I have no have used the site successfully in over 20 different countries

The site seems like a way to make some change. Have you managed to get tours from free?
I imagine the guys who give tours for free are getting the most contacts here?

The place you are going to choose is really important.

Some places don't have the social vibe which will make you in the relaxed state required to successfully meet people.

Other places do have it.

I would definititely avoid the "cold part of Europe" for your purpose.

RE: Early 30s losing friends and going Solo abroad
I've always equated the ability to going solo to things like
1) The first day of school (any year or grade level) .... did you make a social circle buy the end of year?
2) a new job

Whats the urge you have to take that step open your mouth and say Hello
This urge to say HELLO is usually non existent in familiar confines where your social circle is old established and predictable and shrinking

Moving from ones own country city to city is a good test if a guy can go solo
and create a new social circle because moving to another city is usually with intention to stay long term
Yes I agree that " a bartender" may be the only bet for a guy with one week on the ground in any country
My suggestion is to first explore a lot of countries solo for short stays
Find the one country you like and slowly extend the time in it

When you start thinking "yes" this countries is for me and I want to develop roots/social circle.... this is where the urge to open up to people comes from and say HELLO

............LIFE isn't a DRESS REHEARSAL.........

It's really easy to travel solo OP

Choose any country

Go to a decent hostel in a good location (usually in the center)

The hostel must have a good kitchen and a common area or dinning area with a good sitting round table

Go make dinner in the evening, and start the "where are you from conversation" with people you're interested in

Rinse repeat

This is just one example off the top of my head

It's really easy to meet people, you just gotta be open to it and be genuinely interested in their lives

Tinder is also very useful

Yeah when you hit 30 you lose a lot of friends, but then you gotta keep making new friends everyday, so I guess balances out in the end

PS: sometimes traveling I deliberately choose a hostel at the beginning of the trip so as to meet people in the city before spinning off into Airbnb/hotel for more comfort

I just came back from a trip from Warsaw/Prague/Budapest and in these cities the few nights I tried to stay in the hostel before Airbnb I always met people who wanted to hangout, talk, grab a drink, chase tail etc

Not impossible to travel solo

Do you have a ranking of regions, Rif? Thanks.

Travelling is almost like starting high school or whatever. Most people dont have any friends when they are abroad so a lot of them are pretty desperate to make them. If you really want to make friends, I would say its super easy.

Hostels or co-working spaces are a good spot if you are worried. Personally I always winged it, and I dont really like forcing making friends. I feel like you meet higher quality people if you dont push it.
