fun website to follow, Yang's odds on betting websites are improving. Earlier today, Ladbrokes had him at 67 to 1, now it's 50 to 1.

He's in 6th place for Dems, 0.1% behind Warren. Then it's just Beto, Biden, Sanders and Harris.

Yep.
Plus, entertainment happening right now.
Even South Park with their very best efforts may be ~48 hours after the fact.
Let alone at least 48 weeks after the fact for a Hollowood TV show or movie.

RE: The Andrew Yang thread
It seems Aaron Clarey's Enjoy the Decline book was simply a few years before it's time in the 'sphere.

In it he prescribes living off benefits and part-time work as the solutions to enjoy your free time and accept that there is nothing you can do about the political devolution of the country.

From the preface - notice just how easily you can swap out "election of 2012" with the ongoing events happening:
Quote:With the election of 2012 the American people have made it very clear which path they wish to take the United States down – socialism.  Whether cognizant of this fact or completely ignorant about it, it doesn’t matter, people voted the way they did.  They could still be fawning over President Obama like a teenage girl or Chris Matthews.  They could be the typical voter who votes for socialism because it sounds “nice.”  They could be the galactically ignorant soccer mom who believes no amount of other people’s money is too good for her children.  Or they could be fully informed socialists knowing damn well what they’re doing confiscating other people’s money.  The reason why doesn’t matter, all that matters “is what is.”

Of course “is what is” is a devastating blow to lot of conservatives, libertarians, freedom-lovers and what I henceforth refer to as “Real Americans.”  Not just because politically or ideologically “our team lost,” but because our entire lives and all of our futures are now in question.

Understand that you, me and everybody else who loved America, believed in America, and loves freedom grew up under some basic assumptions.   And not only did we grow up under these basic assumptions, we based our lives and our decisions around these premises.  We assumed the United States would continue to be the freest country in the world.  We assumed we would be able to keep the lion’s share of our income and wealth.  We assumed hard work, innovation, and efficiency would be rewarded.  We assumed if we worked hard at something our dreams could be realized.  In short it was all that made America not just great, but the most successful country in the history of the world and we poured our hearts and souls into these beliefs.

Unfortunately, with these basic premises no longer certain all of the work, effort and time we put into our lives, and therefore our futures, are also no longer certain.  Did you attend college to become a doctor?  Well too bad, you may have wage controls with Obamacare.  Did you work hard to become an engineer and create something?  Too bad, we may have to confiscate your income at a 60% level.  Did you have dreams of starting up a motorcycle shop?  Too bad we’re going to regulate and tax it out of existence.  Were you planning on marrying a nice girl?  Too bad, feminism has destroyed the quality of women.  Did you want to have children? Too bad the state will raise your children.  Did you want your children to have a better life than you?  Too bad, your generational peers voted to mortgage your children into financial slavery.  Say, nice sizeable 401k plan you have there!  Too bad, we’re going to nationalize it just like Argentina did.

The end result is EXTRAORDINARILY depressing.  Not only is it increasingly likely you’ve lived your life in vain, but you’ve lived a significant percentage of your life in slavery.  Worse still any dreams you had are becoming rapidly impossible.  And even worse than that is without your dreams there’s nothing you can uniquely achieve that would define you.

In short your life has no meaning.

This epiphany, whether consciously realized or not, obviously takes a devastating toll on all Real Americans.  Anecdotal though it may be, everyone I personally know is more depressed today than they were a decade ago.  I know more than one rugged individualist contemplating suicide.  And there’s no shortage of old men I know who MEAN IT when they say,

“Thank god I’m not going to be around to see this country collapse!”

The entire population of Real Americans is defeated emotionally, psychologically and spiritually.  With no purpose or future they are simply asking “Why go on?  Why continue?  Why did I work so hard?  What is left to live for?”

But dire as the situation may be, there is some hope.  Genuine hope, not the hope that is found in presidential speeches and pablum.  Hope that is practical, real, and will yield results.  However, this hope comes from the only place real hope can come from – within – which means we have to focus on ourselves and what is within our control to realize this hope and capitalize on it.  This isn’t to say that the world will turn out all roses and dachshunds, nor is it going to be the “faux depressing type of hope” akin to when your mother would say,

“Well at least you aren’t a cancerous, Ebola-infected, starving, blind quadriplegic, leper living in war-torn Ethiopia with lice!”

But at minimum this book will show you there is a future, you can live a happy life, the left will get their comeuppance, and no matter how bad it gets, there is always a way to “Enjoy the Decline.”

I'm not entirely convinced about UBI yet but I don't know of another solution to the ongoing automation era (except maybe Elon Musk's mind implant idea, which is not developing nearly as quickly as enterprise automation). After seeing the AI advancements in the past few years I think people are going to be unpleasantly surprised at how quickly they are displaced from their jobs.

