RE: Trouble Sleeping
so you basically stare at the light for 15 minutes when you wake up?

whats interesting here is that like you said i've been a life long night owl who basically cant go to bed at 11 w/o a lot of ambien or 12 hours of drinking. there is one exception to this - when i spend a day outside skiing i can go to bed at like 9 or 10 pm - in fact i have trouble staying awake past 9 or 10 pm - and sleep easily thru the night and wake up at 6 or 7 feeling awesome. i guess part of this is because skiing is physical and wares you out, but its not like thats the only time i work out - i'm very active and that usually has no effect. so i'm guessing in some way that being outside on a ski slope on a sunny day where the light reflects off the snow must produce so much light that it cranks up the sleep producing gland to where it actually does something.

RE: Trouble Sleeping
I just tried the "stare outside at the light for 5 minutes" technique and it totally worked!

HOwever, my main problem was getting to sleep in the first place. I've tried xanax and melatonin and neither did crap.

Simply Sleep/Tylenol PM is more effective than most scrip sleep aids, and not addictive. I also find valerian root capsules (find them at any drug store or GNC) is a great relaxer taken an hour before bed, and it is pretty cheap. All jokes aside, sex is the best natural sleep aid.
