Montreal vs California
I have been living in Toronto suburbs for almost five years now and tired of the city.

I am told I look bit hispanic, my background is Indian, am a private pilot, work in senior management in aviation industry ,have lived in four countries and visited two dozens. Not exactly FOB.

I have seen few jobs in Montreal that I qualify for that are outside my current company.Have heard Montreal way of dating and night life is for fun than Toronto.

My current employer is based in California, I might be able to get a job there.

From a dating perspective..is Montreal better than California

May I ask where in California? The answer to your question will differ significantly depending on where you go.

RE: Montreal vs California
I've been to both and can tell you Montreal is a whole different planet than California. It's like comparing Venus with Mars. There's the French language barrier to deal with and Canada just doesn't have the same political spectrum as the USA. Liberal here does not mean the same thing as liberal in the US. Then there's the weather (tons of snow), food differences (poutine) and sky high taxes of Montreal.

If I had to pick one over the other I'd say Montreal offers the best bang for the buck (if you can deal with shoveling snow 4 months out of the year).

The male suicide rate in Montreal is also quite high, but so is California's.

California..somewhere near Irvine. Curious if dating life for hispanic looking male(not hispanic though)..has potential.

I live in Toronto..so familiar with snow. Its known as worst city for single males.

I would pick Montreal, ever since I first visited it, I have been going back occasionally, wishing I would live there. Never been to California though. Beautiful women and many activities in summer and winter, ideal for you to meet women. Some people would say that the winter sucks, but I visited in both summer and winter and the winter seemed as fun and vibrant (maybe due to the winter fests that were going on at the time). Learning french is helpful especially when applying for higher paying jobs, hopefully you are at least conversant or it's not a major requirement in the companies you are looking at.

RE: Montreal vs California
I was in Montreal two weeks ago and Long Beach CA two years ago.

Would pick Montreal over Long Beach or LA any day.

But Caveat, my visit to Montreal was in the summer, so i guess it will be completely different in the winter.

Montreal is cheap, the food is good, quite multicutural, the city is walkable, the people are not vapid.

You can literally spend the whole day on a rooftop just watching the Mont Royal, and i think if you're into hiking and all kinds of sporting activity, it's all not far from you.

Lots of Universites in the Montreal city center so lots of young people walking about making for a vibrant atmosphere

Montreal also has a lot of culture and lots of things to do (bars, resturants, museums, festivals etc), i think it's a city that mixes the good parts of American style capitalism and the French style socialism/ art de vivre in a very subtle way

Another caveat, this would help a lot with social interactions if you speak french but i didn't think it was impossible to live in Montreal speaking only English.

Montreal is not so far from new york also maybe 1-2 hr flight and the north east area of the US

I just felt LA is too vapid and too expensive, not so bad place LA and surrounding cities, but compared to Montreal in terms of quality of Life, Montreal is better.

But i guess if you want to make more money or you're in the movies, LA is where you should go
