The man was always broken but he showed a lot of sense of humor in his interviews. I disliked mainstream pop and especially hip-hop so I saw him as a rebel against the mainstream (nevermind him being on MTV a lot). Some quotes that sound smart but were just empty (Dawkins, Hitchens style). The TV shows that tried to attack him ended up making him look more interesting and approachable than he really was. Musically I though he lost it decades ago. Interestingly, he mentioned a few times that he wanted to marry some of his previous partners but it did not work out. Now I see darker days ahead for him.</blockquote>
