2Pac: Transformation from Beta to Alpha

Tupac persona and his real life seems like two different things to me.

He signed a deal with the devil but tried to go against it, that is why he was ultimately killed. It has nothing to do with the East Coast vs West Coast the media was trying to portray.

Is there any reading material on Tupac and all this stuff that's being said on this thread? I'd love an Oral History or something on the guy if anyone has any recommendations.

Frank book " I got your back" is really good book with details about the last few years of his life and personality.

Tupac was not on the right path before Death Row. He was in and out of jail for assault and drug related crimes. He was hanging out with dangerous dudes like Henchmen and Haitian Jack. He got shot before Death Row. Watch Tupac Resurrection. Death Row only accelerated his downward spiral.

And about Frank. He got a bullet in the head for his troubles.

My favorite quote from this guy: "If you fucking with a cool female, that's all good. BUT if you fucking with a bitch you need to break her ass and shake her ass"

^ Not sure I like how he finished, whether you call it alpha or not.

His young heart lost sight of his old soul.

He had the potential for much bigger things but was seduced by the money, fame, and the image he'd conjured.

I don't hate on him for it - most of us would do the same given the same traps. But it was still a tragic misuse of potential.

I agree with this.

I remember seeing Tupac in the early 90s when he was with Digital Underground. Then he seemed to vanish for a while, until coming back with his solo career.

I never knew anything about his music. What impressed me about him was his acting. I'm a big movie watcher and caught a few of his movies from the 90s:

Juice
Gang Related
Gridlock'd
Poetic Justice

These movies may not have been great, but there was something about this dude that made you sit up and take notice. Especially his role in "Gang Related" with Jim Belushi. I was really impressed with his acting style. He was able to convey vulnerability, intensity, and fear all at the same time.

I don't think he got enough credit for his acting abilities. That's my opinion.

But in his personal life, you just got the impression that he got in with a bad crowd or something. It was like he got enmeshed by this spiders' web of evil: bad characters, bad lifestyle, bad choices, all of that.

It was almost like he had some sort of death wish. Like some deep-seated self-esteem issues that could never be resolved. I thought that was really sad, and really tragic.

The saddest thing in life is when talented people head for the edge of the cliff, and while no one is able to stop them.

Suge was the only guy who was reaching out to him during incarceration so you go with those who are down with you when you don't have anything..

Let's not confuse Suge Knight's dealings with 2Pac.

He reached out to him to further himself. His ruthlessness is widely documented. He is by no means an altruistic person, like Pac was when he was younger.

Every penny he paid getting Pac out of jail he earned back and more.

Not arguing with you, just trying to highlight a point.

It seems like Tupac dumped Madonna because the latter fucked with athletes and other rappers on the side. And the fucking media turned this into a race thing claiming "he dumped her because she was white." In an exclusive letter written in jail published on TMZ, Tupac admits that this was "eye for an eye" because she hurt his ego. Even though she was the sex symbol at the time, he was too proud to let that happen. I think he is the only guy who has rejected Madonna.

Tupac's Letter to Madonna

Even if he was racist in his remarks, I, as a white guy, completely understand his point. He was a counterbalance to cucks like Tiger Woods who become so enamored with their trophy white wives and girlfriends that they lose all their dignity. I have nothing against interracial marriages but I think one of the reasons of tensions between black males and females is this trend of famous black guys disproportionately marrying white chicks. This is another tactic to break up black families and seems like Tupac was aware of this.
