I wasn't sure the correct answer, but told him it's probably a good idea considering that gun confiscation is the next step after the abolishment of the 2A. Do you guys think it's worth the risk?

Your friend has at least one friend who asks strangers on an open internet forum whether he should break gun laws or not, so I would suggest "no", your friend's OPSEC is not adequate to skirt registration.

Corollary: if the 2A is gone and a nationwide gun theft occurs, the goon squad may have high powered rifles but most of them are going to be made up of diversity hires and liberal traitors or guys who don't have the stomach to say no to an evil order and face the consequences. Knowing this, you know the enemy's forces are either a) incompetent, b) brainwashed, c) inexperienced or d) all of the above.

So when they come to 'get' you, yeah, they'll get some, but also will be 'got' by quite a few, and there will be a lot of stalemates, advances, retreats, etc etc. You don't need a gun to take down a well-armed squad of troops if you can use your brain, one thing the left and the NWO underestimates in many men. I see this devolving into petty skirmishes and civil war without end, like most periods of intense strife throughout history. Thus is life.

It's stupid to gamble on breaking the law on the assumption that when confiscations take place full fledged civil war will break out. Why? Because confiscations are already taking place everyday, right now.

Who's to say in a year the guy who sold you the gun isn't nabbed on petty charges for cocaine possession and decides to feed them your details in exchange for skating on the drug charge?

Everyone likes to think in broad, historical strokes but day to day reality is a far cry from that. A lot can happen between now and chaos. Besides, even the most restrictive states allow access to firearms that nobody is going to be interested in standing in front of. Move to freedom states or stay put and obey the law. The risk/reward analysis for making yourself a nice cherry target for the ATF is not worth it. You're better off becoming highly proficient with lawfully owned guns than putting an invisible target on your back to own guns you have to hide and can never train with. I'd be more afraid of an SF machine with a 10/22 than I would be of some guy who's AR15 still has the price tag on it.

This last stand confiscation bullshit will never happen.

The way it will work is that they’ll set up a national website and say “You need to have your local Police Chief validate you own no weapons. Once this is done he will issue you a code that you use to ensure compliance. Failure to do so will result in all your financial assets being frozen until you comply”.

It will all be done electronically with failure to go along meaning you get cut out of the system entirely, which will force you to comply unless you’re living a hobo/Amish lifestyle. That won’t bother them because then you’ll have no communication and can be picked off individually.

RE: The RVF worst-case-scenario survival/preparedness thread.
So today we had a service outage for various broadband services. As per lifehacker.

Quote:Telstra and Commonwealth Bank are both experiencing major issues across the country right now. A spate of other online services have also been affected, ranging from ANZ banking to XBox Live. Here are the details.
Customers in multiple states and territories are reporting connectivity issues with Australia's largest telco and bank. It is not known whether the problems are related or an unfortunate coincidence. (Telstra's 3G network may be responsible but this is currently unconfirmed.)

Affected services include phone, internet, ATMs and all EFTPOS machines.

According to Down Detector, the issues began around 2:30pm AEST and are hampering a bunch of services from Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Telstra, NAB, Westpac, St George and Xbox. (When it rains, it pours.)

There were a lot of people that didn't carry cash who were stuck in place for want of being able to do something as simple as put petrol in their car. So lesson one is "always carry cash".

A deeper analysis reminded me of something I hadn't considered in a while. I did a quick search for "telstra service outage" in google news and got tons of hits. I did another for "telstra service outage cyber attack" and apparently not a single media outlet is willing to utter that dreaded possibility. At first I blamed google but duckduckgo found nothing either.

Yet that specter is a real possibility. It doesn't take a meteor or a solar flare or world war 3 to ruin your day/week/month/year. Cyberwarfare can collapse economies and near-instantly rob us of anything with so much as a wifi-chip in it. There could come a time that even if you carry cash you still won't be able to buy anything that's not sold without running it by a computerized register first.

As usual the lesson here is to always have enough petrol to get home (even if you have to take the scenic route) and once home have enough supplies to wait out the problem.

Lesson three is to be thankful that you get lessons before the actual test.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.
