Does anybody have any recent experience or tips on visiting Portugal beach areas, like Algarve?

RE: Porgugal - Algarve
I haven't been for several years but it is a beautiful part of the world and swarmed with tourists in the summer. Years ago I camped out in Lagos for a few days. I remember lots of beautiful, bare breasts on the beach during the day and making out with a pretty, young English girl on holiday. I had absolutely 0 game at the time.

Thanks. I was also there years ago in Lagos and Albufeira. I had a great time. Just wondering what it's like now?

Same thing, hands down Lagos for me though.
The touristic boom in Portugal is more felt in Lisbon and Porto, and other areas where before nobody went, like the Vicentine Coast.

RE: Porgugal - Algarve
Me and my girl visit the nude beaches there.

We were there last year actually.

One nude beach requires you to climb and slide down a mountain to find it and the other is collection of twisting roads and trails, but if you find it, it's a hidden paradise like you've never seen.

I would say Algarve is my favorite place in the world to go if I want to find myself.

I can't speak for the tourist traps because I avoid them.

Portuguese girls are Great?

You are the first guy who has ever stated that here.
Can you tell us more about your experiences with them?

You could be right.

I missed the fact that his screenname suggests he is Australian, I can imagine exotic factor for an Aussie in Portugal is pretty high and helped him with the locals.

Well I am from Australia and yes the women suck here!!!

I just love the mix of women there in Portugal. It all depends on your tastes and what does it for you women wise. Of course there are ugly ones, but tons of cute sexy ones as well. I have been there many times since the late 1990`s and I have enjoyed it and the women each time I have been there. They are friendly and you can have some great times with them.

In terms of people, the Algarve is full of families and couples. The only town really full of actual ladies from Portugal is Faro; the furthest town from the popular one Lagos, and it has no beaches to speak of (Google Image is a lie.)

I'd go to the Algarve if i just wanted to lay on a beach, taking day trips to nearby surfing towns (with cold water).

I don't know what your goal is, but if you want all the same natural beauty, and more, but with warm waters and more beautiful + fun people - check out Mallorca. Amazing towns + villages, great food + architecture, great scenery + wildlife - and there's obviously Magaluf - which has to be literally in the top 10 destinations on earth for getting your dick wet.

Good points. Also Algarve is more expensive than South of Spain nowadays.

Agree on some points, others don't.
There are a couple of party places in Algarve, top of my head being Vilamoura (for portuguese, 90% of the girls only accessible by social circle) and Albufeira/Oura (equal as magaluf, the quality in magaluf probabily is better). Food is way better in Algarve as it is surfing spots. Big plus is the warmer water in Majorca. The water in continental portugal is f*** cold

In the Algarve, Lagos is hard to get to, so it's mostly more backpacker style travelers. Albufeira was more like package tour central, but when I was there, the town was full of drunk Finnish girls every night. I liked the Algarve a lot more than Mallorca, but I guess it depends where you go.

Man I wonder how Lagos is these days......10 years ago was like a secret paradise.
With game and a good wingman you could get laid pretty much every night.

RE: Porgugal - Algarve
I was in the Algarve last month, Praia da Luz to be exact, although spent most of my time in Lagos.

You'll definitely want a car to get around as public transport is pretty shit.

In terms of stuff to do during the day, I'd recommend the beaches surrounding Lagos. Clean, sunny virtually all the time, and a nice breeze so you don't feel the heat. I wouldn't say there were loads of hot girls on the beaches, but there were quite a few dotted around, either in pairs or small groups. I'd also recommend going sea kayaking around the coves, going from Lagos' harbour to Ponta da Piedade, as well as travelling to Sagres to hike around the cliffs and also see both Fortaleza de Sagres and the Lighthouse of Cabo de Sao Vicente.

Unfortunately I only went out twice on my trip as the people I was with weren't too outgoing. The first night we went out in Portimao - there's a main strip of bars and clubs along Av. Tomas Cabreira. The best club I'd say is Katedral, although it doesn't get busy till around ~1am, so probably best to hit some of the bars and find a group before going in. I don't actually remember much else from that night as I got absolutely plastered at dinner. That being said, it's incredibly easy to find hashish along that strip, if you're into that sort of thing. Just keep in mind that convenience stores close relatively early, so if you need tobacco/skins/lighter (I was incredibly unprepared) the only nearby option late at night is the Hotel Algarve Casino, which is a 5-min walk away.

For the second night, we went out in Lagos. We ended up going to Joe's Garage, an Aussie-themed bar, and stayed there till closing. The bar is pretty quirky - they have a deal whereby you pay something like €3 to roll dice, and you win either a shot or, if you're unlucky, a pint of Super Bock (for the Portuguese on here, I'm sorry, but your beer is absolutely foul) depending on what number you score. Pretty good way to break the ice with a girl. Speaking of which, the ratio in this bar was incredible, something like 60:40 women to men. Obviously this was only on one night so take it with a pinch of salt, but either way, it shocked me as I'm used to the cockfest that is UK nightlife.

Hope that's helpful.

RE: Porgugal - Algarve
I stayed in a villa via Airbnb. Not sure if you'll be able to find a decent one now but, if you can, that's what I'd recommend. Most villas that I looked at had their own private pool and a good view out to sea. Having said that i'm quite biased as I don't really like staying in hotels, much prefer to have my own space.

Here's the villa I stayed in just to give you an idea: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/34968253?...s=c-SWF4RN
