Any Youtube Marketers On Here?

Here's an idea I had, let me know what you think:

Approach a girl on the street with the right "look". Ask her if she would do a brief promo for your product. Offer to pay her $10.00 on the spot and get her to sign a model's release (this may be the most difficult part). Shoot a brief video with a cheap digicam (which you carry around in your pocket) of her holding your product up saying:"I'm Marci and I do (product name)". String ten of these promos together and now you have a YouTube video! Edit anyway you want.

Advantages:
1)It's cheap.
2)You get hot babes to push your product
3)Pay her with a company check, get the release signed and you are legally protected.
4)Get her contact info, send her a copy, and you may have someone you can use for future promotions.

Problems:
1)Better have solid game. I will let you contemplate the results of a Herb trying this on a 9.
2)Approach the wrong girl and get the cops sicked on you.
3)Having a boyfriend, parent, etc. call you up later and say:"You pervert, stay away from her!".

I was thinking about this again the other day...the real advantage of YouTube is when they allow anyone to start charging for premium content. Whether or not it has been announced, it's in the works, I can assure you.

The nice thing (depending on the cut they take) is that you won't have to worry about bandwidth limitations if your product/community does very well. Video bandwidth can get expensive quickly if you're dealing with thousands of users.

With that said, having even a semi-responsive channel/community of viewers is certainly an asset, now and downline.

If you have an idea, start shooting and testing things out. If I wasn't overwhelmed with clients and other projects, this (video production and community building) is probably where I'd be focusing some of my time.

It would take quite a bit of traffic to make significant money. 100,000 views would only make you $300-$500. So you would need to make great content and a lot of videos to make some cash on that.

Amount per views cost depends. I have about 500 recent views on one vid and made $1. SEO, pandering to stupid, tits, and lots of shitty facetime are the only ways to really make money on youtube steadily. Making suggestive yet useless videos is generally what most people do.

I've got an idea to run an reality YouTube show in the DR. Monthly operating costs will run around $2K, depending on how much movement is involved, but it will be based off the N. Coast. That's not including hiring a film crew now and again or professional editing. That stuff is cheap down there.Hardware cost might run another $4K, depending on the amount cameras required to cover the house, plus a quality digital video recorder, wireless mics, covert cams to wear. I'd pay for a consult with a production guru this, but I'm very knowledgeable with any hardware attached to a lens.

Members could come down and hangout on the cheap, but I need high energy personalities that are ready to go non-stop for 30 hours straight, and help setup complex pranks, play in a band, drink, chase pussy, pay locals to climb coconuts naked. Ideally though it'd be better to keep a regular crew. I think if we hit it hard, 3 months is enough time to get the footage to keep the channel going for awhile.

Giving some room for play, I'd say the evolution will run around $12K, and by black magics numbers stated above, will need 2M+ views to break even. Given what is on YouTube, that's really not that many, especially by posting quality shows on a consistent basis.

Once the ball gets rolling, other opportunities will present themselves. We could branch off in other directions to appeal to different demographics.

Rather than focusing on getting paid for views, you can charge a pretty penny for trips--private and/or group AND get paid for the views.

Under30CEO.com does this with Under30Experiences (hosted/guided trips) and based on the cost (does not include airfare), they do fairly well.

A few trips and you've covered your costs and then some, not including ad revenues.

Infowars does a lot of Youtube, they have some advertisements but most of their money comes from their store, they develop and sell their own products and place ads in the videos themselves. Must make pretty decent money given the amount of people on payroll.

Obviously it would be very hard to duplicate Infowars style, but it's just another idea of how to monetize viewers.
