Exclamation Where would you go for *1 YEAR*?
Hey everyone, I'm new here but love it.

I'm taking a year off from medical school and plan on meeting quality girls and finding a wife.
I'm 24 years old, avid weightlifter, and I know some Russian, fluent Polish.

Any recommendations?

my Top choices:
-----------------------

Transnistria

Kherson

Kharkov

Russia (Tier 2/3 cities)

The stans? (I prefer ethnic Russians)

I've saved up $15,000 and I've got an English teaching certificate and plan to teach- both for money and to meet girls.

I've been to Transnistria, Odessa, Kiev, Poland, and Lviv.
I like the girls in Lviv, but they speak mostly Ukrainian and being a foreigner turns them off. However, I'm sure actually living there its possible to meet them.

I'm leaning heavily towards Transnistria due to low tourist levels. Anyone think Kharkiv is better? or Kherson, Nikolaev?
What about Tier 2/3 Russian cities?

RE: Where would you go for *1 YEAR*?
From what I know, Transnistria is not where you want to go. It's pure mafia country, it's very very boring (even more boring than other FSU dumps), it's possibly THE biggest dump to live in EE, and the girls may not be quite as good looking as Ukraine, Russia, or the Stans (although this is highly debatable).

I prefer Ukraine to Russia (it's a bit more civilized), and the Stans intrigue me greatly (esp. Kazakhstan). Kherson is a small city which has its advantages and disadvantages. But if I had a year, I'd say Kharkov because there's more to do (and boredom is real issue in these gloomy soviet cities) and it's a huge student city. I would also give Almaty a ton of consideration because of its diversity. Kharkov will definitely be cheaper than Almaty.

Hmm, ok. I think I'll give Kharkov a try. Transnistria isn't that bad, surprisingly. Tiraspol, the capital is small but very clean and peaceful. A bit boring, but the girls are nice. Not better than Ukrainian girls, but not worse either, overall. The thing about it that interests me is its isolated, and not the ton of tourists you usually get.

So, Kharkov shouldn't be too overrun with tourists?

No, it definitely doesn't have tourists. Not common.

If isolation is a big factor for you, consider Tashkent. Dirt cheap, a good mix of Russians, ethnic Russians, and Uzbeks.

RE: Where would you go for *1 YEAR*?
I see you mention Transnistria, the breakaway republic within Moldova. I understand that there is mix of Romanian and Russian blood in that area, compared with "regular" Moldova. Well, that would be my pick.

I visited Romania in May (Bucharest and Brasov), and kept hearing other guys I met on the trip go on and on (both locals and others in the hostel), waxing poetic about the women in Moldova, how beautiful they are. And I was still wiping drool off my face from just the women I encountered in Romania!!! I never made it to Moldova---around 12 hours by bus!!! That was too much out time out of my two week trip. But I vow to make it someday.

Your "exotic" factor would be probably be highest in Transnistria. Most Americans can't find Tampa on a map, there is no way many would get to Tiraspol. The average girl is probalby quite eager to get the hell out of that place, where the most they can expect to earn is 1000€/month with an honest living. One potential downside from what I both read and heard about Chisinau: There is not a whole lot to do, and the city itself is not that beautiful, so when you are not chasing women or drinking, you might get bored. Tiraspol is probably similar to Chisinau like this.

Ahh, the Russian/Moldovan/Romanian mixed babes of Transnistria, I am curious to see what they look like. If you go, report back, with pictures of them!!

As a guy that appreciates Russian and Romanian beauty, Moldova does sound very ideal.

I was in the same boat as you...I was in Bucharest and enjoyed seeing those beautiful Romanian girls and passed on Moldova last minute. I had my fill of Romanian looking girls at the moment.

Anyone hear anything about Nikolaev?

I think all these places are great, but it seems like all social circle game and you got to live there and commit to it.

How about day game? Does that work well in these places? Any openers you guys recommend?

Don't go to Transnistria!

I got arrested twice in the space of an hour there... not fun.

I got asked for bribes to be able to leave...twice.

No problem if you speak Russian, hide your money, and tell them you're a broke student.
Transnistria also isn't the place to go if you're a non-conformist ( I looked at your website and say you'd qualify Smile - awesome site)

I'm a non-conformist on the inside..but I know how to blend in, dress like the locals, don't be too loud, etc.
So, I think Transnistria wouldn't be too bad. Still, its a very small place..with few people. It would get old, real fast if there wasn't a hot girl with me. For that reason, I'm thinking a bigger city like Kharkov might be better. Still, the idea of going to an isolated place seems alluring. Might be able to find some quality wife material there.

I live in east Ukraine, and I think Ukraine would be your best option, you should strongly consider moving to a small community, say around 100 to 200,000 inhabitants, in these smaller towns you'll find some nice clubs, parks, colleges, bazars, nice cozy cafes, and lots and lots of good looking girls just dying to meet a nice guy, you know the language, you can get involved in the community, attend community events, holidays are happening all the time, find a group of friends, you'll always have something to do, and also you'll find that the people are friendlier in the smaller towns, keep in mind if you plan to stay a year you will need a visa, you mention you would like to teach English, so I am guessing you'll seek a work visa, in Ukraine these types of visas are very difficult to obtain, you may want to consider a student visa, simply pay your student fees, attend class, get good marks, and you're set. Most certainly rule out Transnistria, laws are non existent there,

Any specific recommendations for such nice, smaller towns in east Ukraine?

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?
