Going back to the land
The forum turned in a more spiritual direction for the past few months and didn't see a thread related to this topic, which I find odd cause for me they are connected.

I feel like the more you head towards God, the more you want a simple life close to nature.

Here is a video that shows how I want to live my life in the near future (it's part of a serie, there are the other seasons) :

It would be nice to have a thread filled with tips on how to go back to the land and be as self sufficient as you can for people like me who grew up in the city.

It can range from buying land, construction, agriculture, how to produce your own electricity, water collection, fishing, hunting, conserving food, etc...

it would also be nice to hear about the stories about you guys who made the change.

I was going to make a thread about firewood harvesting but I realised it would only send men currently heading for the hills to run screaming back to the city. Laugh

In most European countries it's pretty damn tough to find anything in significant distance to cities.

As a foreigner you will not really be welcome if you don't have a local wife who is not a city slicker.

Varg does it in France: https://www.bitchute.com/channel/thuleanperspective/

RE: Going back to the land
I grew up in the country and did tough, shitty work for low pay when I was younger and wouldn’t go back to it, I still do tough shitty work but at least I’m well compensated for it now. If you want to get a taste of the rural lifestyle then go on workaway.org and find a farm to go work at for a couple of months. I’d recommend getting into some type of location independent style of work and living in the country if you want to have the best of both worlds- high city salary, lower cost rural lifestyle.

Don’t sweat the petty things, pet the sweaty things.

RE: Going back to the land
I was just talking to an Amish Fellow who was walking down the road hunting out back on the neighbours lot.

I told him how me and some buddies were thinking that we might need to take a piece of their playbook and go back to the land. I was joking with a friend recently that the amish would be the only ones to survive when things go fully to shit.

I asked the Amish man about their split from society, he explained that they basically split from the world because God says that Christians are to live separate from the world.

I mentioned to him the advent of computers, and we talked a little about pornography. They seemed aware of computers and how these were taking society further down the dark hole.

The Amish even in the early days depended on "the English" to provide safety from outside forces - even today they do as the police is certainly assisting them if some crimes happen.

They would have been wiped out either by some Native tribes and if shit truly hits the fan, then they are some of the easiest prey around with easy access to food and nubile daughters.

Though it's a pure standard of living from a certain viewpoint.

However - it could have easily been like that if the social norms remained, but just the technology moved forward:

Note how they imagined 1999 to look like back in the day - sane patriarchal family unit, identical demographics from 1950s, son being taught according to skills and reasoning - not indoctrination, society moviing forward to conquer Mars - all with the social norms and structure intact from the early 1960s.

It's not that it can't be done - it's just that our Satanic elite had the polar opposite in mind.

I'd like it too, but a big problem is finding a woman who would also like it.

There are at least two threads in the same vein:

Hydroponics is a great system. I don't know enough about it to warrant a datasheet but basically it's a self sustaining soil free system for growing greens and herbs. I'm not sure if you can grow heavier crops like tomatoes or root vegetables.

You basically construct a pvc pipe structure, use hydroponic fluid and fertilizer, and provide a light source. Add seeds and nature does its thing.

Just be aware no matter what that homsteading is basically larping if you need to work a day job to pay the bills. As I've noted elsewhere, it has all the drawbacks of farming without the scale to make it profitable or even viable without outside resources coming in.

I'm not saying its not wise to have a bolt-hole somewhere with a year or two of supplies but don't hold any delusions about small scale farming your way through several winters.

Fear not. There's FarmersOnly.com. But don't be deceived by their commercials. Most of the women on there, well, you could load them on a stock trailer and take them to the sale barn and get higher prices than cattle.

RE: Going back to the land
I grew up rural, have spent most of my adult years in city’s, towns or cottage country. Although I’ve spent the last six months living rough in a small cabin in the bush with few amenities. It’s now an early winter here in central Canada with three inches of snow on the ground.
There’s a lot to be said for modern conveniences, it’s a chore to live without them. There’s also a lot to be said for complete privacy and silence and control of you’re own little corner of the world when you live rural. The best compromise is having a chuck of rural land half an hours drive from a decent sized center. I mean 100 000 people where you can get whatever you need.

I build a house or cottage per year and sell it. Maybe I’ll chronicle my next build in photos on another thread. If you guys would be interested in seeing that.
