Adderall isn't the miracle drug everyone makes it out to be

I've discovered recently that if I take armodafinil and cialis and drink reasonably heavily, I can still be rock hard like a champ whereas in the absence of armodafinil the drink (depending on the levels) would typically counteract the cialis.

I mean that I didn't stay on the regiment of supplements I was using for long enough to see full clearance. Besides bile acids I was using zinc, magnesium, vitamin d, omega 3, betaine hcl, selenium, b complex vitamins, lecithin, and probably something else that I can't remember right now. If you're using quality brands in high dosages, those can add up and I didn't have a stable source of income at that time.

Filip, no PM capability?

Adderall is getting me through all my USMLE exams and it got me through all my sciences prior to this. It is great for focused activity, studying, and getting shit done. It did wonders for me, especially during 8 hour licensure exams-when you have razor sharp concentration 7 hours in and no mental fatigue that is a definite plus. Just my 2 cents.....

As far as effectiveness of either, I'd say they are effective for studying. The big kicker is to set up yourself in such a way that you're going to be studying while you're on either, otherwise you'll spend eight hours rearranging your room or shitposting on the internet instead.

This! I took modafinil an hour ago for the first time in months.

I finally got round to tidying my room, but now I've got 50 tabs open in chrome, mostly reddit, fake news, wikipedia geography and Tumblr porn.:huh::huh:

It works when you've got a definite task to do and you have structures to keep you disciplined, but it is not a panacea.

I have taken armodafinil (a variation of modafinil) and can say I was able to focus on one task for about 9hrs straight. Also I felt more creative while on it with ideas always popping into my head.

Just don't take it with coffee if you are taking the full dose. Bought it online from an indian pharmacy. You can also find it on local ebay like websites.

Adderral is really tough to kick the habit of. Took it for 3 years straight. Got up to 64mg a day

It's really becoming a druggy. You start feeling like you can't function without it. And if you try to go cold-turkey- you will hit a withdrawal effect. Usually it's staying in bed, and not having the energy or motivation to get out.

It can be pretty damn scary. Marijuana, plus CBD usage helped a ton with the withdrawal effects, I was able to kick the habit.

Unfortunately, sometimes you feel like you "need" that extra kick to get back into work or pull off the project.

I'm still in a standstill with addy usage. It really depends on your life situation, work, and relationships. When I have consistent work, I know what I need to get done, then I can go without Addy. However, once there's no work - and I need to pursue my own side hustles- then addy feels like a must.

It really depends. My current dosage is 2 times a week. Don't want to risk becoming dependent on it.

Adderall was a huge help to me in preparation for the Bar Exam. Study habits were like night and day, especially with extended release. I was in my upper 30's at the time.

If you take it every day it's effectiveness will wear off, basically like smoking cigarettes. Twice a week would be a good amount to take it. Would also recommend it for overweight people for weight loss. You'll lose 10 lbs per month and clear out the junk in your intestines.

Gave me the shakes, could not hold my hand still. This was not a withdrawal effect.

Overall I would say it's a good strategic tool to use for specific things but not to just be on permanently.

Side Effects:
High irritability.
The shakes
Bests shits I've ever taken.
Weight Loss
More Power then less power.
Sluggish when you don't take it.

Good Luck.

Also, there are some keywords you need to tell your doctor for them to approve it.

-I have a hard time concentrating.
-I always had a hard time studying in school.
-I was never good at taking tests.
-I have a hard time sitting still.
-I can't seem to focus on anything for more than 5 minutes.

You have to paint either an adult onset ADD or a childhood ADD that went undiagnosed.

Stuff like that. The doctor has to justify it in their brain to give it to you.

I'm glad to hear that. I've also been taking addy to pass the Bar exam. I'm in CA... i've been on several attempts now. But each time is closer and closer. #KeeponTruckin

When I stop taking addy my hands also start shaking; and feel sluggish when i don't. High irritability. Sometimes I feel my social skills take a dip, but i think that's because i'm just clamored with studying, and don't "game" per se or interact with people all that much.

Ahhhh I took that CA Bar Exam and it was a nightmare, but now its only two days so it shouldn't be that bad... youngin, when I took it, it was 3 days.

I had a friend that took a lot of adderal to study for the exam and he would study non-stop for 18 hours and then crash and not be able to do anything for a day or two. Pace yourself and do lots of practice exams - good luck to you.

Hahaha thanks, bud! Yeah dude I've been taking the bar when it was 3 days and now 2 days. It really is a world of a difference.

Now i'm in stalemate mode. Can't really focus on my career since I don't know I'll have one come November 17th.

Did you guys do anything outside of the standard barbri, kaplan materials? MBEs have been a killer for me.

Just to clarify, my hands were shaking while I was taking, maybe 6 months into everyday use.

Regarding the Bar exam, everyone else is taking it, or some other cognitive inhancer, and the test is graded on a curve, so unless you think it is not effective, you are at a clear disadvantage if you are not taking it or something.

Oh yeah, I just realized that results come out over Thanksgiving. What try are you on? I didn't pass the first time after doing BARBRI, but I came damn close. What I did the second time is, after you get your results, take a week to be depressed and cry about it, and then get that fucking ADAPTIBAR question bank and just start fucking doing as many MBEs as you can every day - when you wake up in the morning run to your table, pour a coffee and get fucking 25 MBEs out of the way - then get breakfast or whatever and get 25 more. Everyday for that first month. If you do 50 MBE questions a day for the first month, thats 1500 you've done before you even started studying for that two month death scretch. Ahh I actually miss studying for the bar...

Also, what screwed me the first time was not taking practice tests - not only do practice tests help your knowledge, but even more important, they teach you to endure that brutal 200 MBE test day - its very hard to lose focus 1/2 way through and bomb it if you haven't taken the time to really build your endurance. Good luck!

Ah. Good points, bud. Thank you for the great feedback!

I gotta use programs like adaptibar, if God-forbid results don't come back as passing.

I really like the Adaptibar idea because waiting to open up the big giant BarBri books and start doing MBEs, is mentally consuming. Easier to just login and BOOM.

This is 3rd time taking the Bar Exam.

What kind of law do you practice? Do you have your own practice, or in house? What was your experience from Post-Bar life and gaining good employment.

Thanks again for the insights, brosk!!

I'm a corporate associate at a small firm. I got the job by reaching out to one of the partners during 1L (he practiced in a niche I wanted to work in), and then again throughout 2L. I ended up clerking here in the summer, and then eventually got an offer to come back after law school. I was mainly hired because I'm fluent in a language that a number of the firm's biggest clients prefer to communicate in.

It was very uncomfortable telling everyone at the firm that I didn't pass the bar, but thankfully they let me stay on to try a second time, and then, thank god, I passed. All-in-all I enjoy the work and working with my colleagues.

I'm not sure what I would have done if I didn't get this job - I would likely mass-mail every firm and take every associate and parter out to lunch that I could.

If I could go back in time I would have tried to get hired at a bigger firm or maybe gone into PI. I make good money but nowhere near that mass-tort money. I am considering in-house, but haven't gotten any attractive offers yet.

I used to have a script for this. Daily use of adderall makes it worthless after a while.

Now I only use it once every week or two if I have something REALLY boring to do (stack of paperwork, data entry etc.) It makes this stuff tolerable but as soon as you're done it's really better being sober. I don't like the stuff.
