Even though she seems to have a pleasant and easy existence, she's comparing herself to the 9/10 Instawhores posting professional quality pics with perfect photoshopped bodies, next to handsome millionaires, in exotic locations around the world. In her mind she still has a shitty life in comparison.

It's some sort of packaged falsehood sold to them by the tech-world among others. Any sub-surface level analysis of social media would reveal that to be self-evident. I'm a dude, and I know my way around photoshop (even though I don't photoshop photos). It's just a few clicks to look flawless, and anyone with half a brain can pick up the essentials in a few hours.

The root of the problem is deeper, and many women are probably unaware of it: there are significant achievement gaps between men in women in many Western societies. These gaps begin in primary school (or even day care), and worsen from there. You have boys being fed ADD medication (legal speed) because they are aggressive, rambunctious, or unable to handle the feminized education environment which is almost completely dominated by women and libtards. Talk to some male friend of yours who was force-fed the stuff, and then see how damaging it was to them and their development. I assure you, it is eye-opening. Fighting, which used to be something common in schools, is now verboten. There's no understanding that "boys will be boys" (and no, thinking that is not toxic masculinity contrary to what the elites would tell you), in fact that line of thinking is no worse than thinking that women have an instinct to nurture, bond, and care for others, but I guess we can call that toxic femininity if we want because now it's all about inverting societal values and gender roles. Men are better at math, no big surprise there, but even women are doing better at math now, and then you're hitting men with a double whammy by telling them that math is sexist while simultaneously promoting more women in STEM. Men aren't being encouraged to go to college, so before a dude even gets out of high school he's fucked.

You arrive at college, like I did, and they're shoving diversity down your throat from the onset. Mandatory diversity training (went to one of those). Training on how not to rape women (went to one of those). Being told men are roofie-ing women's drinks (which I think is complete BS because of some of the studies I've read indicating that women are self-dateraping themselves with alcohol because of a binge-drinking epidemic on college campuses. It's all so confusing as an 18 year old, because if women are being taken advantage of, can't men be too?

That's all stuff you can write off, but then you have feminized HR departments at colleges whose mission it is to destroy white males accused of anything. That's where Title 9 or whatever it's called comes in. No due process for men. Always believe the woman, that's rule number one. Dude gets kicked out of school because he gave a chick a hug or flirted with her and she felt uncomfortable. Ah.... justice. The curriculum is a veritable minefield, working in identity politics, feminism, micro-aggressions and post-modernism into the humanities. Well, 90 percent of the professors are liberals so that's no big surprise. Forget about red-pilling fellow students, you'll get a complaint from the diversity office or worse yet, your professor will try to fail you.

You make it to the end of college, and all the companies at the college fair tell you how to apply for jobs. To your horror, they are looking for women or applicants of color because they are committed to diversity. Well, you're fucked. For some reason, when you make it out into the world, your female peers are doing better than you... They have a better job, they're paid more, or they're moving up the ladder quicker than you. They get to complain about how tough it is for them, because society is still "sexist", even though you get the feeling you're not being told the whole story. The girl you used to sit next to in economics class is now an "it-girl" and has everything, while you don't know how you're going to navigate your way through a career full of potential sexual harassment allegations, find a way to get a wife, have a family avoiding divorce, support your children in an increasingly fragmenting country, and then retire.

Well, maybe it's ok women have these opportunities, they are human beings after all, but then you remember that the next foreign conflict we get into, you're getting drafted and she's not. Male privilege, cool concept.

You get home from work and turn netflix on. It's full of marxist drivel and historical dramas full of minorities in Victorian England, or the time of the Vikings. There's no escape from it unless you want to check out, or leave the cities. Or, maybe you go abroad.

You end up going abroad, and you're liking it. It is a slice of paradise, until you notice the Western Degeneracy seeping in day by day, after combing the local language newspapers. Gay pride became a thing in the past few years because of encouragement from the UN and other Western Governments. Great, now they're protecting minority rights... You see the key culprits: NGOs, Western Media, social media, technology, regime changes, etc. Soon there will be no paradises.

You think, well shit, maybe there's something politically I can do about this. Maybe voting more, or activism, you say. Dems and Republicans are cucked parties and have been for many years. Contemporary political discourse would reveal that to you, and also who pays their bills. The media tells you populism is bad, and that the masses know nothing, they need to be led rather than for change to start from the bottom up. You look towards Europe for hope, maybe they're more weary of all this Bullshit than we are. Le Penn makes it to the second round, maybe a message will be sent. Then some fucking investment banker comes out of nowhere and wins. So much for democracy.

Maybe they'll build a wall, you say. But then you remember, "maybe there will be no more iraqs", "maybe there will be no more erosion of civil liberties to fight terrorism", "maybe we will become great again." And then you remember China holds most of our debt, and all the manufacturing jobs left long ago...

I'm gonna go have an avocado toast and listen to the globalist anthem while waiting for my uber to arrive so I can go daygame at Starbucks. Imagine that.

