Building your liquor shelf
[Image: bartender.jpg?w=460&h=332]

Alright, let's say it's time to move into your new place and you have to decide what drinks to shelf for yourself and the special ladies in your life. What are your liquors, mixers, and other libations of choice?

Vodka: I would put on rotation Russian Standard, Blue Ice Vodka, Wodka, Monopolowa (these are the ones I've found most agreeable so far)
Whiskey: Johnny Walker Black, Laphraoig (for special occasions), Black Maple Hill bourbon, and Rebel Yell

Those would be the staples. Aside from them, I'd want a good gin, tequila, cognac, and rum (Colombia represent)!

Then when it comes to mixers, it'd be Tonic, Club Soda, Orange Juice, and Cranberry Juice.

What else is there?

RE: Building your liquor shelf
Girls don't like the taste of alcohol. They drink Grey Goose not because they know it's better but because they think it is. If you give 100 girls a blind taste test of Goose versus Absolut, they will not guess the correct vodka more than that of a coin flip. When they drink they also DILUTE the alcohol with juice or soda, completely eliminating any flavor nuance.

So unless you're doing dinner parties, you only need four things for minimal drink coverage when it comes to girls:

-Bottle of Vodka (Absolut or Stoli is fine)
-Bottle of Bacardi
-Orange juice
-Coke

That's it. I've never had a girl who didn't like either vodka and OJ or rum and coke. Girls do not appreciate finer scotches and what not... I've never met a girl who drinks scotch without soda. Some white girls like Jack Daniels with coke, though.

When I was younger I had a full bar, but girls would always drink the same shit (vodka and juice) unless I was motivated to make a special cocktail. When I travel, the first thing I do when I arrive in a city is buy a bottle of vodka and OJ for the afterparty move. No girl has ever declined because she didn't want to drink vodka.

Invest in one nicebottle of vodka, Grey Goose, then once its finished just refill it with Pinnacle, cause we all know bitches dont know the difference.

I do the aforementioned switch for vodka, a bottle of dark rum, and a bottle of Jameson.

Then as Roosh said I keep a few bottles of mixer around, usually cranberry, orange juice, and coke/dr pepper.

Agree with Roosh, think an alcohol collection is a bit gay.

When girls come to my place there's vodka, juice, tea/coffee, and water

By the time I girl has agreed to come to my place, the hard work has been done, don't need to impress her.

RE: Building your liquor shelf
I usually keep wine, beer, vodka, and rum stocked with some basic mixers. More people like red wine than white but I usually keep at least one bottle of white wine around in addition to a few reds (no need to get expensive wine--I know some wines that I buy at $10 a bottle and taste great). Sometimes I get cachaça to make caipirinhas but that's about as exotic as I'll go.

Honestly what I do is overkill and I don't think I'd be at a disadvantage if all I had lying around was cheap vodka and OJ. I just like to drink.

RE: Building your liquor shelf
i know a guy who built himself a maple liquor cabinet the size of a closet. he has 100different bottles of things. 2 bottles that are alone $1200 dollars. 20 different kinds of scotches, whiskys, 10 types of vodka, goose, belvedere. the finest mexican tequilas. This guy has spent thousands making and stocking this thing. Hes a university student and has no bangs because of it, even though he thinks it will impress the girls. This is why everyone's posts above are so important. If youre low on funds do the expensive bottle with cheap stuff switcharoo, because really as roosh said, girls dont like the taste of alcohol. I think at most you'd want one type of each kind of main hard liquor, red and white wine, maybe a champagne just to have in case you want to champagne close a girl (props to the G). More importantly than the liquor itself is the mixers, have cranberry juice and some sodas available, have CLEAN glasses. Make everything so it looks neat and tidy, you dont want to be that guy who has a liquor cabinet bigger than his bathroom trying to impress girls.

Also know how to make basic drinks WELL, don't give them a vodka cran thats 90% vodka they wont be having any of it. Know a few colourful/sugary shot recipes, bitches love those. Porn stars, chocolate cakes (bitches love cake, plus its probably lower in calories than a real slice), http://cocktails.about.com/od/cocktailre...ecipes.htm some of those.

I know about Vino.

Red
Basic: cabernet sauvignon, malbec, tempranillo(rioja), pinot noir and merlot.
Plus: grenache, tannat, chianti, bourdeaux and shiraz.

White
Basic: sauvignon blanc, moscato and something sweet for dessert.
Plus: pinot grigio

One bottle of rose wine.

If you have money, champagne, if not go with Spanish Cava.

