The way the characters and the situation is built up and then drops into absolute chaos once the operation commences and they start taking losses as a prelude to completely losing control of the entire situation... masterclass.

We're introduced to guys from all walks of life, some are teenagers, some have never seen combat before, some are veterans and have to keep their composure in order to lead and keep the younger less-experienced guys from losing it.
They're all well aware that they're in a totally desperate situation - taking losses, getting shell-shocked, but continuing to fight through it all and never compromising their vow: leave no man behind.

It's an excellent movie and one of the best war movies of all time at least in terms of combat depiction, but it's hardly men fighting the system, but the system using the men for the usual goals.

300 to an extent.
Definitely a cadre of men, although less opposing a system & more opposing an external evil empire.

Ultramarines (WH40K).
Once again a cadre of men going up against an external evil.

Outpost (2008).
Less about going against a system, yet definitely a cadre of men. Don't recall a single female in the main cast or even support cast.

At a stretch... The original Russian Stalker movie.
Yet my god that is one slow, dull film...

John Carpenters The Thing to an extent.
Although, once again. Less about going up against a system & more a cadre of men.

One movie that may seem ridiculous but is actually about four men fighting against their city's corrupt/indifferent elites is Ghostbusters:

Another good movie this reminds me of is Animal House. It about a lot of down on their luck college fraternity guys who had enough dealing with all the a-hole system superiors (the dean, ROTC guy) on campus and come up with a good action plan to take "the system" on. It's a classic funny story from the bottom to the top.

Strike Back, specifically the very first season with Richard Armitage ("Strike Back Origins" in the US) and the next 4 seasons (first 4 that were released in the US) with the classic cast. Alpha males fighting terrorists and the deep state. There are some empowered female characters but nothing too outlandish in those seasons. Plus it's just a damn entertaining show.

I wouldn't really recommend the two most recent seasons with a new cast, they're OK from an entertainment standpoint but have gone way over the top with the feminist empowerment, frequently emasculate the two main male characters, and brought in a Mary Sue character. And of course it turns out they were directed by a tranny.

24 is another one.

John Boorman's Excalibur (1981) was a nice example of a heroic cadre of men. We see a faithful re-telling of the King Arthur story. It's also absent of any PC alterations: i.e. turning Lancelot into a post-op tranny, etc.

RIP Nigel Terry.