Some of the most popular professions in the US are for cashiers, office clerks, food prep, customer service and transportation - all jobs which could be feasibly automated within the next decade to at least 50% reductions. What are we going to do with these tens of millions of people without a job? Riots and increased crime are inevitable if nothing is done to support these defunct workers.

#YangGang Exposed: Insider Claims 2020 Hopeful Andrew Yang Is Paying Groups Of Online “Meme Operators” To Influence Future Voters
BY CLOVERCHRONICLE ON MARCH 9, 2019

Quote:A source close to 2020 presidential hopeful Andrew Yang recently revealed he is allegedly using viral memes and hashtags to catapult himself into the political spotlight – and it seems to be working.

The insider posted the following message on an anonymous image board:

Quote:Do you know why Andrew Yang is gaining traction? I’ll tell you: it’s because he sat back and watched the magical effect of memes during the 2016 presidential election.

Andrew saw how you /pol/sters and others basically pumped out never-ending memes to help propel Trump into the White House. Now, he wants a piece of that magical ‘meme pie’, per se.

Weeks before he announced his 2020 presidential run, Andrew spent some of his own fortune on ensuring he has a dog in the so-called upcoming ‘meme war’ by hiring ‘meme agitators’ from various groups to engage in information warfare online. That is why we are seeing #YangGang trending, as well as countless memes being created and posted on social media.

It’s working. Prominent right wing reporters (ex. Cassandra F.) are becoming confused because Andrew has convinced them, through memes, that he holds the same values as them. Additionally, he’s using ‘meme language’ to communicate with them.

Here’s an example from Reddit:

Q: The current White House is missing a dog. If elected, will you bring a dog back to the White House?

A: I will bring 1,000 different dogs to the White House every given month. It will be called the Canine Dividend. It will bring about a new era of abundance of fur and smiles and good boys. ?

How can Trump even compete with this? It’s on a whole new level.

Before you discount my claims of Andrew Yang’s political savviness, I’d like to just take a moment to say that, yes, I was on Andrew’s ‘meme team’. Even though I have been an avid Trump supporter for the past 3+ years, the money he offered was enticing. I simply could not resist.

They continued:

Quote:The ‘meme team’ operates on Discord, Reddit, Voat, Twitter and other platforms. There are probably close to 100 ‘operators’ spending hours each day creating and spreading memes online.

You might be asking why I’m revealing this information. Don’t worry, I’ll tell you.

After a few months of being a part of Andrew’s online propaganda team, I realized how dangerous it was. Think about it: a group of people being PAID to influence American politics through dank memes. I mean, you guys do it for free, right? What if you were PAID big bucks to do it?!!

So, I am here to warn you about Andrew Yang’s ‘meme operators’ and how they will pose a grave threat to Donald Trump’s reelection in 2020.

UPDATE #1: The #YangGang insider has so far made three additional replies in the thread.

One user asked the following:

Quote:“Question for you is can you please give us a link to their discord?”

The source responded with:

Quote:“Sorry, but that might compromise my identity.”

Another user:

Quote:“How much do they pay you OP? It’s pretty obvious yang is a forced meme [and] everyone can tell. Pretty embarrassing honestly.”

Answer:

Quote:“We get paid about $40/hr. It’s pretty worth it for most people considering their background.”

And finally, we asked the insider if they could provide additional intel:

Quote:“Can you share any other information? Are the meme operators you mentioned solely based in the US? Any located in foreign countries (like China, Russia, etc)? That would be pretty damning info.”
Their response:

Quote:“I’d rather not share more information. Even though I’m not employed by Yang anymore, I did have to sign non disclosure paperwork. Rumors say he has close ties to the Triad organization. Don’t want to get mixed up with those folks.”

Interesting…

Actually, you're off, America for the last several decades hasn't been about production, but about outsourcing and gutting the industrial heartland, about scrapping healthy manufacturing operations in LBO schemes pioneered by the likes of Romney's Bain Capital and KKR, destroying the industrial base for profit.

The US is pretty unique in that way, other leading industrial powers like Japan, Germany or Korea don't have this kind of imbalance. The UK and France have fallen in the same trap, the former because of the disproportionate influence of the City over the country, and the latter because the country has been raped by globalists and the EU.

In the US, Wall Street has chosen capital over labor since the 1970s, generating profits at the micro level while destroying the macroeconomy and the livelihood of the middle class. Taxing capital is one way to tip the balance towards labor.

UBI as well is an out of the box scheme, an effective way to reverse that imbalance and to rebuild the economy from the ground up.