RE: Building your liquor shelf
I have a liquor cabinet at home, and regularly drink beer and wine as well. Mostly for myself and friends though, bitches usually drink bottled water or help me down a bottle of bubbly.

My liquor cabinet staples:

1. Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban Single-Malt Scotch
2. Glenmorangie The Lasanta Single-Malt Scotch
3. Beefeater London Dry Gin
4. Russian Standard Vodka
5. Maker's Mark Bourbon
6. Cabo Wabo Tequila (open to new suggestions)
7. Bacardi 151 Rum

I also enjoy wine, too many bottles, brands and labels to mention. For reds though, lots of cabernet sauvignon, for whites, a lot of pinot grigio. A few bottles of champagne.

Beer? A lot of favorites, among them --

1. Great Lakes Oktoberfest
2. Founders Red Rye Pale Ale
3. Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter
4. Bell's Oberon Ale
5. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale

RE: Building your liquor shelf
Champagne! Champagne! Champagne!

For some reason women are addicted to it, used to have after parties with an owner at his club and I'd always ask him to pop open a bottle of champagne. The step down would be wine. I've noticed that I managed to setup lots of random after parties just by simple stating the subtly of high end parties. When I'd mention "karaoke lounge" I always let them know it was private since I did have to call them to open the door at 4am. As a result I started saying "Yea, were about to hit xyz and crack open a bottle of wine/champagne". Once almost got a VIP host, hosting an after party of 30 to switch it to where I was headed.

Find vodka way too common that people get tired of it. A single "Russian Standard" in freezer is real good. (Learnt from my friend) He also used to make this interesting drink that he said he used to make back in college that we do alot, will post it when I remember. Essentially, you drop the shot glass in a specific beer and it tastes abit like root beer when you chug it.

As you might notice, I also am a big fan of shots shots shots. I never was a drinker until I started partying with different mixed groups and realized there is an amazing connection when your doing shots or chuggin drinks together.

Other ideas...
- Tequila w/sea salt on display too (Body shots)
- Apple Pie Shot (vodka & apple cider in a shot glass...Spray whip cream in mouth, sprinkle cinnamon and then they take shot and shake your head)

P.S...It's obvious if I had shit setup I'd be pre-gaming and having after parties alot :)Doesn't always have to be a legit after party, simply you and 2-3 girls or you n your boy with 4-5 girls so yall can just select the one or ones yall like best.

P.S.S...Like someone else said, women like girly shit BUT if you like russians have vodka & tequila on deck because they love it straight. One of the girls I fool around with keeps a whole bottle of vodka in her bag and we both drink it straight.

I've never had a girl who didn't like either vodka and OJ or rum and coke.

In my vast experiences with alcohol and college girls, both of Roosh's statements are true. In fact, I actually used to do a variation of the "pepsi challenge" but I think I called it the 'Smirnoff challenge.' I poured shots of $15 Smirnoff and of $8 Burnett's. Guess how many girls could tell the difference? In fact, most actually preferred the burnett's.

I haven't done this yet, but I may buy a bottle of Grey Goose, and after it is finished, just refill it with the much cheaper Burnett's. Now I'm not suggesting you're gonna pass off that 5'oclock shit as Grey Goose, but you get the idea. Honestly, girls just like the name, and as Roosh said, won't be able to tell once it is mixed.

My personal recommendations are as follows:

1. Vodka
- Get yourself a couple varieties, as they make a million flavors now.
- Vanilla, Cherry, Orange you'd be hard pressed to find a girl uncomfortable with these sweetened flavors.
- In my experiences, most girls like vodka
- Avoid the super cheap shit like Castillo, as the nasty taste can be harder to mask

2. Rum
- The few girls that don't like vodka will usually go for rum.
- I'd probably just go with Captain or Bacardi.
- I'm nuts, so I usually keep a fifth of 151 as well. I think I developed this habit in college because all my roommates were too afraid to drink that stuff. One shot is enough to get most girls tipsy.
- Avoid the really cheap shit, as the smell alone can overpower an otherwise decent drink.

3. Whiskey
- Jack Daniels and Jim Beam are pretty popular with a lot of girls. Plus, I like drinking the stuff, so I usually have a bottle.
- Girls are drawn to those two brands, I wouldn't waste time with anything else.

4. Tequila
- I'm not a huge fan, but most girls will start doing crazier and crazier shit when they do shots of tequila. So have some ready just in case.

5. Pucker
- This is a key element. Don't get that cinnamon crap, go for something sweet like buttershots and some fruity flavor.
- This is what you use to mask the taste of a stronger drink. You can load it up, mix in whatever juice or cola you like and then top it off with pucker to kind of hide how strong a drink is. That method can also work with stronger shots, just go 2/3 whatever and then pucker on top to hide the taste/smell.

