As backwards as Islam can be, I think PDA, outside of the Western World and Latin America, is seen as pretty taboo, specifically between the sexes. Of course, it does not tend to be a stab-able offense though.

Not defending, trying to understand their viewpoint. I will be the first to criticize their backwardness and illogical customs and beliefs.

The culprits are idiots!!! As well as those in society who think its ok to harm others who don't share a similar viewpoint as they do. It will take years of re-educating these Islamic societies on how to handle these sort of situations.

As for their culture, you can find good things and bad things just like any other. Hopefully this serves as a deterrent for others.
