I'd say this applies to most Vietnamese & Korean people here in the US. Koreans definitely enjoy their camaraderie but do not often engage in mainstream activities that the rest of western society partakes in. They're content people who are perceived as more closed off & can honestly say they don't really possess an inferiority complex. Vietnamese are similar in the fact that they really enjoy the camaraderie of their own culture yet are overwhelmingly more charismatic, openly funny, politically incorrect, resilient on a social level, and more relatable to Non-Asian individuals. They embrace things like Mexican food, American football, becoming engaged in politics (mainly conservative leanings in Texas), and quickly learning to naturally mimic social mannerisms of the westernized folks surrounding them in their daily lives. Heck...most Vietnamese have taken football to the next level because they love gambling on NCAA & NFL games. Big difference between Koreans and Viets here too is: Koreans - Friendship is everything Vietnamese - Family is everything Being Half Taiwanese/Half Vietnamese myself, I'd say that most American born Chinese dudes here in Texas are quite integrated into the scene as these are chill adjusted dudes. I can't for some reason stand most American Born Chinese dudes in California or New Jersey though. These dudes have serious inferiority complexes, look grimy, have bad haircuts, get questionable tattoos, overspend on dressing hip hop, get passive aggressive, and unfortunately serve as the "mainstream voice" in the US of perpetuating negative self limiting beliefs that certain Asian dudes have about themselves. I think it's a good thing that Asian ethnicities are somewhat divided....bc it's always bottom of the barrel American Chinese dudes from the coasts insisting that "us Asians unite...." Unite behind what? Your bullshit negativity spewing out whiny videos like this?
