I'm sorry.

I also noticed that the cavern entrance looked like a vagina. Perhaps we could rename the classic term "Roast beef curtains" to "Eel cavern".

So while reading about eels, I somehow ended up discovering that the smallest living animal is a tiny, 20 μm parasite called, I kid you not, Myxobolus shekel.

Mindblown

I like what this old dude has to say and have something to add on the pushups and longevity study.

A fat guy might be strong but is unlikely to do many pushups, extremely few fat men would be able to do more than 10, much less 40+. A fat guy could weigh enough that one pushup is the same as one rep of 225 on the bench press. How many guys outside of the NFL can 40 rep 225?

A fat guy, strong or weak, would be able to do more pushups upon losing weight.

Simple as that. If you want to avoid heart attacks, keep lifting and don't be a fatass.

The '40 pushups' number might be arbitrary, and might just indicate which guys in the study carried relatively low body fat.

RE: Forum "Lounge" - Everything goes!
One of my more recent hire coworkers had her husband bring their youngest child in (maybe 2 yrs old). Bosses were leaving for lunch, and she mentions to them before they left "Oh, are you guys going to lunch? My youngest is coming in, that's too bad you won't meet him..."

Ugh, why do you think a 45 year old man with his own family and kids who manages you wants to meet your 2 year old? And why did you tell them that as they're walking out the door? Guilt trip them? You know they aren't going to stick around to meet your kid, right?

So then they get here, and it's this "meet my kid, talk to my husband" thing. Why? Do they think I'm going to play with the kid or get to meet him? I'm uncle of the year 5 years running, and I love my nieces and nephews, but even then, when one of my sister-in-laws has a kid, I tell them to let me know when the kid turns like 1 year old or something

Why do people want think I want to get to know their kids or husband? Does her husband want to meet me? I'm guessing, or rather I hope, he doesn't really care that much about meeting me, other than to make the Christmas party a little smoother so we have something to talk about. I just don't get it.

Funny thing is, I'm pretty good with kids (multiple award winning uncle of the year), I just don't see why someone thinks I would care about meeting their kid. A coworker?

Talk about how two different brains operate. It's such a foreign idea to me. I'd be totally fine if I worked for years with people and never met anyone related to them or friends with them. Don't need a Christmas party, don't need family outings, I just want to partner with them and get the job done. I get it if you click with a coworker and become friends. But if we're just coworkers, meh. Let's leave it be.

Oh, and none of my sister-in-laws would ever think, I bet my husband's coworkers want to meet his children.

George Mendonsa, The Kissing Sailor in famous photograph, dies at 95

[Image: 2053.jpg?width=1920&quality=85&a...796df3024b]

Quote:George Mendonsa, the sailor who was captured in a famous photograph kissing a woman in Times Square amidst celebrations of the end of the second world war, has died. He was 95.

His daughter, Sharon Molleur, told the Providence Journal her father fell and had a seizure early on Sunday at the assisted living facility in Middletown, Rhode Island, where he lived with his wife of 70 years. He died two days before his 96th birthday.

Mendonsa was a uniformed sailor in the US navy when he was photographed kissing a woman in a nurse’s uniform on 14 August 1945, the day Japan surrendered.

The photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt was published in Life magazine and became one of the most famous images of the 20th century.

The kissing couple were perfect strangers. The woman was Greta Friedman, a dental assistant wearing a nurse’s uniform. “It wasn’t my choice to be kissed. The guy just came over and kissed or grabbed,” she told an interviewer with the Veterans History Project in 2005.

“It was the moment,” Mendonsa told CBS News in 2012. “You come back from the Pacific and finally, the war ends.

“The excitement of the war being over, plus I had a few drinks. So when I saw the nurse, I grabbed her and I kissed her.”

Friedman died in 2016, at the age of 92.

[Image: 2100.jpg?width=620&quality=45&am...b9352903b2]

The Rhode Island man long maintained that he was the sailor in the photo, called V-J Day in Times Square, but other sailors also claimed to be pictured. Facial recognition technology ultimately confirmed the pair’s identities.

Mendonsa was on leave and had been on a date with another woman when he heard the war was over. His date, Rita Petrie, is seen in the background of the photo. She said she didn’t mind that he locked lips with another woman amid the celebration. In fact, she became his wife of seven decades.

“Either I was dopey or something, but it didn’t bother me!” she told CBS, adding that he would sometimes repeat the performance. “It’ll come up that he’s ‘The Kissing Sailor’. So the kissing sailor has to think he has to kiss everybody. So he does!”

Mendonsa, a fisherman whose father had also been a fisherman, piloted a destroyer in the war. Lawrence Verria, a Rhode Island history teacher who with George Galdorisi co-wrote the book The Kissing Sailor, told the Providence Journal: “He really was bigger than life.”

Mendonsa is survived by his wife, his daughter and a son.

Context: the patient was diagnosed with two ingrown toenails: one on the left (outer) side of the right foot and one on the left (inner) side of the left foot. By what appears to be a medical mistake, corrective surgery was performed on the right (inner) side of the right foot, which had no problem at all.
I'd like to know if either of these terms make references to these sides.

What you said. Ingrown toenail on right foots big toe, reincident or returning ingrown toenail on right foots big toe, ingrown toenail on left foot big toe. Treatment was removing part of the left foot toenail (or perhaps removing part of the toe) which needed stitches.