Things like this happen because we have become spiritually bankrupt as a nation. Almost everybody is faking it.

Sure you put on a good front, for the most part you keep yourself together. Maybe you have lots of income, popularity, and you indulge in your hedonistic pleasures.

But those moments of real desperation and pain, you keep those all to yourself.

We have entire threads on this forum about difficulty having real friendships with men we have things in common with. It's an epidemic and technology has made us more insular and divided than ever. Another surface solution of 'real connection.'

All the instagram likes and thousands of FB friends can never replace true allies who will stick with you through thick and thin.

I don't know the solution, but it starts with individuals. Most people are on thin ice. It's one thing to be moral because you fear the law, it's another because you've purified yourself spiritually.

This woman made this sad decision because she felt cut off, alone, and wanted to end the pain. She had an emptiness inside from cultural forces and living in this modern time.

There's a great piece by a punk rocker and ordained Zen monk. I'm paraphrasing here but he mentions how he once thought of suicide, but couldn't go through it. Then he realized conceptually that he had already killed the person he was. He didn't have to be bound by the past, he could be born again that day and live life in a new direction. It's an important lesson.

This. Humans are designed to exist in tight-knit communities where no one has a thousand fake ass "friends," but the friends they do have are like family and truly loyal. Modern life has very little sense of community, and that goes 10X for these travel junkie types you often find in places like NYC. They have all these 'friends' scattered around the country or even the globe, but have no idea who their neighbors are and barely associate or bond with their coworkers. Their main form of face-to-face socialization is the 2 hour long lunch date they spend 2 weeks planning with their friend who lives on the opposite coast. Their social life is just endless complication. Zero chance for spontaneity, zero chance for any truly close bonds or any sense of tribal belonging. It's a lifestyle that optimizes appearing happy and successful and adventurous on social media, but if you look deeper than the staged photos in front of the Cambodian temples, it seems like a miserable existence.

People always committed suicide, even in the so called halycon days of patriotic glory and strong knit families.

Except in those days, the families of those who committed suicide kept it all hush hush. Without the internet for people to show off on, who would have known?

Nowadays it's all on display for people to see. Even worse when the stigma of it has been erased. That blog post in particular is sickening.

Seriously , if you're going to off yourself do it with some dignity.

Living in New York is a soul-sucking experience. I spent four years there getting a little more worn out every single day from the sheer ugliness of it all -- the dysfunction of the subway, the crap everywhere on the streets, the mindless pedestrians who cause traffic jams because they can't be bothered to wait five seconds for a red light, the antlike character of its globalized population -- and the fact that there's basically no escape from it if you're a person of ordinary means. Sure, there's lots of nice places to eat out. Lots of places to go shopping, if that's what you like. Then what? You're still an atomized Deep Fried Human Nugget in a fetid cage of urban grid.

It's not even like some big Asian cities where things are neat, the public transit works properly, and people behave themselves (or at least stay quiet and courteous).

It's the most overrated city in America. Unless you make like 7 figures a year, but if you do I'd still rather live on the West Coast.

How does a girl like this not find a man (or woman if she's into that) to help give her purpose in life?

What a waste.

In most parts of America that girl is a situational 8.

Like most 8s she thought she was entitled to a professional athlete, billionaire playboy, or celebrity.

No way is she an 8. Barely a 6. Look at that nose.

Some of the comments on here have me puzzled. 8/10? Having your day ruined because she killed herself?

I'm not rejoicing or anything but who cares? I have to hand it to her though for one thing: most women who try to "kill themselves" make a feeble attempt with some pills and just end up in the ER. She actually wanted to go for real by hanging herself instead of making a big cry for attention.

Not singling you or anyone else out, but I think we should afford her some respect. I also don't think we should rate her... As someone who has suffered from depression I think we should honor her life, and go have one meal for her. I had a nice meal tonight in honor of her tonight, and thanked God for her presence, and her time on the earth. I also thanked him for her father, and I wished them the best of times in heaven.

I will not ridicule someone for depression or anxiety, and like many millenials, I think actually I have both. I will not fault her for choices that were not fully hers. So much of our paths now are pre-determined. I will not fault her for faulty culture when my female cousin whom I love very much as family falls into the same trap. So much is out of our control.

I have honestly been suffering from depression since I was 17/18 as well as anxiety. I am not asking for sympathy or whatever. I can handle it, and because of wide-reading, I know about all this existential shit. I will not off my self, rather, I will struggle to live and find meaning. One day, God help me, I will find a wife and have children... I will do everything I can do to support them and give them all my love and devotion. What I ask is that you understand that women are the weaker sex (don't know if i've phrased this exactly as I want it), I'm not trying to put them down or anything like that, but women physiologically speaking, are just so much more susceptible to emotion and group dynamics than men.

I wish this poor girl and her family the best. Who knows, it could be my cousin, knock on wood-- so much pressure these days. Tomorrow I will pray for her and celebrate her life. She is a human with intrinsic value and people loved her. I love her too, not even knowing her...

