Travel question
I am looking to go to these countries for roughly this period of time, roughly how much money in cash should I have for these countries, assuming I am in the capital and the money is for everything except the room.

Ukraine 6 weeks
Belarus 5 days
Lithuania 5 days
Estonia 5 days
Latvia 5 days
Russia 4 weeks
Japan 1 week
Thailand 1 week
Vietnam 1 week
Australia 1 week
Brazil 2 week
Argentina 2 weeks
Columbia 2 weeks

Context
Usually when I travel I bring a small amount in cash which I use to exchange at the airport for local currency to take the bus. The rest of the money I go to an atm and try to do one large withdrawal or get as close to the target amount as I can in as few withdrawals as possible. I have a no foreign translation fee credit card, but the exchange rates fluctuates a lot and with not knowing how much it could fluctuate ( IE Ukraine was at 24 UAH/USD last week and is currently 24.8 USD/UAH) I would rather just have one amount and not take the chance.

Thanks

RE: Travel question
Depends. What do you want to do, what kind of room do you want, how much do you drink, are you eating out, do you take taxis, etc.

First off, one week in Tokyo isn't enough, much less Japan proper. That said, if you sleep in a capsule hotel or a hostel, eat at 7/11 or Matsuya, avoid taxis, don't drink, and spend your time in museums or cultural sites, 50-70 US is enough. 70US won't even get you in the door of a real hotel though. Just as an example.

RE: Travel question
I would probably have a beer or two a couple times a week, but for the most part, eating, some simple sight seeing and maybe some dating if i meet someone I am interested in. Pretty much a middle class tourist. I would already have the hotel/Air bnb already booked, so the cash is for everything else.

RE: Travel question
Japan and Thailand are the only two I've been to. Both are heavy cash societies, btw. As modern as Japan is, 98% of the time, you're expected to put yen in the tray by the till. Don't hand people money there. Put it in the tray. It's safe enough that carrying 100k yen isn't a safety hazard because they all do it.

Anyway, if your room is already paid for and we're just talking walking money, 40ish US is enough for a man of simple tastes. 20-40 in Thailand will let you eat pretty well and you can pay for some tours. But I'll also say, one week in Thailand is criminally inadequate, and it's really inadequate if you stay in Bangkok the whole time. Bangkok is like hell. The islands or the north is way better.

RE: Travel question
Whats the point of your travel? Are you just looking to visit each place or are you trying to meet girls?

This type of travel seems so rushed to me, why not just pick EE, SEA, or SA and just spend like a month or two there?

You would spend much less money once you get setup and have an idea of the cities your in...

RE: Travel question
My top priority is just traveling, meeting women is more of if it happens, it happens. The countries I am staying in long term are ones I have a deep interest in, while others are so I’m told. If I enjoy my week there (usually i can get a feel of the place after a few days) I might spend a longer amount of time, of course if I don’t enjoy it, I could book a train and leave.