RE: The Andrew Yang thread
Capitalists and anti-oligarchs are flat out talking over each other's heads.

Some guy with a million bucks who wants to open a tire-and-wheel alignment joint is a capitalist.

Some guy with 100 million bucks who has every local official in his pocket and collapses entire neighborhoods with drugs and guns to buy up the properties at pennies on the dollar is an oligarch.

I've got nothing but love for the first guy.

The second guy can be taxed back down to harmlessness, and if he wan't to fuck off to some other "capitalist" nation then fine, just prohibit him from "investing" in those lower class neighborhoods thank you very much.

Don't go in for the Conservative scare tactics. There's a huge difference between guys opening local businesses and small franchises vs the elite vampire parasites capable-of and willing-to burn the whole fucking world for a dollar of net-profit.

The people of our various nations are going to have to learn the difference if they want to provide for their future prosperity, and on-off thinking to the tune of "capitalism good, socialism bad" is precisely the kind of kneejerk automaton ideology many of us have been programmed to respond with.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

It's a simple and efficient method of taxing those who primarily live of investments, while at the same time removing short term speculation.

Then businesses and individuals move their money to other markets. Then companies no longer have access to capital so they have problems remaining solvent or growing. It seems people will never learn. You can't tax productive people and expert prosperity. Too bad people will have to learn the hard way.

No they don't cause they're not allowed to.

Move your business and you can't sell to that country. That was in fact what Trump was running on.

The first step to empowering workers is to stop borderless corporations.

Voxday did a darkstream on Corporations:

The corporation as defined by the legal system as a creation of government should be abolished. Since it cannot be held accountable for anything.

Restoring the previous status quo prior to the legal establishment of corporations.

NO. You still don't get it. There can be production without consumption. There cannot be consumption without production. If i produce food and You don't buy it. I still have the food. If you want to consume food without it being produced You can't. One is dependent on the other. Of course it's more complex than that but in the simplest terms Production comes first.

I'm not conditioned to accept anything. You've just bought into stupid socialist dogma that we KNOW fails. That's whats baffling to me. People know this thing fails but everyone has gotten so angry and jealous and butthurt that they are willing to destroy themselves because the THINK the evil corporatists will be destroyed. The world is big my friend. Corporate taxes in america are higher than most other comparable countries. They need to be lower NOT higher. The reason is simple. Corporations can be set up anywhere. So its' better to have a little of something rather than a lot of nothing. It feels like all the people calling for the heads of the "evil capitalists" played too much Age of empires of civilization or something and got up with a god complex wanting to control everyone.

You've identified legitime concerns that I agree with. Your solutions is far off base. We've seen UBI in action. IT FAILED. I don't know whats happening on the right. Everyone seems to be infected with the socialism disease and are quickly becoming unhinged like the left. Taxing capital only forces capital to go somewhere else. That's what taxing people does. Its crazy that people see the middle class fleeing california and New york being one step from bankrupt because of high taxes and then those same people are like... I know... MORE TAXES. Didn't you just watch it fail? Taxes arent the solution to a spending problem. People have become so indoctrinated that they see themselves as children who the government should take care of. Only way to stop is is to slowly destroy the welfare state.

Nah, we don't like socialism. However, if our country is going to collapse anyway, we may as well enjoy the decline.

That $1000/month can be used also to prepare for what comes after the collapse.

Production and consumption are interdependent. If you produce a commercially significant amount of food that no one buys, you will at best waste money, and at worst go bankrupt - preventing you from producing any more food.

This raises an issue about the supposed threat of automation. If companies fully automate their workforces such that the majority of the population no longer has a job and therefore has no disposable income to purchase products, to whom are these companies going to sell their products? In the short term they could sell overseas, but eventually those market places will automate as well (unless those countries with less love for the free market simply ban automation).

Surely the small number of tech employees and trust fund children with cash to spare would not be enough to sustain the demand needed to keep most of these automated companies in business.

On a serious note, do you know why I can be certain that Yang is not paying for it?

Those memes are actually funny.

On the other hand, Hillary spent millions on her "meme team" and you could easily see that they were paid for by Hillary because they were all completely unfunny at best and tremendously autistic at worst.

You can't buy humor.

Automation = less jobs.
Breeding = more people.
Immigration = more people.

What is your solution?

God help you if it involves tired conservative bullshit about "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps" or "give the corporations whatever they want so they choose my country as their center-of-global-rape-operations".

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

It is also anti-war.

"The American people, we need to reduce your Freedom dividend to fight the next war for Israel our security."

Good luck getting UBI recipients to go for that. Once the UBI is distributed, any reduction could trigger massive social unrest or a lot of dead politicians.
