^ Not sure I like how he finished, whether you call it alpha or not.
His young heart lost sight of his old soul.
He had the potential for much bigger things but was seduced by the money, fame, and the image he'd conjured.
I don't hate on him for it - most of us would do the same given the same traps. But it was still a tragic misuse of potential.
I agree with this.
I remember seeing Tupac in the early 90s when he was with Digital Underground. Then he seemed to vanish for a while, until coming back with his solo career.
I never knew anything about his music. What impressed me about him was his acting. I'm a big movie watcher and caught a few of his movies from the 90s:
Juice
Gang Related
Gridlock'd
Poetic Justice
These movies may not have been great, but there was something about this dude that made you sit up and take notice. Especially his role in "Gang Related" with Jim Belushi. I was really impressed with his acting style. He was able to convey vulnerability, intensity, and fear all at the same time.
I don't think he got enough credit for his acting abilities. That's my opinion.
But in his personal life, you just got the impression that he got in with a bad crowd or something. It was like he got enmeshed by this spiders' web of evil: bad characters, bad lifestyle, bad choices, all of that.
It was almost like he had some sort of death wish. Like some deep-seated self-esteem issues that could never be resolved. I thought that was really sad, and really tragic.
The saddest thing in life is when talented people head for the edge of the cliff, and while no one is able to stop them.