My point is, the human condition is beautiful, and it is a gift.

Life live guys, and give thanks however you can... even if that means smashing thots.

As my friends in the ghetto say: another day, another drink!

We can expect more of these in the future.

"She had everything going for her"

Bottom line is chicks are lied to about what will give their lives meaning and fulfillment.

Humans have been conditioned for 10's thousands of years to to deal with real fear (aka physical danger) while societies have been striving to reduce if not eliminate all the sources of said fear.

Western societies have been extremely successful in accomplishing that without really ever considering what would fill that existential void. Hence the rise of fear of ego and manufactured "problems".

Without the ability to appreciate * the positives of living in the safest, healthiest, easiest, era in the history of human kind people like this woman are often left to ruminate themselves into believing their lives "lacking"

* I wrote in another post

Appreciation is a critical component that is often overlooked and or mis-defined

Ive often used the following analogy when discussing the nature of appreciation*

Imagine if you will a glass of water. Now in that water there are a few particles of something floating around. Maybe just a little dust the wind kicked off the kitchen window sill.

4defbe1355f8f.image.jpg

Would you drink it?

Of course not. Youre in the kitchen. You simply dump it, rinse the glass and pour another glass from the filtered water port on the fridge

Most on the forum will recognize this as having "abundance mentality".

But lets change up the hypothetical scenario. Your car breaks down on some remote stretch of road of the Mojave Desert. Your stranded with no cell reception, no provisions and no civilization for 100 miles so you have no choice but to walk out. So you walk for the next 3. 5 days, without food or water and finally stumble across and old abandoned shack. You are at the end of your endurance, cracked tongue and lips from dehydration

You stumble in and there on the counter:

4defbe1355f8f.image.jpg

Would you drink it? Of course. Anyone would. And in that extreme moment that less than pristine glass of water would be the best tasting, most satisfying, most appreciated glass of water of your life. Wouldn't it ?

That's a totally wrong take, it totally misses the mark.

Young women and men in America weren't committing suicide and getting depressed at the same rates 50 years ago, back when material abundance was at least as great as it today, and the world and urban environment were actually safer than today.

The difference is not that the world is too safe and too materially rich, the difference is that the social environment is significantly poorer today than it was 50 years ago. And this decline is not a consequence of material satiation, as college debt, spiraling housing costs, underemployment and lack of career prospects are recent problems that have made the economic prospects of young people more precarious than those of their predecessors.

It's the cultural changes that are creating depressed young women and men, and those changes have been deliberately created by social engineering.

My post was intended to address the current human condition in context of it's entirety...not just the last 50 years.

Youre kind of reinforcing my point. The majority of human history people died young from diseases that are easily cured now, warring neighbor tribes, animal attack, flood, famine, cold, heat.....and on and on.

But it's interesting you would list the following as how conditions are worse:

as college debt, spiraling housing costs, underemployment and lack of career prospects are recent problems that have made the economic prospects of young people more precarious

-College debt
-Housing costs
-Economic prospects

These are real concerns but ultimately fears of the ego. The are obstacles to overcome...not real danger. The primary purpose of fear is to enhance one's chance at survival. Can you really equate the burden of college debt with getting mauled and eaten by a wild animal, or starving to death because of an extended drought, attacked by a xeno-community, etc etc

Im not trying to minimize the issues facing younger men in an attempt to make light of the concerns, but rather to empower them by shedding light on the concept of real fear vs ego fear

kaotic keyed in on the crux of the issue: "mindset"

In order to live a desire (positive) driven life rather than a fear (negative) driven one a person has to have perspective.

We dont know what this woman's particular issues

I've known three girls (including an ex) who did the phony suicide, cry for help pills "overdose" and yeah, it made me lose respect. Like, if you want help or attention, just ask and you'll receive since you're an attractive young woman.

I don't agree with this woman's decision but you've got to admire her integrity.

Bingo. Having spent considerable time in NYC in the recent past, I can tell you that the City is good for one thing: money. You can make significant dollars there through a job/investment opportunities.

Give me the money and I'd rather be in So. Cal or Arizona. Nice weather, better QoL.

I won't make light of your battles with depression and I work in a field where I see it first hand and how it ruins lives. It does seem like you're trying to be kind which is fine and all but here's a question I would ask you and other people mourning this woman's death: are you also mourning the lives and deaths of the thousands of mentally ill people who end up dying due to drug over-doses every year? What about the men who who take their lives at a rate much higher than women? If you are, that's admirable because you're more compassionate than I am but the sadness over this woman's death seems like it belongs to:

1. Fake news media telling us what we should think
2. White knighting - feeling bad only because this woman is "attractive."

Your sentiment of cherishing life is commendable but why aren't you also cherishing the life of the many 40 year old heroin addicts who live at halfway houses and will most likely die in the next few weeks from an OD?
