If the difference between getting married or not, is a large, juvenile, princess day or not.
Don't really see the point in getting married. Red flag...
The wife to be should be looking forward to the marriage. Not the princess day. The princess day should be a mere formality.

Other than the honeymoon of course. Cool

I'd wager that this is a fake article created to elicit outrage/annoyance, and thus to generate shares and clicks for the site that posted it. If you go to the actual article (whoops, just gave them a free page view), the article is peppered with links that go to wedding tips on that website. I really want to believe that this kind of insanity wouldn't have made it past the "Jesus Christ, Susan, are you serious? No, we aren't going to ask people to pay to come to the wedding, you dunce" stage.

But then again, it's 2018. Nothing surprises me anymore

One member of my family got married in a big yard of a family member. Great wedding love the guy she married, great dude they are expecting another kid soon.

Another married some rich guy in a wedding that was at least a million dollars. They are divorced after a year or two no kids.

I don't even get the point of a wedding other then to celebrate the moment with close friends and family. Its one thing to drop a few G's on a party where you and your close friends can have a memorable night or two, but 99% of weddings are for show.

How much say does a man get in any of the aspects of the wedding? I know most of us on here would put our foot down to the stupid shit but really? There are very few things a man gets to choose about a wedding yet most of the time he has to foot the bill.

Yes you do, the bare minimum for it to not be considered rude is enough to pay for your catered food/drinks, or give a gift of that value.

If you cant, dont go.

Traditionally the bride’s father pays the bill and the bridegroom just needed to turn up. That was the best restraint to the self indulgent princess day.

Don't spend all your energy on sex and all your money on women; they have destroyed kings. (Proverbs 31:3 GNB)

I'll repeat my constant refrain: never, ever, ever get "down on your knee" to propose marriage. By doing so, you are automatically handing her a whip to pussy whip you with.

If you decline to get down on your knee, and just ask her in a simple way, then you watch her reaction. If she is delighted and overwhelmed and sweet and says "yes, of course any time" -- then you know she's not getting married just to indulge herself.

If you decline to get on your knee, and she seems upset or pissy about it, hey, you know that you fucked up. You still have time to say "sorry changed my mind" and dump her.

Same with the ring. NEVER give her a nice ring. Just twist some tie-wraps together into a ring shape. Or weave the ring out of some wildflowers. Don't have a ring at all.

If she cares AT ALL about the size or value of the ring DUMP HER SHE'S AN IDIOT. Just think about it. She's getting your income for the rest of her life. She's getting many millions of dollars from you, most likely. You are the single best investment she will ever make, in her entire life. The ring is a nice symbol but what matters is YOU. That's how she should think if she's a smart woman.

Also, if you care about the size the ring, or feel obligated to buy an expensive one, that is a surefire indicator you are messed up in the head and should not get married.

I like it how she ends that she will relax from all of this negativity by going on a dick-hopping-safari in South Africa. Well - at least some men will get something out of that insane woman.

This entitlement of modern women in their unrestrained way is getting noticed:

We badly need the patriarchy back.

That could be her:

Obviously no hottie.

There have been some mainstream articles out on that.

I think it's a culture thing. From the part of the world where i come, it'd be crazy to ask guests for money. I can't even imagine it happening. The ones who contribute to the wedding are the guy, the bride and the very close families (parents/siblings).

Weddings are extortion rackets anyway. Can't blame her for going full on.

RE: Woman tries to charge her wedding guests 1500$can to pay for her dream wedding
The paradox in this case is that the woman and her friends/family were working/lower middle class. 1.500$ per person plus a 60.000$ wedding is no issue in certain circles. But it's no issue in circles where they would not give cash on that level anyway.

There are some countries where cash donations are normal anyway.

Though this goes way beyond that - and most people would have preferred to give 1500$/person for a downpayment of a new house of the couple. That would have made more sense to all the working Joes and Janes rather than splash it on a ceremony for a bride's ego.

She certainly was insufferable all around while this happened, so burned a lot of bridges as well.

In the past women used to marry in their Sunday gown with no ring and expensive wedding involved. The ones who could afford it of course did it, but they were paltry few. Now the bitch said it how it is - she wants to feel like a princess for a day. Well - maybe the husband would like to feel like Dan Bilzarian for a day and should hire 30 high-class hookers for one giant orgy for 60.000$. He is asking his friends and family to make his male dream of a bachelor party come true!

RE: Woman tries to charge her wedding guests 1500$can to pay for her dream wedding
Via "'Our request was not f***ing out of the ordinary': Bridezilla who asked guests to pay $1,200 to attend her wedding calls it off and breaks up with her fiancé when they refuse to cough up", the paper added this part at the bottom of the article:
Quote:Update: The person who originally shared Susan's status on a 'wedding shaming' Facebook group claiming to be her cousin later shared an update with more details about the bridezilla

In a turn of events, someone claiming to be Susan's cousin said the Facebook status was only up for 15 minutes before it was deleted, even speculating that the angry bride had been 'drinking while writing' it. However the woman, who originally posted Susan's status in a wedding shaming group on Facebook, said that the outburst came as a shock to even those who know Susan best.

Insisting first that Susan is certainly 'a living breathing human being', the poster revealed that she 'sadly shares a small percentage of DNA' with her, before expressing her relief that she 'doesn't have to see her more than once a year'. However, despite the cousin's feelings about her relative, she notes that nothing could have prepared Susan's family for what was to come.

'Clearly she has entitlement issues, but I have never known her to be this obnoxious. Honestly, over the years she's been nice and overall sweet. No red flags come to mind,' the cousin said.

'She has humble beginnings and has been working on her parents farm since she was young. You really wouldn't expect someone from an agricultural background to value Kardashian style materialism, but hey? I guess she's an outlier!'

The cousin went on to say that she believes Susan needs to take time to 'evaluate herself and her life', adding that she 'hopes for her healing and recovery because she wasn't raised to be like this'. However, the cousin does not believe that this period of self-reflection will take place in South America as Susan suggested.

'On a final note, I understand everyone's valid concern about her leaving her son for two months to go backpacking,' the cousin wrote. 'However nobody believes she's actually going to South America. This woman has never been outside the US.

'We all think she's saying that to be dramatic. I also have a feeling she may have been drinking while writing this status, it's especially vulgar and incredibly embarrassing. It was only up for maybe 15 minutes before she took it down.'

To all the people saying "I'd never give cash at a wedding", isn't it easier to give an envelope, card w/ enough cash to cover your plate (typically like $100 per person) than to go shopping and pick out a gift? And yeah, this woman is insane for feeling entitled to that kind of wedding.

I could believe that, but then I have seen weddings where the couples release a list of items you must buy them and nothing else unless it is a cash gift.

My answer to that is they can fuck right off. To fill their house with materialistic goods just to see them divorce not long after should red pill many people but they still come out with buy lists.

Tell em you'll give them 100 now OR 10,000 if they're still together in 10 years.

If you really want them to last then you win either way, and frankly the reaction of the woman would be telling.

God demands of Man responsibility. God demands of Woman vulnerability. These are their curse and blessing alike. Libertianism is to Man as Feminism is to Woman.

Declyn - because it has to be one of those strange made up celebrity names for their special brood.

And of course she used a local psychic, because who wants to outsource it to a cheaper online psychic?

I think that the broad made decisions based on what some celebs are doing or are supposedly doing.
