Shlemenko definitely went for points in round 5 there. I don't mind tho. I like all aspects of the game and after 4 back and forth rounds with Cooper that probably shortened their lives and definitely their careers, I can't begrudge him locking up the fight in round 5 with a few takedowns.

Evan Tanner Documentary: Once I Was A Champion

Powerful movie. There were times were my eyes welled up. It's a shame someone like him died so young. If he had written a book, I would've bought it.

This is a must-watch for even the most casual of MMA fans.

I have not scene it yet, I always herd good things about it tho.. I also herd
Jens Pulver's documentary "Driven" is really good, its on Netflix

UFC finally gets it. Jones took one last night but in the long run he knows this is better for his career and UFC. Jones is a beast. The rematch should be a much easier win.

That was a great fight, and to be honest I think that the UFC needed it. I remember thinking after Jones beat Sonnen, that the tragedy was Jones had no one really on his level to fight. I hadn't anticipated him being involved in any great fights as he was too much better than everyone at LHW. This puts a lot of excitement back into the division.

The fight revealed that Jone's reach has indeed been a huge part of his success.

I'd love to see Glover Texieria get a crack at either Jones or Gustaf. If he ends up having to fight Gustaf then the winner should get a shot at Jones.

There was never any doubt that Jones' height and reach were simply insurmountable obstacles for his previous opponents. He was able to maintain distance, yet successfully strike his opponents with his hands or feet. Gustafsson was actually the superior striker in this fight - his hands were faster than Jones anticipated. He was able to successfully defend Jones' takedown attempts, while being the first to take Jones down. He nullified every advantage Jones usually enjoys over his opponents. He graciously admitted that he needed this kind of challenge, because he never REALLY knew what he had deep down within himself. When they read the scores, you actually didn't know who the winner was going to be. Matches like this are always great for the individual fighters AND the sport as a whole.

Good card last night
Diego Sanchez vs Gilbert Melendez was one of the most exciting fights I have seen. When Diego dropped Gilbert in the third Buffalo Wild Wings exploded and people were going nutts, including myself. Epic fight Diego has always left everything in the ring.

Asking if any of you guys seriously follow MMA?

I used to watch almost all of the UFC's when they would come on. Hell, I even watched a lot of the old Pride FC events on the net.

I am not as big of a fan anymore, not sure why.

WHAT!? You don't want to watch guys beat each other into unconsciousness and brain damage any more? What a wuss you are.

I'm worse -- I'm into opera, ballet, and classical music. A real Beta.

Maybe more zinc will get you back into the correct mental frame.

This is not the same GSP as before the injury. Still need to watch the fight. Rush cuts easily but 19 defenses is impressive. Hendricks is tuff.

I have gone mano a mano with George St. Pierre in Montreal three times now.

Nightlife wise.

Ha I just read that post before watching the match. GSP was suited up with a pocket square, looking like a G. Not surprised he kills it in the club.

Hendricks got screwed over, I feel bad for the guy, and the Nevada Commission really need to get their s*** together, there is no way GSP should of won that fight, I just hope GSP doesn't retire and gives Hendricks that deserved rematch.

All in all that was an great card.

Loved Lawler putting it on Rory. Bad night for Tristar.

Enjoyed Kos getting ko'd aswell.

First card i had watched in ages. Womans MMA and all these little men had drained the fun. Dana and co really overestimated the womans MMA aspect in my opinion, They have damaged the brand with it. I dont want to be associated with that makes it more trashy then it already is.

yep, it was an interesting night that's for sure, especially seeing Anthony Petti's little bro get a decent debut. Tyron Woodley KO was textbook, loved that fight, but what's going to happen with Sonnen? I think the guy should do one more fight with Wanderlei Silva and then call it quits.