I rarely meet a girl that drinks beer, but I do, so I keep that ready as well.

EDIT: Somehow I missed Chad's post:

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I swear some girls are so dumb they become more inclined to drink just because of the name.

RE: Building your liquor shelf
Building a liquor shelf for girls is putting pussy on a pedestal...who gives a shit what they like to drink. Buy what the fuck you like and if they want some cool, if not fuck em. 9 times out of 10 they will drink it as oppose to water.

I had a connect on some HUGE bottles on don julio anejo I used to get cheap from mexico. And that's all I had.

Every single girl that came over would say nah I don't like tequila or I only like Patron (some shit they seen on tv) anyway I usually just say "this is BETTER" just try it, I would put her a double shot (i only bought double shot glasses) in the freezer for about 5 min and give to them no chaser, maybe salt if i had it (girls like stupid drinking tricks) and BAM!!

2 things, first even if they didn't like it, the shit was so strong (it was actual a double shot) it instantly made them tipsy and they loosen up and/or they say that wasn't bad lets have one more so (2 x double shots) which leads to one more, then I would say thats it!! no more this is expensive you can't be drinking up all my shit, of course they would say how much (so they can brag to their friends), or beg for more shots to make themselves drunk and....

So buy what you like, hopefully its something strong since even if they try it they will be buzzed as oppose to wine, and fruity drinks they can regulate.

Stocking a liquor bar and all that BS is for the birds, most women will drink whatever the hell you have, especially if you have some juice orange, cranberry or fruit punch to take the taste away.

I can't tell you how many dudes I know spent money on super modern bars in their apt, or building one in their house imagining all the women that will be impressed by their collection, when the actual reality is it attracted thirsty ass chicks who wanted to drink up all your expensive shit for free.

Now I usually don't keep ANYTHING at the house, I just stop at the store on the way back to the pad and pick up some rum, vodka, tequila or gin whatever i feel like then i may let her pick out the juice, 2 plastic cups so we can drink on the way to the house thats it.

I've done the same thing walking back to the house, driving my car back and even in pouring drinks in the back of a cab!!

Actually in the DR I keep a bottle of mamajuana (a weird dominican concoction of rum wine & honey and wood) and some 151 rum at the pad. But that's another post..

Trying to anticipate all these chicks needs will have you wasting time and money..do what the fuck you you wanna do and let them get in where they fit in!

Sad to see no love for cocktails.

For a long time now I have made sure to have in vodka, vermouth, dark/white rum, apricot brandy and blue curacao. Nothing beats a Zombie first thing in the morning, a Blue Lagoon during an outdoor lunch, a Martini with a cigarette in the evening and a Bloody Mary to keep away a hangover right before bed. One of these days you're going to find me dressed in a velvet smoking jacket while lounging on a chaise longue, next to a globe cocktail cabinet and clutching a copy of Les fleurs du mal.

Making a cocktail wows the ladies, but you should only prepare one for those who have earned it. Vino is a great choice for when you have girls over and you should always pour the cheap shit in an expensive-looking bottle.

I'm surprised I'm not seeing more guys hyping Tequila. The only chics that don't like Tequila shots are chics that don't drink.

Here's a good simple drink for a chic(hell I even drink 'em myself): Vodka mixed with cranberry and orange and some fresh lime slices. The orange and cranberry together are SO much better than using either of them alone. The limes gives it a nice twist.

And of course, always some red wine on the shelf and some bubbly in the fridge.

RE: Building your liquor shelf
You have to appeal to different tastes, since you never know what the latest girl you bring home will be into. A decent vodka (as long as the brand is recognizable or classy-looking, it's good) and rum will be fine for starters, and of course wine. Everyone likes sparkling, I go for the Prosecco as it's a solid bang-for-buck. Obviously, you're better off covering a wide spectrum than having 16 different kinds of tequila or scotch.

I have to echo the call for cocktails though, it's amazing how interested girls get over making the simplest drinks. I've laid a few cute ones by hyping up something as easy as a caipirinha, so make sure you have the essentials on hand. Definitely have limes, lots of ice, and some sugar around, you can do a bunch with that.

Oh, and car bombs. Nobody can turn those down, they're fun, look impressive, and they taste good.

The most important part, in my experience, is to make the drink something fun and interesting. Even if it's just a $12 bottle of cab or a new vodka you're trying from Iceland (ever hear of Reyka?) it's all how you sell it.
