Franco and the voted the PSOE "to prevent the bad guys from coming back" and of course, because the left protects the workers (according to the spanish mindset). As a result they will never change their mind. In Spain, generally speaking, we have always had to choose between PP and PSOE. Luckily, Spain is not still as " feminist" as other europeans countries. What basically happened is that the PSOE are trying to change their political position as they lost like 40% of their voters since "podemos"( ultra feminist party) appeared and now they are trying to attract young people and get back voters by doing progressive shit

I live in a region where the PSOE has ruled for almost 40 years and I can tell you that most people who vote for them are people from rural areas who lives on welfare/unemployment inasmuch agriculture in Spain is extremely is subsidized and seasonal. These people I would say are more conservative than people from the city who vote for right wing parties because they fit in the "redneck" definition

I know, I saw, I weeped. Checked the news today and most likely they can't make the journey to VLC as it's supposedly to dangerous due to bad weather. (in the summer??) But this gesture sets a precedent and of course that was the intent. I expect NGOs planning new shipping routes from Northern Africa into Southern and Eastern Spain as we speak.

F....ng Sanchez and his cabinet of feministas, they are going to utterly destroy Spain. I mean don't they bloody read the news on what's been happening in France, Britain, and especially Germany? Up there they're finding a murdered teenage girl almost on a daily basis now. Why the f...k would anyone think it's a good idea to import these conditions into one's own country? Either these guys are completely oblivious and naive to the stark realities of the world, or they are sadistic political opportunists.

I can't even express what I'm truly feeling right now as I don't want to be banned or flagged. Apologies for the foul language but I kind of lost it yesterday hearing about this.
